    Please realize that:
    • Your post here will NOT stop the calls.  We did not call you.  Your caller probably does not read these messages.  We cannot block calls to you.  We cannot put you on or take you off a list.
    • The National Do Not Call list is respected by legitimate telemarketers, but is ignored by criminal telescammers.
    • Surveys, charities, political calls, and certain preexisting business calls are exempt from the DNCL.
    • YOU are your own best defense against unwanted calls! You can use a call blocking app, device, service or procedure to block such calls.

Here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report phone scams, or learn more about them:

    1) First, look elsewhere on this site for an Article, entitled "Where to Report Phone Crime".  (It may appear in the column to your right).

    2) For a more frequently updated list of complaint sites, with links to government web pages, look here:

They called me with their name blocked. Out right refused to give name of company when I refused to "confirm personal information" before they gave whom they were representing. Just kept saying it was a personal business matter; then after my third attempt to get the company name the representative said rather rudely to call the number back to find out the company then hung up on me.

New cell number so getting a lot of calls from debt collectors for the prior cell owner! This number called me and left me on silent hold for over a minute. Hung up, I called them, told them my  name and number and they said they'd remove me from their system. We shall see!

They called me during work. I only answered because I thought it was another call I was expecting. They had my name and tried to get me to confirm my address. They said it was about a personal business matter. I asked them what it was regarding and what company they were. They said they couldn't give out that information without me confirming my information first. I said I wouldn't confirm anything until they told me who they were. They said to call back the number on my caller ID (1-877-741-4113) to confirm. I told them I absolutely would not call them back and hung up. After seeing all the information here, I'll be blocking the number.

calls several times a month, finally i answered and the girl in the other line say, " this is a call in regards to a personal matter, i just need to verify do.e personal information". she then goes directly into trying to verify my DON, i told her " First before I verify any personal information i need to know who is calling me?". she says "I can't disclose that until I verify your personal infotmation". I then told her well I'm not giving you any information until i know who is calling.  She them said well I'm sorry,  i cut her off s d said well I'm sorry too. She then by g up on me. This is just another debt collector trying to CYA in the event you try to file a TCPA suit so you don't know who is harassing you.

A robocall from Health Care Receivables Group that says I have an unpaid hospital bill, but could not tell me which hospital or how much until I verified my personal information and they could not even tell me my name. - A search shows that this company is in Knoxville, Tennessee and they do not want you to know anything about them. A search shows that this is a debt collection agency which they did not disclose when they called.

It didn't take me very long to dig up the information on this bunch of crooks:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

I have called Mr. Koonce and left a voicemail stating that his company has called my husbands work number several times a day and has also been adviced that we have advised his personal on several calls that is was my company number, we were not the people they were looking for and to remove our number. Also advised on hia voicemail that I am a private process server and to call me to get it taken care of before legal action is taken against his company.

I see the proper way to address that problem has been posted on page 3. You should read it and then use the previously mentioned company name and this address to accomplish what you want:  318 Nancy Lynn Ln, Knoxville, TN 37919

Debt collectors do not listen to verbal requests. The do listen to letters and to lawsuits.

"Healthcare Receivables Group" called me about a medical debt that I allegedly owe someone. Call is lady speaking rapidly and wanting me to call her back. Totally bogus, A scam operation. I owe no one and if I did, the VA would contact me directly and not go through a debt collection agency.  Old but wise vet.
