- TaraThey just called me asking to collect a debt and I just cleared all of my accounts through TransUnion and Experian because of fraudulent activity on my credit. Now they are claiming that I took out a loan 10 years ago when I was 18 but I didn't even have a bank account at the age of 18. This is a shady company! Then what made me really wonder is how the hell did they get my recent phone number. I'm from Cleveland Ohio but I live in California been living here for 5 yrs. I've only had this number for two years in the past ten years I've had so many different numbers how did they possible get this number. And all states have a SOL on debt some are shorter some are longer terms but there is a SOL on debt. But be careful this company is a scam.

- anon replies to TaraWell I see that it is "Tara the Board Troll " pointing fingers and becoming the new board TROLL PC POLICE. I've seen some of your posting crap far worse that any racist crap. Your posts go far beyond the idiot classification. And why are you calling that person a "CRACKER JACK"? Isn't racism a two way street? You are a Racist [***] also.
You and your Racist police can get bent. - anon replies to JoyellGo screw yourself. I personally will say what I want, without regard as to what you think. I don't give a crap about your opinion. Where are you and the rest of the Board " PC POLICE" when other posts have referred to posters as crackers, rednecks, or White Boy. Even on public TV the audience just laughs. Does the reference "Black boy" offend you as well as Blacks are offended? Well it offends me when I hear my race being referred to as a "White Boy", but the PC police never utters a word. It is a two way street. Respect and get respect. If you blast one for being racist, blast all who are racist on both sides of the street and I will never say a word about it. In the meantime, you can get bent.
- Dan replies to JoyellHay Joyell, as many times as you have seen people slander Indians for being scamming thieves, why aren't you jumping on them for being racist? Shouldn't they just say Scammer? People refer to them as having a "Thick indian accent" isn't that the same thing? If you are going to jump on someone for a similar comment, why not jump on all of the posts that refer to the Indians, Pakistanis and the other foreigners who scam?
Until freedom of speech is totally taken away, don't tell others what they can or can't say. - jayI truly hate these people....dang scammers.
- ac replies to TaraTara, check out this racist comment on another thread...just posted.

Indian sounding guy claiming to be from V2 Tech a certified Microsoft support company telling me my computer was infected and they wanted to remote in to "fix it". Told him no thanks. Probably a scam - though I did go online and find that there is a company named V2 TechSupport. I called the customer support number that is listed on the web site: http://www.v2techsupport.com/ at random times during the day and no one answered the phone. After several rings you get a busy signal. Don't give them any info, don't let them remote in! Scam. Scam. Scam.
Caller: V2 TechSupport - CWG40 replies to Safarimom68This is a scam. If someone has a valid debt against you then they are required to send you a debt validation letter if you ask for one. And it must be sent by US mail. E-mail no good. Do not pay them anything unless you have a valid debt validation letter. You cannot be arrested for ordinary civil debt. No one can garnish your wages except for a judge in a hearing where you are given the right to defend yourself. Debt collectors have no powers of arrest anyway and have no influence on the court system.

- TrizzoI got a call from a lady today, very nice, saying she was attempting to collect a debt that I knew for sure I have already paid and have proof of. She gave me a fax# to send the receipt but I actually gave her the reference # from the receipt. It worries me she had my soc. security # but the amount was legit. She said she was calling from SRG. My receipt from my payment months earlier said Financial Recovery Group in New Jersey. I asked if this is where she's calling from and she said yes. I really don't know how to take this, as I am reading a lot about being scammed with calls from this number.

- MargieSame thing. They call using different numbers, but it's always the same people. When I asked the woman questions, I was told that I was "being difficult". When she threatened to have me served with papers, I told her where to serve me. She kept back-tracking on serving me papers, and tried to get me to settle for about $1,000 (half of what she claims i owe with a company i never did business with). She used a previous married name that I hadn't used in more than 20 years (even though she had current address and phone number). I asked for proof of debt, and was refused information. Every time I asked a question, she put me on hold for more than 3 minutes. I have since blocked these calls. But, they called my ex-in laws from more than 20 years ago to ask questions about me. Really odd, since they told me all of the current information that they have for me. It's like they are trying to harass me into paying them by contacting people from my past to tell them i owe money. And, yes, they actually told people that i owe money and wont pay and that they are trying to serve me with legal papers. I told them where to serve me and when I am there. They know where to serve me if they are serious, but i believe it is a scam. I never had credit with the company they are representing and it doesn't appear on my current credit report.

- DuckspeakCall from this number twice a day over the past two weeks. They call at 8AM and around dinner time.
When they called, they did not say "is John Doe there", but instead said "Hello John Doe". It is a tactic to get information, and they start it right from the beginning of the call. - FloridaGirl| 1 replyA mean woman with perfect English (no foreign accent) said I owed money and she would turn me over to a debt collector tomorrow if I didn't give her my credit card to pay the bill today. She claimed she could see that I pay all my bills except her outstanding medical bill but she wouldn't elaborate what the bill was for. I hung up on her but she continues to call everyday.

- Tamianth replies to FloridaGirlConsider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
One important thing to remember if these losers have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!
