keep getting them...haven't yet answered, but there's been more than a few to my phone

A message was left on my answering machine. I heard a female voice say "oh crap".

Third time they've caled this week. I ignored the first 2 and answered the 3rd time without comment. It was silent for about 45 seconds and then they hung up.

Get this caller several times a day don't pick up because have caller ID they hang up verry annoying

Same here.  I believe it must be a collections agency, as I do have some debts in collections and collections agencies do not like to leave messages.  They would rather just keep calling and calling every day until someone picks up, then as "SJB" noted they make you wait to talk to them and then hang up or there will be an automated message saying "please wait for the next representative" or something like that.  Plus, debt collection agencies often have multiple phone numbers they call from, some of them even fake, to make it harder for you (the victim) to recognize the number and not answer.

This number calls periodically - usually don't answer but was up to abuse someone tonight.  After quite a wait for someone to come on the line after I said hello, a woman came on & asked to speak to my father who'd passed away 5 years ago.   Told her to see a ghost whisperer & let me know how that goes....

called around noon EST, left no message.  I found the area code in New Mexico.  I've reported this number to the governments Do Not Call list.

I called this number back after getting the same treatment as you folks.  Got a recorded message saying they were MDS Communications.  A telephone fund raising organization for many different groups including political.  Therefore not under the Federal Do not call list.  Went on to say leave a phone # and message if I want to be taken off their call list.  Did that.  Also said it may take some weeks to be purged off all their lists.  We'll see.  You might as well call and try,...they got your number already.

Called 4-15-2010 @ 17:46, computer-generated click when I picked up line to answer.  Hung up!

My experience with this number was exactly the same as that of cbs  8 Mar 2010. After their hang up I called the number, got a recorded message: MDS, a fundraising organization for many charities.  I left the message to be taken off of all their fundraising lists , both current and future. Hope that works.

This # is a scam

A woman caller asked to speak with my husband.  When I told her he was not available and asked if I could take a message, she replied, "Oh, no message", and hung up.

I was getting 1-866, 877 & 888 calls constantly.  I found out what company was making them (MDS Communications) and went to their site and at the bottom of the page there is a MDS Do Not Call List, click on it and put in your info.  I did this 3 weeks ago and have not received a call since. I can't say for sure all the numbers below are MDS's but all calls with the numbers below stopped shortly after filling in the info on MDS's site. Numbers that had called and have since stopped are:

I note that on their removal page they state that they understand if you do not want to be called. Oh, yes? So why don't they honor the DNC list? Doesn't a presence on that list indicate that we don't want to be called? I suspect their honesty.

This # calls and stays on the line without saying anything.

What a load of crap!! The DNC list doesn't do anyting to protect consumers anymore because these dirt bags have found a way around calling you now... they get your phone number off of a computerized randomly selected dialing system. How do we go about putting a stop to this???

My experience with numbers I've listed have come from charities, which are exempt from the DNC list.  What I don't like is, if I give to a charity they can sell your name to another and so on starting a pyramid effect.  Now knowing better, I make sure the charity has an opt out policy.  I've at times caught who the charity was that sold my name because they have misspelled my name a certain way and I get another solicitation from charity with the same misspelling.

These calls come at late night, (sleep time) lucch time, dinner tine. They are unwanded and disturbing!H8H4

I told them to stop calling me and they have not.  I do not know how they got my number and I wish they would stop calling me. Here are a list of numbers that they are calling from: 877-674-4280
877-237-3945, 888-243-2981, 877-696-8597 four numbers.  MDS Telephone fund raising company.  I have had my number for year how did they get my number?
