This number called the home phone, claimed to be calling regarding debt collection.  Mumbled their name (sounded like Ed Martin Revenue Group).  Um.. we hit *67 and called the number... feels like a SCAM!!!

Claim I owe a debt. I don't. The robocall message request that I should call the following number: 877-672-0363. I will not call back. I suspect a scam.

I've received several messages from this phone number.   It is an automated message telling people if they are not George they should not listen to the message.   It gives two opportunities of where it gives 3 seconds to all for only George to listen to the message.   The name left was something like Tammie Angela.    I could not understand the name of the company. I finally called the number and heard another automated message stating to leave a message for someone to call back.  I just hung up.

Got an automated call from this number that said I owed a debt which I do not.  Got a person on the line who wanted my personal info.  and would not tell me what the debt was unless they verified my date of birth and social security number.  I refused and the person got nasty with me.  Sounds like a scam.

It's not a SCAM. It's a debt collection company. My Doctor uses this company's payment portal to receive payments. You have the option to create an account and view your payments online - www.revenuegroup.com. If you don't owe anything then you have nothing to worry about.

JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT PARANOID DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE NOT OUT TO GET YOU!

Received a call from Revenue Group. They asked for my birthdate and I replied "no" unless I know who hired them to collect a debt. They couldn't tell me so I said to mail me a letter because I couldn't help them.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
