It's also more than likely a robo-dialed scammer.  This evening was the first time I've received a call from this number, but with the robo call blocker activated on my call blocking device, the phone never rang.  That doesn't necessarily mean it had to be a robo call...the person calling may have just hung up rather than press a key to continue the call...but given the nature of this scam from other posters here, this would be the fastest way to perpetrate this scam and call the most people effortlessly.

And it won't be the last one for the lost pet scam.  I received a call today from FindToto.org with more lost pet BS.  Boy, do I crave a Do-Not-Call registry that actually works....no politicians, no charities, no surveys, and now none of this lost pet scam trying to pass themselves off as a legitimate call of some sort.   DNC should mean DO NOT CALL...period!!!

Call to land line; recorded message left. Obvious spam/phishing robo-call about a supposed "lost dog alert in your area."  Gives call-back number of 817-721-1814 promising a reward.  Claims call is from lostmydoggie.com.

Lost dog 2 days ago - caller even left a voice mail with details.  Did not check it out further.  I am an animal lover (house cats).  Agree with the chip 'em, posters, etc. idea, and do keep very close tabs on my pets.  Had not heard of the "service" before, but like most do not answer unknown numbers.  Could easily be a scam for all I know.

Landline Caller ID: Toll Free Call

I never answer these. Machine picked it up with recording identifying themselves as LostMyDoggie.com and a large dog missing in our area with a reward; visit their website for photos; call number to contact owner if seen (number NOT in our Area Code).

We have pets and I would be distressed if they went missing, but I would NOT want my neighbors being harassed with phone calls.  Thankfully my pets are chipped and wear tags, so I would HOPE that someone would check those two things and we'd get them back.

I went to the website; it "seems" legit and the phone number that was on our caller ID is the same as on the website ... 877-818-0060.  I called it and left a message that I do not wish to be bothered by them again.  Oh and now I am BLOCKING their number.

Robocall from this 877 number about a lost 15 year old Pomeranian "from your area on Garden View Lane." Googled Garden View Lane and there isn't one within 60 miles of me.  Hmmm.  No info available on the second phone number they gave for the distraught owner.  This raises red flags for me even though I sympathize with pet owners.

This is a call from a service called LostMyDoggie notifying people in your area that a pet has gone missing. I just received the second of these calls, the first from a company called FindToto coming a couple weeks ago. Both calls were for the same dog. All the information matches flyers that are posted all over my neighborhood, as well as info found on both companys' websites and Facebook pages. The number on my caller ID matches with their number on their website. I'm as suspicious as the next person, but I believe this to be legit.

Beware of 855 exchanges, charges are reversed, the person who answers pays the toll. This exchange is often used for a company's service advisor, technical reference look-up, etc.

This 877-818-0060 claimed to be from a service to call 1000 of your neighbors for your lost pet.
Who knows? Online people say it's a scam, according to TheRipoffReport.

called and left no message.   You'd think if it was a legit dog finding service like others have reported, they'd have left a message.

Grizz--  I believe this is legit, too; but, this is the second legit call I received and blocked today because the caller ID came up "UNAVAILABLE." That's not helping the lost animal cause at all.

Did not answer; but left message.  Apparently, someone may have lost a black and white dog in the Paducah KY area named "Diamond".

I cannot add anything. My guess is that it is a scam operation. I get three or four a day and report them all to the DNC  list (just two this evening). They must be over run. doubt that they can do anything.

Never heard of them. I don't even have a doggie, which is a calf.

Actually, the spelling for a (motherless) calf is "dogie". Just FYI. "Doggie" is another way to spell doggy, a dog.

The DNC list only applies to telemarketers. Lost pet announcements aren't telemarketers.

I am deaf.  This call came into my Video Phone, engaging an interpreter to sign mail me.  They have better things to do than dealing with calls like this.  The number was listed as from an "unknown hearing person".  I have not given my VP number to anyone but immediate family and two friends, both of whom are deaf.  This was obviously a scam call of some kind.  (I did not watch the sign mail, as I knew it wasn't legit, and would not give an audience to it.)

I received a call from LOSTMYDOG.COM. They left a rather long message about someone's dog being missing. I have no clue whatsoever how they got my number nor why they called ME. Got to be some type of scam.
