I meant to write that it is always safer to call your bank directly, using a number you have, NOT a number a caller gives you.

Like this number needs another post but I will tell you this number called and left a message.  Not only was it NOT my bank it was NOT even for me.  After a quick jump online to check your account or a call to your bank you will hopefully move on from this!

I tried to purchase an online video game download for my son which was not accepted. Then I received this call. My bank (Credit Union) does this, so I am absolutely sure that this was a legit call. Heck, they even left a message.
This IMO, is a legitimate fraud prevention call.

This is NOT a legitimate organization. I have began getting texts regarding "fraud" few months ago, recently I have been getting calls. I contacted the actual financial institution and the REAL fraud department was not able to a single unauthorized transaction or unusual payments going back many months. This "company" fails to identify or give out any other contact information, a major red flag of a fraudulent company.

I can not express this enough, DO NOT give these people ANY of your personal or financial information. If they call you (if you are reading this then they probably did) call the BANK that funds the card and inquire with them about the potential of fraudulent activities. The majority of these "their legit" claims are fake claims, more than likely posted by the same people that are trying to get your money.

IF these people call you, call your bank ASAP and ignore anything these people tell you till you can verify it with your bank!

Well I don't know what you are spkng of but I called the number and used the reference number I was given and they did NOT ask me to supply any additional private info. I was asked if a particular transaction was made by me in a particular amount day and city..and it was not. My card was canceled and I was directed to call my bank and I did and everything panned out. So I'm not sure if some who are on here saying anything different from what I just stated are lying or what...BUT IN MY CASE this number IS NOT a scam or fruad

Legit automated fraud protection service my credit union uses for my Visa debit. They only want you to verify your billing zip; don't know why people are saying last name, SS#, etc--not at all true. My CU has been using this same service for years. They wanted to verify my last three transactions because I made three purchases on Amazon today back to back.

In my case, this was a legitimate call from "Fiserv", not phishing or fraud.  I received a call and message with this number and a case number regarding some possible fraudulent activity with my credit card.  When I called back and got their automated voice response system I simply waited for a rep to answer and did not enter the case number I'd been left on the voicemail.  I was suspicious and simply wanted to identify who had called me and who they represented.  The guy I spoke looked up my telephone number where the message was left and informed me that they were calling on behalf of my bank, which he named, and was even able to provide me with a contact name at my branch.  Feeling very anxious about the situation I chose to contact this person at my bank myself.  Indeed, my bank was able to identify one transaction I'd made while shopping online a few days ago (which I RARELY do) and I deemed it legit.  The bank says Fiserv works for them to identify unusual and possibly fraudulent transactions, and this was unusual for me.  So thankfully, no fraud!!!

WHEN IN DOUBT, FOLKS, CALL YOUR BANK YOURSELF.

I would also like to include that the bank rep that helped me said that since I rarely make online purchases (maybe 3 times a year?), it's very possible that I will hear from Fiserv again in the future about "unusual" online purchases.  Since credit card fraud is so popular, that's fine with me!

This IS a legit company and I almost didn't take them seriously because of the negative posts on here. The called me this morning saying my card was being used in Las Vegas at a supermarket yesterday. I quickly searched the phone number saw the posts saying they were a fraud so I hung up. I then had to wait until my bank opened at 9. I found out it was legit. I use a credit Union and this number is a fraud center that smaller banks use. I wish I would have stayed on the line and talked to them because the card was used again before I could call my bank. My bank said the company would have been able to put a hold on the card. Oh well. The bank is crediting everything back and canceled my card.

Got a call, they left a message stating my credit unions name saying they needed to verify transactions.  I called my credit union and they stated it's a Visa telephone number that tracks fraud.  My credit union took care of the matter and I didn't have to deal with a third party call.  Appears legit.  I use University Credit Union based in Los Angeles.

I got a call from 877-253-8964 at 9:55am, I missed it. I was  awakened at 1:23pm by a call from 800-279-2674. It was a fraud detection agency, I can't recall the name because I was half asleep, who asked me about two charges that where suspicious that were done today. I haven't swiped that card in over a month! The lady confirmed my identity by asking my physical and mail address, she told me they would block my card and to contact my financial institution, which is Higher One. I was 100% suspicious of the call when I hung up. I called the number on the back of my card, got through to the right department, my identity was confirmed, and the lady confirmed to me that there where two suspicious charges on my account and that my card was indeed blocked. She transferred me to the Resolutions Department, my identity was confirmed once again, the lady confirmed the suspicious charges (once again!), she double-checked my contact information so they could send me a new card and told me my card would be here in 5-7 days. Everything was taken care of within an hour!

I did a Google search on these phone numbers, ran into this 800notes.com website, and saw that half of the people are skeptical about the phone calls. If you are.... call the number on the back of your card! Call your institution! Don't just shrug it off as a fraud attempt!

Maybe then you can leave a decent review.

THIS IS A SCAM. If you give them zip code that can be used in transactions as a security measure. By the time you give them info they have make the transactions. All the people saying "I waited till the am to call my bank" sound like fake posters on here. WHY WAIT.. that give them time to perpetrate the fraud and banks 800 numbers are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year... ALWAYS available. So don't call these scam artist.. and even give them basic info they can use. JUST CALL YOUR BANK.
Most the post that say they are real are either fake OR people that were scammed by them and don't even know it. Even if you are able to show charges are fraud and get it back the thieves still get away with the stolen credit card items.

Yes, this is actually a legit one. Had to call and confirm my purchases, they had them all listed. For me this was shortly after opening a new checking account and making a bunch of online purchases.

BEWARE: Amazon breaks your items into smaller lots so when they called it sounded like a bunch of smaller transactions had been made but when we added them up it was the cumulative total from amazon. (its because of the way they ship their items)

NEVER give our your CC information to anyone. They never asked me for any of that just confirmed my home address, very polite woman.

Received a call from this earlier. Left no message. After reading these posts, called the # on my bank card & verified everything is fine & they did not call.
A web search using this phone # shows the fraud division for Stephenson National Bank. Which is NOT my bank & has no reason to be calling me.

Although a legitimate call, it is an unwanted call.  I answered:  "I don't want my bank calling me unless it is my branch manager or I am expecting their call. I do not speak to strangers on the phone.  Have my branch manager call me if it is important and requires my immediate attention."  I called my branch manager just to be told, they do not 'canvas call' their customers but if there is a problem they employ a company to follow up.  I explained I am responsible and check my cards weekly so I would probably spot a problem before they did.  At least they called at a decent hour!  If you receive constant unwanted calls from this number and can't block them, call your bank and have them notify this company.

Just tell them, "I don't want my bank calling me unless it is my branch manager or I am expecting their call.
