- Name withheldI don't know who this number is or what they want. I am deaf, so I didn't talk to her. But they called my mom and told her I needed to call them back immediately, and something about federal regulations and SRG. They called my MOM???? Seriously? I'm over 18 years old, geez.
I did call the number back but there was no answer. So I googled the number and found this site...thanks to all for posting your info, helped me know to ignore the number. I texted my mother and told her also so she wouldn't talk to them.- Caller: SRG

- Jilly replies to JoannaTexas Statute Of Limitations on Debt
A statute of limitations (SOL) is a statute (law) that prescribes the period of time during which legal action may be taken. In respect to debt obligations, the statute of limitations sets forth the specific time frames during which the creditor or debt collector can legally sue the debtor.
What is the statute of limitations on debts in the State of Texas?
The statute of limitations on debt for residents of the State of Texas is four (4) years. In Texas, this refers to oral agreements, written contracts (car loans, installment loans), promissory notes and open accounts (such as credit card credit lines). - mike replies to Resident474 years in Texas.
- AdvocateI am not sure but I think this same place is using this number ( 877-574-2517 ) as well. I got the tracing efforts etc. message and when I called back it said thank you for calling BRG - I listened carefully again (because others here are calling it SRG. But they definitely said BRG. If the other poster was correct that SRG is being looked at for a lawsuit then maybe they changed names?

- JamieThese people are literal scavengers. The most likely reason for them calling you is that they have bought really old debt that is either out of the statute of limitations, discharged through bankruptcy or has already been resolved (or your phone # was previously someone else's). It is referred to as "zombie debt". First off, NEVER acknowledge the debt. And this is very important, never, ever make any sort of payment to them. They will try to trick you into making a payment, however small it may be, because by doing that it restarts the statute of limitations. Second of all, verbally tell them to "cease and desist" all communications. If they call again, do not answer and then send a certified letter telling them to cease all communications with you. Make sure you keep records of the calls and anything you send them. Also remember their threats of legal action or freezing your assets is complete BS. They are preying on people who do not understand their rights. Do not fall victim to them. Cheers!
