This phone number is from a law firm called "Trover Consulting Firm" well supposed law firm. I'm currently trying to find out more about this number.

This "law firm" is saying I'm being sued for student loan debts. That were paid off last year. So I'm thinking it's fraud!

This place called me saying I had a unpaid credit card from 2004. Why has it taken 12 years to get ahold of me? If so why havent I heard about it before now?

Is the light? I don't think it is, how do I report it?

Got the rudest and meanest call being told I was going to be taken to court for a student loan.
Caller could not even identify the loan info despite my credit report does not mention it.

Have you heard anything back from them?  I received a call for an unpaid credit card that was opened in 2007 (Which I do not recall opening).  They are wanting to serve me papers to go to court.  They have even contacted my employer.

1. Inform your employer of this SCAM.
2. IF they were actually going to serve you, you would not be warned.
3. It is illegal to claim to be an attorney if they are not licensed and a real lawyer would know my #2 comment.  A quick search shows nothing for "Trover Consulting".

I received a phone call from unknown # and a voicemail that left me with this number. I called and they said it was a law firm/ consultant trying to sue me for a credit card from 2005?is this a fraud number??? The woman who I spoke with was rude also !!! I got a voicemail  today too from Brian, I called them and said I was getting sued for a credit card from 2005... and the lady who picked up was rude and hung up on me ....

I received a call as well, they also contacted my employer numerous time. They mentioned that they were collecting on a credit card past due. When I search their address it came up as a postal annex in California. Seems to be a fraud!

Received a call, unknown number on caller id, called MY lawyer, this is a SCAM!!. 1st they can't "warn" you being sued, 2nd they have to serve you papers, 3rd (most important) they have to BE a REAL law firm

This place is an absolute scam. They called me on my cell phone and left a message. Then called me at work and told me they wanted to verify the address so they could come serve me papers. I told them that I wasn't interested in whatever scam they were running and to not call me at work again. He said someone would be there the next day and I told him great, I'll bring donuts. Surprise surprise, no one showed up. But they DID call back and ask for the head manager, told him the same garbage about wanting to come serve me papers. He told them no and hung up. So, I called them on a recorded line. The lady who answered the phone warned me that all calls were recorded and I told her "Yes, they are". Then some man got on the line from their "legal department", and tried to get me to give him personal information, saying he needed me to"verify".
I told him that I wanted his business address and he gave me some rented post office box in southern California, and I told him that wasn't acceptable. I told him I wanted to verify who he was because I wasn't just giving him information. And I told him that I was filing a complaint because they called at my place of business despite being told not to, and he said I'd get papers in the mail and the hung up on me.

The address they use in Murrieta is a rented post office box.
There is another website that is identical, except for the name. http://www.tridentconsultingfirm.com

Initials are the same. The content of the website is the same except for the telephone number and stuff. Both designed by the same web designer. Both registered to anonymous proxies.

These people are scum. I wish I could take them down.

Most likely just another Western Buffalo Bully working out
of Riverside County, a new scam center.  As is Murrieta, California, same

The addresses used by TCF are always rented PO boxes. After some digging, we tied it back to a Nevada LLC, "TCF and Associates, LLC".

Stephen Cooke and Richard Tilley, under the guise of their LLC, currently lease office space at 38770 Sky Canyon Dr, Ste C, Murrieta, CA. This is presumably the headquarters of their scam operation.

Brian Westlake called my office and in a message I was told to call 877-878-7611. They wanted to know if I wanted to be served papers in my office or re-direct them to my home on a particular date. Earlier Trover Consulting called me and said they were lawyers for a collection agency and my only proof of payment from a 2006 credit card account that they would accept  is a "paid in full" letter from that credit card company and if I didn't make arrangements for payment in 2 days they would take me to court and pay almost $4,000 or I could settle immediately for $1,282. You can't navigate their website as it is just a static photo and nowhere does it read that they are lawyers. How can people who call  lend themselves to such a low down, despicable, unconscionable job?!

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I have reported this company to GoDaddy as they are the registrar for Troverconsultingfirm.com, Thecounselfirm.com, and Tridentconsultingfirm.com. Their abuse department agreed that TCF is operating a scam and has taken all three websites down.
