Never trust a caller to be who they claim to be. Scammers spoof banking numbers to trick you into giving them money or account information they can use to clean you out.

BAC never requests a W9. You are part of the scam shame on you.

This is an elaborate fake Bank of America scam to get your information and money. Curse them out and hang up. They use American operators to sound legit and have even posted that their number is legit on Google. They send legitimate looking letters and emails and follow up with a call. Fake fake fake.Remember NO BANK EVER CALLS YOU FOR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!

Scammers still working the Bank of America tricks. Have gotten at least seven calls in the last week,

A call from BofA, requiring my SSN and DOB, saying that I need to mail back the W9 form. I did receive a letter asking me for info updating. And I did update personally from a BofA financial center. The caller kept saying that they were not sure the info was already updated or not because my case still open. I gave my Addr. and DOB but not SSN. I will go to the financial center later this day in case it is really the number of BofA.
So based on my experience and what people saying on this page my guess is one of:
         1. The number is a fake number and has no relation to BofA
         2. A real BofA number but some scammer fake it somehow, and the call is just to steal your info. (The bank give out some of my info )
         3. The number is a real BofA number(they know my name and know I received a letter requiring W9 form). And they really need your info. (little possible but still a case, that's why I need to go and make sure)

Got a call said was from boa asking questions about my card

Left message requesting a call back for an URGENT matter. I called. They sound a lot like BOFA, but not completely. They asked for my DOB and that was the end of it.

Recived a call from this number and gave them information, they staded that it was a call from BoA, then i called BoA and cancel my credit card, and ask for a new card and new number

The caller left a voice message indicating that I need to call Bank of America regarding an urgent matter.  The caller was named "Helene" and she provided a case number.  I did not call back, but called the number on the back of my Bank of America card.  BofA indicated that there was no issue with my account and that they had not attempted to contact me

My call was the same as everyone, I also received a letter asking to update my financial info.

Received 2 calls from this number regarding an “urgent matter” (claiming to be from Bank of America). I made the mistake of calling back before checking online. The guy asked for the last 4 digits of my social security number, but I refused. Unfortunately, he did convince me to provide my address (and phone number) which he already had. After that, I got suspicious from the way he was talking about how they needed to “update my profile,” asking me about my occupation, etc.. Sounded off. I told him to contact me by mail if he wanted that information. I feel like an idiot now for giving out my address.

Message from Bank of Americas so I didn't number that was left on recorder. Called number on CC and they said it is not one of their numbers.  SCAMMER.  Always call number on back of CC to verify if number is one of theirs from any CC company/bank.

Just a scammer. Period. Saying they are affiliated with B of A.

Called my work number and left a message that "we are in need of required information on your customer profile to avoid any interruption in your banking services." As if.

Caller had strange accent. Claimed to be about our account at Bank of America. We do not have one. Spam call!

Voicemail claiming to be BOA.  Called the number back and automated message system asks to give SSN, Tax ID number, Bank card Number or Account number!... SCAM!!!! DO NOT GIVE THIS INFO

Same exact thing as below. I didn’t answer and didn’t call back. Instead I called the customer service number on my BOA card a checked my balance which is zero.
Then, figuring it was a scam, checked here. I was right.
