- Rick| 1 replyI received a voice message that was incomplete about a lost dog of a neighbor. The incomplete message kept repeating and was quite annoying. I called the number and left a message requesting no more calls.
- Problem Solver| 2 repliesYou can really tell who owns these 'child-substitutes' and who respects their neighbors/law/society.
I called them back. Told them I had the dog. Made the dog owner drive an hour and a half at 3am (four hours after they called). Explained the dog took off a couple minute before they got there. Put them on my blocked number list. It still wasn't as inconsiderate as the sum-total act of spamming five zip codes around dinner time.... so I might do it tomorrow too.
I should start "caniborrowsomething.com". It would call all your neighbors in a ten mile radius and ask of you could borrow some sugar/chainsaw/butter/etc. What's the harm? Is picking up the phone too hard? I'll even make my own do not call list that supersedes the real one.- Caller: lostmychildsubstitute.com

- FredUnacceptable. Suggestion - call the number of the person that lost the dog (it was left in the message). Call them every hour and ask them if they have found their dog yet. Keep calling. Maybe that will discourage them from using this service again.

- annoyedGotta a call from this number saying that so and so lost their cat in my neighborhood. I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, especially 877 numbers, so I let the answering machine get it. This is the first time I've gotten a call from them and I hope it's the last. Of all the posts I've read on here, they were all about lost dogs. Anyone get a cat message besides me? On the message, they said they have a website called lostmykitty.com and I could click on a link to get off their list. I'm already on the DNC list so I don't understand why they are calling.

- Sarah replies to anonymous| 3 repliesYou guys are all such morons. Using this service isn't illegal. When you don't find a pet and you want to find it of course you'll do what you can. Stop being such whiny little [***].
And to the person who actually told someone that they had their dog and made them drive all the way at 3:00 in the morning, you're a rude and inconsiderate person and I pity people like you. When you lose a pet and want some help, i'll remember what an [***] you are. - DebReceived a call tonight from this number for a lost cat in our neighborhood. I checked our community message board and found out that this is true. The woman who lost her cat lives in the neighborhood next to ours and has been looking for her cat since October 26th. She called the service as a last resort. I do not have any problem with receiving this kind of call. The company appears to be legitimate. If someone is receiving 14 calls a day, then that is a very different issue, and they need to contact the company or consumer protection agency immediately. Years ago, one of my cats got outside and was taken in by a neighbor that I did not know. I posted signs, went door to door, and still couldn't find him. As it turned out, she and I worked opposite schedules, and she had taken him in thinking that he was a stray. We had quite a few in the neighborhood, and he was a master at getting out of his collar. She finally saw the posters a week later, but maybe a phone call like this one would have alerted her that I was looking for him.

- tupperI checked the site. You must pay them for them to call others. That makes them a "for profit" company.
In my state that makes this call illegal if you are on the DNC. That means it is a crime. Report it as I did. - spikeThey don't make phone calls for you if you sign up when your pet is missing. they're doing this phonecall campaign to advertise their service, while skirting the law. I guess it worked...except just for harassing me , I'll never use them!

- bougeReceived a automated robot call today-came up as Toll Free 877-818-0060, They provided a detailed description of the missing dog, the road that it was lost on and the owners contact number, they also mentioned a reward was being offered. I didn't really mind the phone call, since it was the one and only time it had happened- however, now I see some trashy people searching around the neighborhood (no doubt for the mentioned reward)

- DominoThese companies call all hours of the day. Please respect people's privacy and call Monday Through Friday at a reasonable hour. I received a call from them on Sunday at ten AM. Saturday and Sunday should be respected for any of your bleeding hearts. You try to make more effort finding animals than you would a human. Get your priorities together or don't call me at all. By the way, for anyone that wants to stop the calls go to Google and search for caller blocks. There is quite a variety of them for about $40.00 and when you get one of these calls you can push the blacklist button and unless they change their number the phone will refuse their calls.

- Carol R.BowlingShumateMy dinner was rudely interupted by this stupid phone call in which the caller said as soon as I answered thephone that this was a LOST DOG ALERT about a dog named Patchesd. I screamed back into the phone "F_ck you!" but the woman on the other end was continuing to talk. I could not tell if this lost dog alert was pre-recorded or not. I hung up after I screamed into the phone "f_ck you!" My dinner was ruined because this [***] called me! I am not on any kind of Lost Dog Alert List , either. I reported the call to the Do Not Call List.
- EstherD| 1 replyLeft a voicemail about a "lost cat". Some people have a dang lot of gall... both those who provide this PAID service, AND those who are STUPID enough to use it to harrass their neighbors!
From a FAQ on their website:
"6. What if my neighbor is on The National Do Not Call Registry (DNC)?
LostMyKitty.com, LLC is classified and registered as an exempt organization by the DNC, thus we can phone your neighbors who are on the Do Not Call List."
GARBAGE! Since it is a PAID service, it should be subject to DNC no matter what their tax-exempt status is!- Caller: lostmykitty.com

- PeteWow...got one of these calls yesterday...it interrupted my life for 45 seconds or less...after reading most of the comments I think those stupid Amber Alerts should be banned...I mean, who the heck cares if little Johnny is lost or kidnapped...while we're at it, get rid of weather emergencies...no one should have to listen to them...just look up and see if the tornado is coming...and, those annoying traffic signs that say wreck ahead...you'll see it soon enough...jeeze...all these annoying things that take 45 seconds out of my day....

- Rough times| 1 replyThank you so much for the tip about"little Tabby". With "Boner" screwing up the economy and all, times has been tough. My pit bull Ozzy was starving. And now all the other neighbors are enjoying peace in their back yards. Everybody loves my dog.
