I got a call like this about 6 months back. They said that if I settled they would not report to the credit bureaus. Funny thing was, I had JUST GOTTEN my free yearly credit report roughly a day before.  Turns out, they had already reported this to my credit while saying they would not if I'd settled.

I had actually had an AT&T account years ago, but had nothing outstanding.  Total crap.

Oh yeah... this time, they said it had to do with a "business opportunity".  Yeah right!!!! Hahaha!

I received this call several times as well. When I called AT&T initially, I was told that the number might be a scam. After the fourth or fifth call, I asked the caller from (877) 294-5776 why he was calling. He explained that I had an unpaid balance with AT&T, and that it had been turned over for collections. I thought this to be false because I was still an AT&T customer and was, in fact, talking to him on my AT&T-serviced cell phone. Eventually, I found out that AT&T went through a change at the end of last year or the year before, and their accounts were turned over to a debt collection agency without notifying its customers. The calls and messages -- though unfair -- are legitimate. Even though no one was notified of the switch, they still expect people to be responsible for any debt that was not collected.

Pay your bills... Cingular is not closed, they were bought by AT&T.

I realize that you posted this a while ago but I'm going to take a chance that you may come back. If they posted this on your credit report and it is false, PLEASE put in a dispute to the bureaus (if you haven't already). There is no reason this should be on your credit report! One single item on these reports can bring your score down significantly. I know this because my sister recently filed for bankruptcy and her attorney told her to stop paying her bills and direct any collection calls to him. Her credit score went from 790 down to around 530 in two months! So, again, if you haven't already, please dispute the validity of their reporting this as a debt.

Received an automated message from a Carrie Smith.  Women stated that if I knew the whereabouts of a (persons name I will not disclose) to call 1-877-294-5776.  Just another case against this number.

Maybe you will get lucky and they will ACTUALLY remove your name from the call list...I have been getting calls for at least 8-12 months...each time I have told them that the person for which they are seeking does not live here and never has....please remove my number from your call list....Thy reply no problem  -done! Only to have them continue to call repeatedly and I have complained...nicely....they keep responding with "It takes 48 hours to remove your number...I then tell them..It has been months & several requests and still no relief.....just finished with the same routine prior to this post. I have now decided to tape their calls and file complaints and if need be a formal harassment suit against them..... They are out of Rochester NY and I now have the address and what I need to do this.... Good luck

I keep getting calls from this toilet bowl by the name E.O.C.C.A. this is the same company that almost 2 yrs ago that harassed me via my cell phone for a little over a year straight calling for a ""Candy Falch"" which is not me. Even though they kept saying they have removed the number from their data base they kept calling, each time getting more rude. Now after 2 yrs of no calls I am now getting them again as of today. I am sick and tired of these 3rd party debt collection agencies. I actually pay all my bills and I pay them early in fact! If anything these HARASSING phone calls have taught me was to not fall behind on anything or you could be getting valid debt calls from trash like these people at E.O.C.C.A. and quite frankly I am not allowing that to ever happen!!!!!!!

877-294-5776 constantly calling looking for a "george Falkin" wants me to call the number back if Im not George! Why so they can charge me for the call....

anyway i got a  call from  this number last week. They asked for someone who is a distant relative. I'm like how did you get my number and why on earth are you calling it asking for someone who doesn't has never resided at any of my addresses!

called asked for a Julio. Never knew a Julio in my life. They we're nice about it and said they would take my number off the system. Lets see how that goes.

EOCCA/EOSCCA call and leave an automated message on our answering machine.  First it was for "James the 50th Smith" now it's for "James L. Smith".  I've had my number over 24 years.  As far as address we've been here 23 years. We know the people who lived here for 5 years before us.  So for at least 28 years no one by these names has lived here. We are told to call 877-528-3499.  The A T & T the rep I talked to said this company was not conected to them.  I was concered about calling EOCCA  back.  The AT&T rep said it wouldn't hurt as long as I gave no more information than is in the Phone book.  First time I called I got no answer.  The second time I did get someone.  BUT it was some poor lady in my area code not the 877 area code.  She was getting a lot of calls from people about EOCCA or EOSCCA.  The phone company told her they couldn't block the number because it was a colection agency number.  She had had her number a long time too and didn't want to change it.  For 50th Smith the message was very hard to understand like a non native English speaker. .  For L Smith it was much clearer.  Like they had hired a native English speaker to clear it up some.  Talking to others we wondered it EOCCA wan't just originally plugging the message into a computer translation program.  I don't want to bother the poor lady who was very nice. Especialy concidering  all the  calls she must be getting.  She said she had been told putting a 1 before the number might help get me conected to EOCCA instead of her.  I tried one more time to call and did get someone.  I have to admit after seeing all these complaints I wasn't very nice on the phone.  But these calls have been coming for over 6 months.  EOCCA said they have taken my number off thier list.  We will see.  I wrote down the date.  If I get another call I'm calling the Attorney General's Office of my state and see if they can help.

All of these need to be asked to mail you something in writing and until then...do not call again.

I get these same calls about 4 times a month asking for my husband who or whatever this is can bite my ass! we owe nothing!!!!!!

I want them to take me from their list.

Received what was stated as a collection call from 877-294-5776 and a company that sounded like EOCCA, automated message was very garbled and hard to understand. If I was not the person they were calling to hang up and call 877-611-1815. Called 877-611-1815 several times and just reached a constant busy signal or was put on hold until the line went busy. No guarantee that the company I found below is the same company, they still don't list a phone numer that reaches a human being.
