A debt collector could not legally leave that information without making sure that they were talking to the alleged debtor.  Certainly never on a voicemail that could be heard by anyone.  It appears that the information you need to know has been posted in this thread.  You should be reading and learning.

The most unprofessional debt collectors ever! I rcvd a called for my dad and the caller wouldn’t tell me who and where she was calling from. She wanted to confirm my dad address and DOB...they could be scammers for all I know!! If you want something get it done professionally TIA!

We experienced the same thing! I hung up on her Bc of how unprofessional they were. Telling me it’s personal business?!? Telling me to confirm DOB and Address without even telling me who they were!? Who gives away personal information without knowing who they are giving that to?

I just got the same message. The lady said it was a private business matter for my husband and wanted me to verify his DOB before she would tell me what company. I told her I wasn't giving any personal info without knowing who was calling

If you had read past the post from 2011 that you replied to you would have found out the name of the debt collector and what to do about it.

If you call me and can’t tell me what company you represent. Example: hi this Bob with acme whatever.  Then I’m not answering your questions. No I’m not calling back to find out what company either and I’m not telling you my Ss# or birthdate.   Very unprofessional way to do business.

This person calls me on my cell phone.  I have not had any service that has not been paid.  This is a call trying to get your personal information.

Received a voicemail from a female talking extremely fast. Did not give her name, company name or who she wanted to speak with. Message stated “this is a debt collector & gave a number to call back. No other information provided.

Called ask for me by name and I said this is she, spoke out a birthdate asking was it mine? I quickly told them I never give out any personal info over the phone. I ask who they were all he said was calling about a personal matter but nothing else to identify themselves. Told me I could call them back if I need to talk to them. This was a very odd call and if it's a debt collector for any medical places I do not owe anything. I'm doubtful it's any legitimate caller as even collectors give names of the company's they work for when asked.

called keep asking for steve. I ask them to follow the rules if your a dept collector. Then i queoted the sc debt rules. they hanged up.

They called and left a voice mail so I returned the call. Was on hold until "an agent was available". Someone picked up and all I heard was a barking dog in the background and someone sniffling.
