- Debbie replies to Robert| 1 replyOMG, I just had the same call!! The person I spoke to said it had to do with Quick Payday Loan that I had in 2006 and that I was making payments through Wells Fargo Bank!! I told her I don't know what you are talking about because my Wells Fargo Bank was closed in 2001 and that I did not live in the State of California in 2006. I too gave them my email address so they can send me an email. I told her why was I not notified about this alleged debt, after-all it has only been 8 years!! She couldn't answer that. She also told me what my last 4 of my ssn was and where I "use" to work and who I work for, she even made comments about what was on my credit report (I did not confirm the information with her-she must have thought I was that stupid!). I ask her why did she call me on my cell phone and how did she get my cell phone number since it was changed 2 months ago, I also told her since she got ahold of my cell phone then can she verify my home address, etc. SHE COULD NOT ANSWER THAT!! So I told her I am not paying for a debt unless I see this in black and white and I want the full information of Quick Payday Loan (address & phone number), she told me she did not have Quick Payday Loan information so I told her "so how are you going to pay them????". I told her "you all will be hearing from my attorney and that I will have a full investigation launched on there company". Goodbye!!

knew right away it was a scammer. Companies do not call when there is a breach, they write a letter and mail it to you first. And already have all your info . Do not give any info to these people, just hang up ! - missyKeep calling and calling and never leave a message they are being reported for faliure to identify

- MindyI will say the lady that called was very nice. She said that she looked at my credit report and could verify that this loan was taken out/ me. I told her that I don't remember taking this out, and would need something in writing. She then asked me for my address. Wait....you looked at my credit report, but you don't know my address????
- Sean replies to Resident47| 4 repliesYes they do... I spoke with the Michigan Attorney Generals office and they stated that there is in fact a statutes of limitation on past dept. THATS why most credit agencies only go back 7 years.
- Gunnar replies to Sean| 3 repliesThe Statutes of Limitations regarding debt vary by state. Some have SOLs of as little as 3 years for unsecured debt. I live in one of them.
Gunnar - kerrie| 1 replyThanks for this posting, I just wanted to confirm that Select research group was just a hoax looking for money that we don't owe.

- Possibly a scammerOR someone who is incredibly incompetent. These people have called my cell phone two times every morning for the past week. They never leave a message. If they can't be bothered to do that, I can't be bothered to answer. If it's true that they are debt collectors, they are sorely mistaken with me. I'm 20 years old; I have zero debt and only one credit card which I've had for less than a year that I've paid in full each billing cycle; I've never taken out a loan. Don't give these people any personal information. Even if it's not a scam, they're clearly incompetent.
