- Jim| 1 replyI called it back and it was just music then someone saying "hello, hello?" then more music. No Cibc intro or anything.
- Ty replies to JimI called them back it is the Credit Bureau of Canada and they removed my number.......... nirvana at last !!
- Natekeep getting a call from this number saying it's very important
my guess is if it was a collection agency they would leave a proper message - Amberkeep getting it too...says its a very important message, tried getting ahold of you many times, if this is *name* please press 1... you press 1 then they ask your name and phone number. Um.. you called my house and asked for me, so (a) you have my number and (b) you have my name
- gil| 1 replyjust got my number removed from list! bout [***] time
- annoyed replies to gilHow did you get it removed?
- notmariejonesCalls at least 5 times a week, often every day, telling Marie Jones to call them back. Unfortunately I've never heard of a Marie Jones, so they keep calling. How do I make them stop? This is ridiculous! I'm reluctant to call them unless that's actually going to get me somewhere.
- not gay e smithMy work phone has been getting inundated with these bloody calls since it was hooked up. I finally answered today and when the recording said to "press 1 if you are the correct party" I pressed 1 and told the woman they had better stop phoning me because this is a business phone and we've never heard of "gay e smith". She told me my number was removed. I still have no idea who the f*ck the caller was. My guess would be collection agency.
- Caller: unknown
- Nicki| 2 repliesI think you guys are lucky if you got them to remove your number and that stopped the calls.
I was getting these calls too (also for someone I've never heard of) so I eventually pressed 1 to talk with someone and tell them that that person doesn't live here. The woman said she'd remove my number but I still get the bloody calls!
If it's a collection agency, does it really do them any good to keep phoning with an automated system? I just hang up on them, wouldn't the guy they are trying to reach do the same?- Caller: they don't identify themselves
- STILL not gay e smithYep, got another call today. I pressed 1 to connect and explained that I'd already told them last week that I have never heard of this person and they said they'd taken me off the list. The woman on the other end was RUDE and said "K I'll take you off the list" and I said "Well, I was told my number was off the list last week, yet you're still calling" and she said "You're off the list" so I asked what company she was working for and she said "Credit Bureau of Canada. You're off the list." and hung up on me.
I'm looking to find if there is some way I can file a formal complaint, but have so far come up empty.- Caller: Credit Bureau of Canada
- Call type: Debt collector
- Bob HerriotKeep getting the call but am afraid to call it back
- didi replies to Nicki| 1 replyI also get these calls everyday, but won't call back, because I heard that when you call a 1-877 number, you get charged on your phone bill big time, and the 1-877 number gets the biggest part of the money.
- duchess| 1 replythe number 877-817-8766 keep on looking for a phony name wanting to know who I am an address etc.
I tell them there is nobody here by this name at this number and plese take me off your list. The still continue phoning. The Halton Police called today also looking for this guy I told them I do't know anybody by that name and to phone them to take my name of the calling list. They told me they don't do that. They say they are the Canadian Credit Bureau or collection agency. I keep on honing them but they just continue.- Caller: Canadian Credit Bureau or some such name

- Hooper replies to xxxxxx| 2 repliesSo I was getting a call about 4 months ago from these people. Twice I told them to take me off the phoning list. Didn't get a call for 4 months and just yesterday they started again. One again this morning. Looking for the same guy as 4 months ago. Told the individual that I was going to be contacting the police for harrassment and he said that "don't threaten me. This is completely legal."
I was wondering if this was a violation of the Privacy Act in Canada? How can any company take your phone number and put it in their database without verifying that it is actually the correct phone number?
If anyone wants to contact a lawyer to find out there might be a case here and quite of few complaints that I can see online? - p.p. replies to HooperI'M WITH U ON THE FILING A SUIT THING KEEP ME POSTED VIA THIS SITE AND LET'S DO IT !!!!!!
- Richard LongPlease stop calling me, I reported your collection agency to the Provincial government of BC, because in British Columbia, there are laws against creditors calling over and over again. Fines can range up to $100,000, but you can write me all you want.
You did not do what I asked you to do when I first got the two cell phones -- because I am badly disabled and can only use my left hand, I was told that they could be voice activated and hung around my neck, I got the Bluetooth, but that's as far as you guys went... so please don't harass me any longer.
Yours truly,
Richard Long- Caller: Rogers collection agency

- NS| 1 replyHi, We have been receiving calls from this 877-817-8766 for more than a year since we have taken our landline from Rogers. The automated call always ask for the person "Febian Murphy". This is such annoying and we receive call any time during the day. When I called that number the lady told me that this is some Credit Bureau and your number must have belong to this person before. I knew for sure that our number was absolutely fresh number issues to us for the first time. Still I called up Rogers and they have confirmed to me the same that my number had never been given to anybody else and it is a cent percent new number. I called them again and told the lady that they should never call me again otherwise I will take action. The lady was very rude and told me to do whatever you can and we will take your number of our list. If this does not happen and I receive another call from them, I am gonna go straight to Police and launch a strong complain as nobody has a right to bug anybody like this and can breach perpetually our privacy and comfort. I am gonna take the legal action if need be and suggest everybody should do the same.
- A| 1 replyThis phone number belongs to the Credit Bureau of Canada Collections.
They kept calling my business number...so I put in a call back to them and my number has been removed from their calling list. Here's hoping I don't receive any random messages/calls from them anymore.
