i recieved a call from joe cardis's opffices stating i owe a hospital money for something my insurance got approved then switch it over to my husbands insurance, now supposedlyi gotta pay a bill thats over 1000 dollars because of the stupid insurance, said if i dont pay they will be sending out papers supposedly for court should i pay it????

the law offices calls, and says there is a personal legal matter that needs needs to be discussed with me.I'm not sure what about I haven't recieved any notice by mail pretaining to this, just a few calls which the tone of the women is getting bitchier. What to do?

Recieved a call from this number  (can't remember the name) but it is Attorneys office of Joel Cardis.  Stated he has tried several attempts at contacting me (I received one other call yesterday but did not have my phone with me at the time) and if I don't return his call to extension 7106 by the end of business today he will be forced to take further action on this matter.  Don't even know what they are trying to collect?  They don't even leave any type of information so I can dispute this.  I am not going to call them back as they are already using threatening tactics.

Yes, got a call on my cell phone saying he is Mike Marcowiz, attorney Joel Cartus's office, and that the office needs to hear back from my husband, that this is not a solicitation, but in reference to an issue regarding him and a client of theirs.  This is after a nasty call from the regular collection agency where they ended up hanging up on me when  I told her her aggressiveness and intimdation tactics are not going to work.

I'm really happy others reported this incident so I knew not to panic that it is just anothe scare tactic!

Same deal with me. I have already taken care of an insurance debt problem with a doctor in NYC (it was not my fault but I ended up still having to pay a fee). Regardless, this guy keeps calling and harassing me, even though the doctor, who I have ongoing conversations with, insists he is not affiliated with ANY law offices and to completely disregard such calls. So not to worry. Completely bogus phone calls!

Receiving harrassing phone calls from this number. My doctor is not affiliated with any law offices, yet the man from this "law office" insists my doctor needs to collect a debt from me. I believe the Doctor.

Received an "urgent" call from 877-444-4655 to my cell phone's voicemail.  Returned call and spoke to a woman who wanted to talk to a person I did not know.  I have been getting calls about this person from various collection agencies ever since I got this telephone number (two years).  Annoying.

For all of you who are being harassed by the Law Offices of Joel Cardis and his employees, you can file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's Disciplinary Board regarding the unfair collection practices.  Then follow up with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act lawsuit.  Good luck.

got a call from this number on my cell phone they left a message saying from Joel Cardis office and that we need to settle a 2 year old debt.  I don't have any unsettled depts, message was very rude and spoke as if it was very urgent that I call back

Do not pay....i dont believe these ppl are legite. thier tactics are against the law. I wouldnt do anything unless i got something in the mail if i were you.

Donner Plumbing in Albuquerque, NM sent my account to L. L. Cardis. I paid off the account. After I paid the account Mr. McClelland told me I had another account by Donner Plumbing for $117.79 (they now say it is for $103.00). I disputed this charge because Donner Plumbing came back to my house after 2 months to fix what they did incorrectly on the first visit in April 2007. I spoke with "Mr. Bernie" the owner of Donner Plumbing extensively as to why I did not owe this bill. He told me that he would call L. L. Cardis and cancel the debt. I called L. L. Cardis several times to ask if Mr. Bernie contacted their offices and they said "no". I then contacted Mr. Bernie and he assurred me he would call L. L. Cardis.  Mr. Bernia finally did call and the account was canceled and closed in August or September 2008. I no longer received any mailings or calls from L. L. Cardis regarding this second account.  Now I received a collection letter from NCO Financial Systems wanting $117.79 which was the same bill from Donner Plumbing after 7 months of believing this account was closed.

Now L. L. Cardis will not take responsibility for closing the account. when I called Zoie, April, then Mike Donner Plumbing and they told me they sold this account to NCO Financial and that I no longer owed Donner Plumbing any money.  That I only owed NCO Financial.

So L. L. Cardis will not take responsibility for closing the acount and Donner Plumbing does not take responsibility for cancelling $117.79 with L. L. Cardis.  In fact Mike Donner told me if I called his office again that he would have his lawyer contact me for harrassment.

L. L. Cardis does not want me to call their offices because they refuse to take responsibility for closing the second account and tell me that I don't understand them.  

When I was working on the first account L L. Cardis kept intouch with me every single day. I always returned their call. But on the second account I received no letters and no phone calls on the second account.

L. L. Cardis refuse to take responsibility for not following through on the second account by keeping complete notes on record. If I owed the second account why didn't they continue to call everyday send me letters.  

Seven months later this bill comes us again.  Mr. Mike Donners owner of Donner Plumbing refuses to take responsibility for the previous owner cancelling the debt.

Does anyone have any comments on how I can get L. L. Cardis to take responsibility for closing the second account and never contacting me regarding this account as still open.

I have received numerous calls from the 877-444-4655 number. The automated system tells me that I need to return a call from Mr. Dolby about a legal matter and that he is with Joel Cardis Law Firm. A friend of mine uses a cell phone that is in my name and she has also been receiving calls from this number. This has become ridiculous and annoying with them calling every day. How do I file with the FTC against them?

I recieved a call on my cell from this number 877 444 4655.  They asked for my boyfriend, when I said they had the wrong number they aksed for his number.  I refused and they said to tell him to call "Nigel".  Later a call came on the home phone.  Same thing only this callers name was "Mark".  He said it was very important that my boyfriend call back.  It was a "legal matter". I told them to send him something in writing and to find out what his cell number was so they could stop calling me.  How did they get my number yet asked for him?

Did anything ever end up happening? Or did you finally pay it?

Let me just say , i know what u all feel i was a former employee . and they r money hungry nobody is a lawyer hell they probbaly didnt graduate school. i know my cousion didnt and she still works there. it not a rip off its legit its just a rundown collection agency withs a bunch of bums collecting money . remember if u ignore them sooner or later the will find someone else to harass dont pay [***]!!!
