Called them back and they said they were a fraud detection company for my bank.  He gave me the company's name as CNS eNFACT.  Tried to do a reverse search on the number with no result other than it's "in use".  Called my bank and they don't have a specific name for their fraud detection company other than a tele # 1-866-750-9102 but you need a transaction/case # which I don't have because I missed the recorded message.  Guess I'll just have to wait till the bank's next business day which, of course, is a Monday

I received a call from them, also. Mine came in this morning. I call my bank, to see if it was a legitimate number. They are going to call me back. The easiest way to check on this, I think, is to call the number on the back of the bank cards you have, to see if there was any unauthorized activity on that account. I am still waiting to hear back from the bank, so I think I will check on it myself.

This is a legitimate bank fraud detection company used by many of the banks.  They've been more than helpful to me when I had my debit card jacked.  They called me when the charges were made and put a hold on the card.

While it IS a fraud detection company, I chose to call my bank directly. Yes they did have an open case on a charge that looked fraudulent but was actually legitimate. I went over my entire last billing statement with the lady on the phone at the bank and all is well.

When in doubt, phone your bank directly.

This is a legitimate company.  They called and left a message, and I returned the call - which was the same number that they called from.
This is a fraud detection company that works with our bank.  There were a couple of charges they questioned, and one was found to be fraudulent.  At that point they said I needed to contact the bank to proceed, which I did.  The bank already had all the info from this company.

They can't seem to identify me by telling them the number that they called ( no voice mail allowed on my number so I do not have a " reference number ". The rep then asks me for MY information."NO WAY"! I tell him. " You tell me what bank you represent." " " I can't tell you that until you tell me your name "
I tell him: " If you can't recognize me by the phone number you called then I'll just wait until the business day
( today is Sunday ) to see who is calling.

I know that one of my banks discontinued the use of my debit card as a credit card. They did not give me a list of place that I can no longer use it as a credit card although I have figured out that Walgreen's and CVS are two of the companies that I can not use my card as a credit card "  But there are other companies and I have also figured out that if I attempt to use the card and it is declined I then get a phone call. For two weeks the toll free number started with 866. Now I'm getting calls from this 877 number.

The joke about this fraud detection is that asking for then supplying the caller with basic thing such as the number they called AND your name is enough to work the scam backwards. I wonder when the banks are going to figure out that asking for critical information over wireless phone is a high risk situation. Couple that with not knowing where the person is when they ask you to supply that information is out and out stupid!

I heard a girl in a booth at a restaurant supplying name, SS#, DOB, mothers maiden name, her dogs name, her boyfriends name and the last time she....fill in the blank. Anyone with-in ear shot could have had ALL of that information.

A password would be much better because it is not aligned with the conversation that a person near by may hear. But this is too complicated for the genius's in the fraud department to understand.

Good luck and think before you volunteer your personal information.

It IS a legitimate fraud company.  I made plenty of purchases over the past couple of days and they called my cell phone.  I called them back and confirmed EVERY PURCHASE that I MADE!!  I am free to use my card now.  It is for our own safety and they work with my bank as well.  Before getting your pants in a wad, call them and find out first!

I just received a call Friday. I had to call back with a case number no personal info. It was automated and verified last 3 transactions. The number belongs to GHA Federal Credit Union fraud detection. I found their website and the number that called me was there.  I freaked out at first because my bank has never done this but now I'm glad to know they are monitoring activity !

This is NOT a legitatimate company.  DO NOT give them any information.  They are using this all over the country and do not know anything about the people they are calling!!!  Call your bank to check it out!!  Don't be fooled, these scammers are very good and even have automated call systems.  I would think even the pople on here responding that it is for real are probably them, BSing you.

I was wrong earlier. This IS a legitimate company as my bank determined a specific transaction may have been fraudulent and in fact it was.

Had a call from this number this morning. I thought it might be an elaborate phishing attempt and terminated the call, but checked out bank account and there was an irregular "pre-authorized transaction" on my wife's card. They called again and left a message, so yes, it seems it is legit. We cancelled the card...for the 2nd time this year...grrr!

After reading all the comments for this number on this site, I am not sure what to think.  I made a credit card purchase last Friday and had  MY Bank call me on Saturday questioning several transactions, including the legitimate one I made the day before and several others which were fraudulent.  On Monday I had a phone message at my work number to call this number back with a given case number.  I do not give out my work number to credit card companies.  This situation appears to me to be a phishing scam to verify identity theft info - so I did not return the call.

Called number and they detected 3 charges on my card. They said they may put a temp hold on account. Asked if I approve of these charges and yes. So I may continue to use my card.
I think the donation for the Philippines got screwed up. So all is ok and this is legit.

It is a legit call. I called them back and detected fraud. got it cleared up. No they didn't ask for ss# or any of that. Just my zip code. Banks outsource to these companies for risk management as they call it. No worries!

These people at 877-253-8964 called my dad's house and said there had been fraud and his bank accounts would be frozen.  I called them back and did not have a number they supposedly gave to his nurse.  They also called at 8 AM and the nurse was not up yet.  His bank said all was OK and he does not have a debit card.  I cannot find any problem.  I am considering this call to be a fraud.

Received a voicemail from this company stating that there was a hold on my bank account due to a fraud alert and asking me to call back referencing a case number. I checked my account online and called my credit union's local customer service number. There was a in fact a hold on my account due to purchase I recently made. The bank representative was able to lift the account hold and close the case. It appears this is a legitimate phone number and caller.

This is indeed a legitimate number. When I received a voicemail from this number, all kinds of alarms went off in my head: Scam Alert! However, after reading the thread above, I decided to call them back. After giving them my case number, "they" (an automated system) only asked me to verify only my last name and ZIP code--public information. They never asked me for my checking account number, etc. Then they asked me to verify three recent transaction dollar amounts. Again, they did not ASK for this information; they GAVE the information and asked me to verify it.

After getting off the phone with the fraud detection automated system (877-253-8964), I called the number on the back of my bank card to make sure that all was OK. My bank verified that my card had indeed been flagged because a "suspicious" transaction. In my case, what had triggered the hold on my card was my attempt to purchase software online from a foreign (Canadian) company only minutes before I received the phone call from the fraud detection center.

I think the major problem with this number (877-253-8964) is that it is connected to an omnibus service used by many banks, so when they call in, their number may be labeled as "unknown" or labelled with a wrong bank name.

A phone number can be real, that doesn't mean the caller is. Never call back numbers given to you in fax, text, email, or phone message. They say they're from the Bank? Just call the number on the back of your card, statement, or phone book. Never a good idea to give out any information on the phone, no matter how innocent it may seem.
