I have had $14.95 charged to my checking account.  I will be calling tomorrow morning to get this taken care of.  I do not know how this got onto my account.  Wish me luck!

My wife and I just started going over our banking details, thinking this was a charge I agreed to for our credit monitoring service.  We've been charged $14.95, for the past 8 months, and this "Insider Pass-Membership Services", refused to identify themselves or what company they actually area.  I just googled and see that they are a firm called "Encore Marketing".   Supposedly this was an offer from Newport News that she placed online, and offered 'free shipping' as part of the deal, somewhere on the order.  Be careful what your order online.  We're now going thru the same crap over some dog Pet Zoom she decided to order off a commercial on tv, and their recurring charges.

I also ordered from Newport News and got charged this fee.  This is fraud to me as I never signed up for anything.  The first fee was 1.95 and the second fee was $14.95.  Never did i sign up for anything at all...I am furious and will never order from Newport News again.   I pity the people that pay there bills and dont really look at them!

Talked to the supervisor, and got 12 month refunds. Initially she said all she can do is 6 m credits, tell her you did research- what their company did was illegal, and as promised for customer satisfaction in their "terms", you should have the refunds if you did not satisfy with the service.

I had the same issues everyone else did.  Upon ordering, I was asked to join for a 1 time fee and if I don't save on discounts which equals the amount paid, I get the difference.  No check has been issued for the difference, and they have been charging me for 2 years.  DO NOT SHOP AT NEWPORT NEWS>

I just went through the same thing. They claimed that I apparently received free shipping on some order and that by getting free shipping (which I don't recall), that meant that I was authorizing Insider Pass to take $14.95 from my debit account every month.

877-498-7283- Insider Pass has been charging my car for over 1.5 years. I filed a fraud claim with my bank but they can only give me 2 months back. I called the company and they are giving me 9 months of charges back and I had to fight for that. WOW. They initially offered to only give me 2 months back. Are you Kidding me. No way was I going to accept that. They know they are scamming people.

I just realized too that I was being charged 14.95 for something they said I was consent to. So I called the number (1877-498-7283) only for them to tell me to call 1-877-518-7283 and I spoke directly to a person ( whom was Indian by the way and was hard to understand well) told me that I signed for a membership (which I didn't) once I typed in my email address before checking out on my order at, "NEWPORT NEWS". While talking to that person he said that he would give me two moths worth of my money back. Then I arugued that I would call the BBB. Then he went back on his scam of a deal and said, "well wait a minute...let me transfer you to my supervisor.." of which was another foreigner. That person repeated what the first person said which was that once I typed in my email address I automatically signed up for the membership with Newport News. I told her too the same thing about me reporting them and that's when she said, "I can only give you 6 months worth and cancel the membership for you". Then I said "if this turns out not to be true within four days that I would be calling back". Here's a tip if you all call that number and the person gives a hard way to go...tell them that you will report them to your local TV News Station.

Ok folks, we were all scammed.  I'm sure the company will resolve the problem for me, but what about the people who will be scammed in the future?  What about the handicaped people that can't handle the situation?  I think it's time for us, the scammed, literate people to do something about this.  If you are willing to be part of a class action suite please contact me at xdonutcop@yahoo.com.  I'll take the list to an atty. that handles this sort of thing. A payback is definitely over due!

Keep working your way up the ladder within the Regent Insider "customer service call center" to increase your refund to your credit card or bank account for the full amount owed you. (The "customer support call center" sounds like it must be in India.) I have been promised 12 months credit back to our credit card by threatening to have an attorney represent all the complaints on a "class action lawsuit" against Regent Insider and Newport News.  Write Newport News and demand they make restitution for such a scam by offering an appropriate size gift certificate to their catalog or tell them that you will never order from them again and that you will tell all your friends about their scam and encourage them to avoid Newport News.

I did not get calls.  I just got credit card charges!  )-:

Awhile ago, I did buy some things on-line from Newport News.  This telemarketer is related to them.

Solution: Call your credit card company.  Dispute all credit card charges.  Let them handle it.  It worked for me.

i am bleeding fire I am so mad about this, and its my own fault for not being dilligent.
I ordered a dress from Newport news in 2008.  I apparently have been charged $14.95/month for THREE YEARS! The only reason i noticed it was because I synced my accounts with Mint.com and noticed an uncategorized charge. When i googled it I found this website and realized I have been scammed!  I called and, after being hung up on three times by India, they gave me a 18 month credit ($269.10).  I am out $269.10 of my own money for not realizing it sooner - they can only credit so much after a certain amount of time.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!  When they ask for your email address and zip code, while ordering, that is when you sign up. Read the fine print!~

Also being charged 14.95 per month for what, I don't know.
Something about membership services from 877-498-7283.
I pulled the plug on them today by cancelling my bank account.

Interesting business idea; charge as many people as you can until they complain,...then charge others.
I'm thinking they are probably pulling thousands from various bank accounts at this very minute, and more on the way as complaints trickle in one-at-a-time.

The ratio of complaints to transactions is probably 1:10. Very profitable. Also very sneaky.
Suspect an overseas company from India/Asia area.

Whoever is behind this; their actions will catch up with them.

I was being chared $14.95 a month for two years!!  I can't believe I just noticed it..  I do remember calling my bank once and they told me it was a debit purchase I had made-I was dumb and didn't ask any questions.  Called my bank today and they gave me the "Insider Pass" phone number.  After many discussions, explaining myself, and asking to speak to a manager, they told me that they would credit me back one year.  Not good enough!  So I called my bank and we made a conference call to the organization.  My bank was able to get me back all of my money.  Well, in 7-10 days.  We'll see.  Biggest scam and fraud!  Only because I purchased a swimsuit from NewPort magazine.  DO NOT PURCHASE anything from that clothing line/store.
