Received a call from this number, did not answer and they left no voice mail. Seems if it was legit and there was an issue with fraud they would of left me a message. I monitor my account as well.

It is a legit call, but you can call the number on the back of your credit card.

Okay so, today while driving I got a call from this number.  I on general principals do not answer numbers without a caller ID, especially 800/866/877 numbers.  I called it back and a robot voice asked me for a case number, which I did not have as I didn't answer the call and they left no message.  After going through that loop of it asking me again and again for a case number eventually I got a person, who asked me for a case number.  I explained why I was calling and the man said he was with fraud detection with "your bank"  That's the biggest red flag when they can't say the name of the bank, just "your bank".  He asked for information which I told him I was not comfortable giving because I did not know if he was associated with my bank.  He told me I could call the bank instead and ended the call.

So I called my bank and told the lady there what happened and she agreed that it sounded suspicious.  After giving her my card number and verifying my identity, she looked into it, and there was a fraud lock on my card due to a few charges, I verified them all as charges I made.  She said that I was right to be suspicious however, she would have done the same.

So, yes, the number is legitimate, but they do behave in a suspicious matter.  When in doubt, call your bank instead, so you at least KNOW the person you're talking to is associated with them.

This happened to me a couple of months ago. I was attempting to pay a bill, when my card was declined. I called my bank--and they informed me they had locked my account because of a "suspicious transaction" with a merchant I have been doing business with for over five years. I got no straight answer when I asked them as to how they could make that determination---but I guess I cannot complain, after what I went through with Direct Express (remember them??) earlier this year. After that experience, I've learned that one cannot be too careful.

These people are legit. They are a fraud protection company that banks contract with. They will call when something doesn't seem legit to verify that it's you making the transactions. They have saved me before with the Target and Home Depot hacks. They will identify themselves as the fraud detection center from your bank. Be grateful that they are good.

This is legitimate.  My credit union used this fraud protection service for my card.  I provided them with my zip code -- nothing else.  They, in turn, had me acknowledge specific transactions.  I also confirmed this with my bank.

Called my bank thinking this number was part of a phishing scam. Bank told me that it's a legit MasterCard Fraud center, but if I didn't feel comfortable calling the number back my bank could handle the case through their own call center. So I did that. You should be able to as well.

Never ever ever call them back!!! Its a scam!!! Once you call them, they keep asking for only your first name to get your trust, then verify phone to really know your number, then they pretend to try to do a seach because its not coming up and ask for your full lastname!  Now you're screwed

Not quite.  My bank does not have any type of 24/7 service.  The toll free # on the back routes to the branch.  They are open M-F 830am-4pm.  You can use the drive thru on Saturdays from 8-11am, but they do not answer calls.

This call was legit; my debit card had just been fraudulently used in another state and within minutes I was notified to verify the charges.  I then went into the main branch of my credit card, confirmed that the call and resulting actions were legit and will have the money returned to me within a few days.  If you get a call from this number, take it seriously and confirm with your bank as well.

My call was legit. From what I gather this is a subcontracted Credit/Debit Card "Security" Center (Fraud Detection Message Center) for my Credit Union. A message was left with the last 4 digits of my Debit/Credit card, My name (as on my card) & Credit Union Name (Also left a 10 digit case number). I tried to buy something from DHGate & the payment was processed through a UK (Overseas) Bank, -since it was an overseas transaction they thought it suspicious and locked down my card (Wasn't happy about that at all!). I'm not sure of the purpose of suspending my card when the transaction was denied!? Anyway, I called 877-253-8964 and the message knew the amount of the attempted purchase; I couldn't remember what the amount was so I talked to a person. They mentioned the amount (I had found the amount by that time) & DHGate, so I knew it was legit. All I had to do was re-verify my name and my billing zip & the card was unlocked. Person was from North Carolina (Nice to get an American answering phones!!!) If you are leery of calling them back, call your Bank or number on the back of your card, before needing to use your card!

This is complete bull!!! No credit card company would use an automated system to verify your zip code! They need this information to access your account and validate the transaction! All of the positive references below are totally made up to make you think it is legit - it is not legit!!!

It isn't a legitimate company when they are calling the conference room of a business.  Yes, they called the conference room speaker phone.  Nobody has a credit card for that conference room.

It is legit. I tried to purchase something online that billed out of the UK, which my bank doesn't allow. This sent a flag to this fraud company who called me from the number in question. I called back, the woman I spoke to verified my zip code and then went over my last 3 transactions, one of which was the UK transaction which was denied at the time I tried to complete the purchase. I confirmed all of this with my bank.

I received a call from this number this morning.  Because I have a problem with getting my voicemails within several days, there was no message.  I read some the comments and went to my bank account online, just out of curiosity.  2 days ago, there was an ATM inquiry on my account, followed by a $500 withdrawal.  Today, there was another $500 withdrawal.  These withdrawals were taken at Raceway (gas station).  The last time my debit card was used there was 2 weeks ago.  The thieves waited until payday to steal our money.  My husband is retired army and we live in a military community, so the thieves hit us on payday.  I called my credit union, made a report, my card has been blocked and my money will be returned in 10 days.  I also called corporate headquarters for the gas station.  The sheriff dept came over and took a report right away.
