Keeps calling all hours of the day.  They refuse to tell me who owes the debt.  I have NEVER had any dealings with Bank of America of any kind and have asked them to stop calling.  Now I just keep sending them to voicemail, but this repeated harrassment is getting annoying.

This number began ringing my mother's phone two and sometimes 3 times a day.  One between 8-9am, one between 5-6pm, and a couple times, once again around 8pm or so.  They never leave a message, and due to the fact that my mother has alzheimers, she always tries to get to it to answer it, and she's hung up on every time.
I don't care who they are or what their scam is, I just want to get their calls to stop, as she doesn't walk well, and gets so excited at a ringing phone, she'll forget her walker and risk falling in order to get to it in time hoping it's somebody calling to legitimately talk to her.
It's just a basic flipphone on Verizon...  I'm wondering if you're white list trick will work without an accompanying app?

Phony company stealing money from innocent people. Do not deal with these individuals in any way. They are crooks. They will keep taking money from you  and will not remove anything from your credit.  They buy debts over 10 years old that you are not legally obligated to respond to.

 Well, you signed a contract with someone and that contract was assigned to this company.  So yes, you legally do owe the money.  Now, if you were the victim of identity theft and this debt arose out of that then you would not owe it but you would need to dispute it with the company.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

if this was truly a company with extensions like everyone is saying, they would be a landline and would not be able to receive texts (it would return an error). This is clearly spam.
