Citi regarding a home depot account. They were calling for the person who had my number before I did. I asked not to be called, but the calls kept coming - 5 or more a day. I called and asked again, but the number will stay on my blocked list, and Citi will stay on my boycott list for the foreseeable future.

I get several calls a day in my cellphone since about 2 months ago from this number.  I already know calls from this number are BS spam calls.  The real question is HOW DID THESE PARASITES GET MY NUMBER???
I suspect it has to do with Yahoo mail because it all started when I added my cell number to yahoo as a means to recover or reset my password.
I already ditched Yahoo mail because I was also getting scores of spam emails as well.  Obviously YM has serious security problems/flaws which they need to take care of if they want to remain in business.
I realize now what a mistake it was to include my cell phone number in Yahoo, but the damage is done.
I have since switched to Gmail, and I couldn't be happier with it.  No spam.
I wish I had made the switch sooner.

I started getting these calls but never could get to the phone in time.  They left no message.  I have just had a heart attack a few weeks ago so I figured it was a medical bill that slipped by me when I was in the fog of recovery.  Today I actually made it to the phone on time.  The person had an exaggerated southern drawl.  They asked for someone I had never heard of before.  Then the questioning started  Was I this person?  Where is that person?  Do I know the person?  Why am I answering this person's phone?  So I put on my best exaggerated southern drawl and told the buffoon I have had this number since 1975.  There IS NO person by that name here, nor do I know anyone by that name.  She kept trying to interrupt me with more questions.  She then wanted me to stay on the line so she can "try" to remove my number from the account.  PPPFFTTTT!  I told her I was not staying on the line and if she called here again I would report her company to the FCC, the FTC and any other 3 letter government agency I could think of.  I cannot believe the arrogance on these companies who think they can use MY phone line, which I pay for,  to do their business.

Got a call on my home phone from this number, which is strange since I didn't give it out.  I do have credit cards through PayPal and Wal-Mart, but I do not possess any type of Citibank credit card.  I called the actual Citibank customer service number, they did tell me it is a legitimate call and that it is a collections call for the Home Depot Credit Card, which I do not have or possess.

It was a mistake for me to call them back, even though Citibank told me it's a legitimate number for the Home Depot credit card, which as I said before, I do not own or possess.  I called that number back and spoke with someone named Angel, they gave me a name that was unrecognizable, so I asked they remove me from their calling list.  They called me 3 more times!!! Isn't it harassment if they call me 4 times in one day?  Also, one of the calls left me a voice message.

Ditto.  Don't give anyone SSN, bank #'s, DOB, etc.  After they called, I called the number on my card.  Citi Bank said its a scam.

Yes, I had a message on SUNDAY on my answering machine about a Home Depot account, and that we needed to call them, they are calling ten times a day basically, and we do not even a Home Depot account and never have, so not sure whether this is a scam as well now...

My Dad received the following official sounding call from 877-437-1987.

"It is very important that you call Citi regarding an important matter with your Home Depot account at 1-877-437-1987.
    Any agent can assist you.
It is important that you respond to this message.  You may also visit us online at myhomedepot.com."

My Dad does not have a credit card account and Home Depot Credit Card service agents have no knowledge of this phone number.  Also my Dad's phone number is on the do not call list.

I suspect he purpose of the call is to get identity information which could be used to open fraudulent accounts.

It's sunday and not even 10.00 a.m. and I got this stupid call to wake me up,  of course they don't leave a message and here we go again with these unwanted calls. It's "Do not call registry" working ? I don't think so, it is another waste from the government.

They are still calling me daily after we have paid the bill.

They ignore DO NOT CALL orders. They are getting fined $2,500 a day until they end their harassment, then they will get a bill, along with a collections notice after 30 days.

I opened a Best Buy account about three years ago.  The company who handled BB credit cards was taken over by Citibank a few months ago.  I only used the original card once and paid down the debt to zero within six months.   But in the past week, I started getting robocalls from Citibank asking to speak to a woman I've never heard of.  Yesterday, I called Citibank to tell them that there was no one here named Jessica and to take me off their call list.  This morning at 8:15, I got a call from a human being asking again to speak to "Jessica."  I blew up at the caller, told her I'd called Citibank yesterday and demanded to be taken off their call list.  She told me that it takes 24 hours to be taken off the list.  I then called Citibank once again to reiterate that I want to be removed from the call list.  This time, however, I was given a reason WHY I have been getting these calls:  my phone number somehow became attached to "Jessica's" card account, and Jessica has been missing payments!  I was assured by the person I spoke to this morning that my phone number is being removed from Jessica's account once and for all and that this morning's call was the last one I will receive.  But judging from all the comments on this page, Citibank has some pretty incompetent people keeping credit card records for their company.
