I experienced the same as Kevin, I paid 2600$ 4 months ago, and haven't heard from them. I tried to call the agent but he wasn't available, another person told me that Joseph was out of the office. I called several times, everyday but he always wasn't there and nobody knew where that agent would be back. I informed them that I was going to inform governmet and police about that, because I have never received any copies of document which they were going to send, or any explanation why they stopped contacting me.When they were calling me 4 months ago and asking for money they told me they would send a profile to fill out so that would help them to prepare letters and documents, I never received anything, any profile, any single call from them after they got my money.
Now I have no doubts, they scammed me.
They just call you, they talk nicely, seem profesional, but this is just a game, once they get your money, you will never hear from them again.

I am a CFE and am investigating this company. Unfortunately there is nothing against the law in charging a consumer/client to fill out paperwork and receiving a retainer, which is what they are claiming to do. They convinced a client of mine that they could get them a $250k grant for a minority owned business and faxed them over a contract. Upon reviewing their contract which leaves a two year out for them - SBFC (if they don't find your grant money the first year, they will research and submit your grant applications for another 12 months no charge) my client went through with the process and sent their money. I e-mailed this company from my main address asking for additional information.  No response, so I e-mailed three days later, one from my main e-mail and a 2nd from a ploy email address. No response from my main e-mail address, but an immediate response to the ploy email address saying it is so easy to get grant money.  I did not leave title or company information on my main e-mail address, but when you do a search of my name I'm on over 10,000 pages so it didn't surprise me. I called the rep on the contract and did not say who I was to the receptionist who gladly passed me through when she thought that I was looking for a grant. Once Alex answered the phone I introduced myself and informed him that I was investigating their company and began asking several questions. He was very good, stayed on the phone the entire time, coming up with an answer for just about everything.  His response was 99% of their applicants receive their grants, only 1% do not qualify. They claim to be in business since 1977, which records for their grant business only goes back until 2006. Here is some simple math, there is a 2 year out in their contract, therefore the applicants who are still "waiting" for their grants would not even suspect fraud until 2008.  They have been doing serious soliciting in the past year and a half which gives them until 2009 before you will either see a bunch of happy applicants, or violated consumers.  The reason you are not seeing an inflow of happy clients is because they're all still waiting for pay dirt.  Grants are tough to get. Government grants are generally for non-profit organizations. I wish that it was that easy, but money isn't free and as the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, then it normally is. They did not have any response as to why my main e-mails went un-answered, yet a ploy e-mail was answered immediately.  They blamed it on their computer system. I blame it on me asking questions that they did not want to answer.  If you see posts from happy clients who received grant money, I would seriously consider the source as part of their own positive publicity.  If my client receives any grant money, I would be seriously shocked, and I will let you know in about 2 years.

I received a phone call From a gal named johidda, she took my info and said one in fourty businesses qualify. Next day i call and a gent named Felix Garcia picks up. I mention my name and he told me he just finished approving us for a grant. He said were going for 220,000.00. Felix proceeded to tell me a way I could get my grant by March 15,2008. If I pay the whole $6,300.00 Dollars right now I could in essence jump the line and have the grant in 6 weeks. Just overnight the check with there fedex and were on our way. Everyone thinks i'm nuts, I call next day, Felix says it is a huge step backwards, When I ask for a referral, he says impossible, customer confidentiality. I tell him no way im sending $6,300.00. he was aggravated but we reprocessed. He thinks i sent the check R-12 last night.Don't know what to do? Felix told me he is making $200.000.00 a year doing this and invited me out to play golf, isn't that special.

I just backed out today, my story is interesting, do you want to hear it?

please, Please from what you guys are saying, this people are all scammers... The trick is to pressure you to pay money up front. Never part with you dollar. Because the more you give, the more you are giving them more power to scam more people. Be wise and cut all communication. You can take that to the bank.

I see Mr. Foots has signed up and I would like to hear from yo again. I don't see any complaint from him. I would really really like to know why there are no ACTUAL CUSTOMERS that have ever complained... Really if any of the people that have posted on this website have signed up and not had them do what they say they will do??? Thats an honest enough question. Has anybody ever actually been taken advantage of?? What would happen to these people if they where taken advantage of and why would they not come back here and make another post? Is the SBFC sending out hit men to go and get all of their victims?? Really guys I think this website is more a testimonial to their legitimacy then any reason to question them because if anybody had EVER been taken advantage of they would go to the highest mountain and shout it out to everyone and everywhere. All of us have come to this site searching for information about them and I know that I am not the only one who has not been able to find one single actual customer who has said they are not legit. This is an honest business trying to make a living just like the businesses they are trying to appeal to. So why would anyone want to pick on them??
This is an honest and fair business.
I'm starting a new business and I am going to sign up with them. I will come back to post what happens. Unless they send out hit men to burry me in the desert!!!

I reccomend that the rest of you do the same.

Congradulations on signing up, I did the same and just made another post to point out that we can easily prove that these people have been in business for quite a while and that both of us would post complaints if we felt we got ripped off. Well were not the only ones. If there was anybody who ever got ripped off EVER they would have done just the same thing. The problem here is that after we get funded that we are going to sign a confidentiality agreement and it will be our own decision to choose to break that agreement and come back here to make another post about being awarded a grant. I don't really think that the FTC will come knock on my door with an arrest warrent for letting it out on this website so you can expect to hear back from me and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is willing to stand behind an honest business and give them the thanks that they deserve!

We are a business just like you. I'm glad to see that everyone is taking such an interest in our business. There are sales reps on our team here and maybe some of you have talked to them on their first day of work. I'm sure the rest of you could have made a mistake on your first day of work didn't you. The address at 311 N. Pecos Rd is correct and I am there now as I type this. I can walk down the hall and talk to any one of the lawyers on staff or go the the office where there are a dozen cute young college girls working on your applications and talk to them too and trust me I do that all the time. Any one of you from anywhere in the country are welcome to come to our office any time between 9am and 5pm and you can meet me and everyone else in person. I would be happy to shake your hand.

In your post explaining that you are investigating our company. The fact that a professional is investigating our company and the only complaint that she could muster is that one of her emails where not answered, well that sounds more like an endorsement to me?!? Doesn't it? You probably sent it to info@smallbusinessfundingco.com which is an open email address that gets hundreds of email in the inbox every day and could easily have been overlooked as spam. I have read every post on this page and collectively every one of you has only endorsed our company. As you should have! I mean really we are working as hard as we can here to get your grants approved and we deserve some credit for all our hard work! I will start giving this web address to my customers so they can come post here. In the meantime lighten up a little and come have lunch with me at the office :-)

Have you noticed that there aren't any ACTUAL customers who say that this is a scam? Really have you noticed that? If this is a scam where are all the scammed customers going and why are they not making any complaints anywhere??

I called 1-877-472-6814 and told them to take me off thier calls list or they would be contacted by my lawyer. I asked how long before I could anticipate being removed and she said the lady who did that was not in, so I told her she better make it happen fast or they will be sued. Good Luck folks
