- SalThis is definitely fake number ... how the hell the bank will not know the last 4 numbers of the debit card !! so stupid to call this legitimate.

- B.This is not a scam. I am confused by the number of people on here claiming that it is. I received a text with this number reporting that my card had been temporarily restricted due to suspicious activity. I did not call this number but went through my local bank branch to make sure it wasn't fraudulent. My card had indeed been flagged and I was able to get it all fixed in a matter of minutes. I think it is wise not to call the number since it is sent via text, but do not ignore it as a scam. Call your local branch and get it sorted out so that you don't get your card declined when you attempt your next purchase.

- hiedifrancisa message comes across your phone stating you need to call 877-248-6278 due to fraudulent activity. I made the mistake of calling thinking it was B of A. What they do is get your card info and make a fraudulent attempt on your acct. Which causes a real fraud activity at the bank. Call your local bank and get the fraud phone #. No matter what comes across your pc or phone, go straight to the source by walking in the door or calling them by using the number on your statement... don't use anything that comes to you no matter how secure you think it is. I haven't had an issue since I have been using my work pc to change my information but when I use my phone that's when weird stuff starts happening... so I am inclined to think someone can see everything on my phone or has access to all the saved passwords on my phone. Fortunately I never let my phone save my banking info, not even my online ID. Stupid scammers are getting smart.

- hiedifrancis replies to JWB of A wouldn't confirm with me that it was one of their numbers. They said it wasn't possible due to the amount of phone numbers they have. You must have spoke with a more intelligent person than who I spoke with.
- JohnThis is legit BofA message. Not sure why so many scam claims.

- Sdloki replies to SdlokiAnd it didn't come from Bank of America normal text number 692632 it came from a new one 35422!! Please don't trust...
- Annoyed123456 replies to JimI agree with Jim- same exact scenario. I tried using my card to get gas and it was locked up. I did respond to the text message I got (I know... should know better) and they also tried to call me (this number we are all replying to) and also an email. The charges they were checking if they were "fraudulent" were okay to process, but I appreciated them checking. My card was unlocked and I proceeded to get my gas. No issues since.
I do recommend always calling the number on the bank of your card to verify, but don't be quick to think it is a scam either. - Hate ScammersFAKE Bank of America fraud dept. . Do not give these people any of your information!!!!!!!!!! I repeat FAKE! If you have questions for your bank call the number on the back on you card.
- Caller: FAKE Bank of America
- DonReceived call from this number. Had ordered grocery delivery from Von's and the card was rejected. Then this call came in saying it was Bank of America Fraud dept. For some reason the supermarket had put a 1 dollar authorization on my card to check it's validity. It triggered the fraud dept. I did not trust it as am always skeptical so called number on back of card and was transferred to fraud dept. for BOA. Yes it was legitimate. They had froze my card until I verified the purchase. First they ran through some of my other purchases in last couple of days. If you doubt this number or are just cautious like me then use the number on the back of your card. As for the people saying it is a scam or fake, I have no idea how they come up with that judging by my experience.
