yeah they keep calling no matter what, if your behind in a payment,  they don't care, it's there job, all you have to say is, if you keep calling me, you'll file a Harassment suit against them.. that helps at times. if you do have a Hope Depot card, or  Lowes or anything else, just pay 20.00 buck at the store, they'll  take it, they can't say anything at the store, it will help stop the calls

Someone claiming to be Citicard, called my home phone, asking for a relative who doesn't even live with me, and hasn't for 15 years. They said it was a matter concerning a debt. I told them the person doesn't live here, and don't call again. Then they said the calls would continue. What idiots!

They have called 5 times in the last day and a half. We don't have a Citicard and we don't have an account with Home Depot. I've blocked them but they continue to call. Good news is, the phone doesn't even ring when the call. Too bad this kind of harrasment can't be stopped. Do Not Call list does nothing to stop this robo calling.

They start calling before I get out of bed. I do not answer any calls I do not see as friendly in my Caller ID. The read out reads Toll Free Call which is the type call used by debt collectors. I have few credit cards and I keep my paid on time. Sounds like a crook of some sort.  The crime rate in our country is terribly high. It's not safe to go outside after dark - I don't. Our crooked politicans need to stop starting wars all around the world and use that borrowed money to fight crime here in the USA. I guess the best place to start would be to put most of our politicans in prison. That would take a lot of crooks off the streets.  .

Called my housemate on Friday about her Home Depot credit card debt.  On Saturday she went in TO HOME DEPOT and paid her balance IN FULL.  The next day (today, Sunday) she got a call from the same number ... she got a recorded call, asking her to contact them about her Home Depot credit card debt.

This phone number called 6 times today starting at 8:00. I have started to pick up the phone and tell them not to call here but it does no good. They have a lengthy msg if they get to my answering service. They are definitely harrassing me. They called at 8 a.m. Sunday Morning and all the rest of the day.

This is America - the NOBODY CARES COUNTRY.  Yes, any body can harass the hell out of any body and NO BODY CARES but our govt spends two hundred billion dollars a year starting wars all around the world killing our best young people - NO BODY CARES.

Call several times a day, never leave messages. I have NO credit cards, period. There is no debt they can possibly be collecting from me.

Confirmed. I get more than 10 calls from this number each day. Even when I answer, I get only dead air. I know is a collector but I rather ignored them than get on the phone and make false promises about payment. The simple truth is I don't have the money. I don't have cell phones, cable TV, or any non-essential expenses. My income simply is too low for me to pay these bills, mostly medical bills.

There is a law. The catch: the request must be in writing, but be aware, that collection efforts, including courts involvement are possible if the creditor chooses to do so.

    Dealing with Debt Collectors

    ..

If you’re behind in paying your bills, or a creditor’s records mistakenly make it appear that you are, a debt collector may be contacting you.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from you.

Under the FDCPA, a debt collector is someone who regularly collects debts owed to others. This includes collection agencies, lawyers who collect debts on a regular basis, and companies that buy delinquent debts and then try to collect them.

Here are some questions and answers about your rights under the Act.

What types of debts are covered?

The Act covers personal, family, and household debts, including money you owe on a personal credit card account, an auto loan, a medical bill, and your mortgage. The FDCPA doesn’t cover debts you incurred to run a business.

Can a debt collector contact me any time or any place?

No. A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they’re told (orally or in writing) that you’re not allowed to get calls there.

How can I stop a debt collector from contacting me?

If a collector contacts you about a debt, you may want to talk to them at least once to see if you can resolve the matter – even if you don’t think you owe the debt, can’t repay it immediately, or think that the collector is contacting you by mistake. If you decide after contacting the debt collector that you don’t want the collector to contact you again, tell the collector – in writing – to stop contacting you. Here’s how to do that:

Make a copy of your letter. Send the original by certified mail, and pay for a “return receipt” so you’ll be able to document what the collector received. Once the collector receives your letter, they may not contact you again, with two exceptions: a collector can contact you to tell you there will be no further contact or to let you know that they or the creditor intend to take a specific action, like filing a lawsuit. Sending such a letter to a debt collector you owe money to does not get rid of the debt, but it should stop the contact. The creditor or the debt collector still can sue you to collect the debt.

Citi Bank is collecting for Home Depot. If you missed a monthly payment they will call you until the payment is caught up. The people you put  for your reference they will even call them to get to you. My family had to change their number and friends. They will let everyone know that you owe them.

1-877-437-1987 called me today once again. They come up as UNKNOWN CALLER. When I answered the person identified themselves as being Citicorp for Home Depot. To verify I asked him to quote me the last balance due on my March 2013 bill which he successfully did. My wife did call this number earlier but says a greeting was from Brighthouse (cable tv company). Based on this I suspect this is probably a 3rd party (outsourced) call center for multiple companies.

This is from CitiCards calling for Home Depot debt collections.  They are trying to contact anyone they think is connected with a person who owes them money.  They call many many times a day.  Amazing, once I told them I'm not connected to the person they are seeking, they took me off their harrassment list, AS WELL AS another harrassment phone number!!  Which most probably was trying to contact me for the same reason.
