877-437-1987 & 866-458-7618 are from citi cards/home depot collections -----they had my phone number associated, mistakenly, with someone else's account!  I called home depot's 800 number and checked to see if someone had stolen my credit card number.  The nice lady I spoke with assured me it was a mistake; she also took my phone number off the account they were trying to find out about!  I thought it was part of a scam, but it's not.

It's Citibank_Home Depot.  Actually, they messed up and did not credit  two payments to my account. I wrote them about it and even instructed them to stop calling me. They still haven't cleaned up the error and they still call contrary to the law. What's even more annoying, is when I answer, there's just "Dead AIir" and often a dial tone. These people are complete idiots and have an absolute lack of professionalism about them. But then Citibank has been cited by the Feds over all sorts of illegal activities, paid hundreds of millions in fines and penalities. Their stock holders ought be be irate and calling for top management's heads for the way things are being run.

    little big sis
They just called me and asked for my sister!!!   She and I don't EVER talk on the phone...and have only texted a few times...and I haven't used my maiden name for 29 YRS!!!   ..funny thing about this is that our last name ( my maiden name) is REAL hard to pronounce right....don't think I have EVER heard anyone pronounce it right the first time....and this lady said it right like she new us....

I have 1  ( yes that's right, ONE) credit card, and it's paid up current, as it's due on the 25th of the month and I just made a BIG payment on it 3 days ago!!  so can't be them...and it's NOT a citicard.

don't have dept store cards or anything like that either....

neither my sister NOR I use each other as references....she lives in a different state...and the ONLY time we see each other is when she visits mom.

Now tell me who it was that was calling....

    go figure!

Yes, it was citi bank for Home Depot.  You can get them to stop calling but it has to be done in writing.  The people who have commented here asking them to stop:  they don't read this website, guys, it's not going to help to put that here.

What a great site, and thanks to the 4 pages of posters before me for giving me the 411 on this number.  I get no less than 28 calls per week from this number, and it immediately hangs up when my IP Phone puts it into my pseudo voice menu (used to fish out auto dialers) leading me to believe that the original call is a phishing call used to determine what time of day a human voice will pick up.  Unfortunately if you don't pick it up, it'll keep phishing/calling more often, and ad weird hours of the night until it detects a human voice.  If you happen to be home at a time you're normally not home, pick it up, and dump it.  You'll get less calls in the future, and this company/scam will focus its attempts at that hour they detected a human voice.

We've been getting calls from them, giving us a number to call regarding our Home Deport account, which we DO NOT HAVE! My husband called the number they left, and told them to take us off the calling list. We'll see, because they called about our "Sears" account and when I called them back about that, the woman gave me attitude! Later they called AGAIN, and I told them to take us off the calling list. So I guess they did for the Sears but not for the Home Depot. PATHETIC! AND ANNOYING!

Well, simply put this is NOT citibank. These are people trying to phish information by confirmation. If you wish to confirm this yourself, go on google and get the real number for Citibank and/or Home Depot, and the REAL customer service will gladly confirm that you don't have an account with them at all, proceed to tell them your story so corporate Citibank will take a look into it. Please do this because small action won't stop them, but corporate Citibank will spend loads of money to stop these people from using their identity to scam us. If you have fallen victim to this, your best option would be to get Lifelock or a similar identity protection service. To stop them from calling, accuse them of committing fraud and ask for their physical address to give to the police. Take care all.

Has anyone else gotten these calls and they have left a message?  If they leave a message, I believe this is legally considered a "contact".  I thought debt collectors could not "contact" more than once a day?  Anyone have any color on this?

Phone rang at 09:38.  We don't answer any 800 number calls.  This one was from Home Depot. Just like other comments above, this is a phishing mission.  I have a Home Depot card but never use it and don't owe money to anyone.  This call was to Irving, TX.
