Just received a call from this # saying that there was fraud activity on my Barclay Master Card account. I dont have a MC account, so I knew this was a scam. They asked me to call them back at 877-988-5553. They also called from the same #. FYI... beware.  

I received a call on my cell phone which I rarely use. I picked up assuming it was from one hwo knows my number. It was a recording saying that my MC World Card was on hold and to call them. If I do not want them to call me and warn me of any fradulent acivity to press 9.. I knew from the very start that this was a scam. I do not have a world card, whatever that is .Then I checked 800 notes and found out who these jokers were..

Just received a call from this number.  Barclay Card Mastercard.  I don't bank with Barclay.  

I do have a Mastercard so I will call my bank directly.  

Got a call saying fraudulent activity in my World visa account.   I don't own a card called World Visa.  Another Scam call.

I just received a call , allegedly from the Fraud Department, saying that my Barclay' Mastercard World Account may have been accessed.  Don't have one, how'd they get my number, they're crooks.

Tried to scam me too!

Said there may have been some fraudulent activity.   On a card I don't own!  Ha!

I DON'T OWN A BARCLAY MASTERCARD. This is a total scary scam. They won't let you even proceed on the prompts when you call the number back until you enter a 16 digit card number. This is clearly a scam - real companies would always offer another way to contact them if you don't have your card in front of you. Their need for my card number before I could even speak with someone was a HUGE RED FLAG. Gross. This is really gross these days.

Same call to my cell about my Barclays MasterCard.  Don't have MasterCard.  called the number from my cell (because I was concerned of identity theft - asked me to input my card number - with no way to speak to  a rep.   Interestingly - if I call using my work line - there is a no-longer-in-service message.  

I received a voicemail on my cell phone--from the fraud detection department of my "Barclay card."--it's been put on hold until I call to verify...I have no Barclay card.  

Called and said that my Mastercard was put on a hold!  I don't have a card with them!

"Barclay's Bank put card on hold".... Pure scam

Got a call from this number.  message says my Mastercard world account is in danger.  I don't own a master card. I righaway checked this website.  This website has been very helpful.

Interesting that most people are reporting that the fradulent call is coming on their cellphone.  I don't give out my cellphone number to any business or credit card company.  Somehow these people have gotten access to cell numbers.

I got this call today and I tried to call back but it said "no longer in service". Then 30 minutes later the same number called my wife. These guys are pretty busy and organized.

I too got a call around 6 pm EST. Message was questionable activity on my Barclays card and to call them.  I don't have a Barclays card. To test it, I called back and it said enter you 16 digit number.  No option to talk to someone that is a clue.  Sounds like some automated calls got sent out encases over a few hours

I've had 2 calls from them, I don't have M card. SCAM. How dare asking for 16 digitsCC# ????? :(

Called me 3 times, the third time I picked it up, spoke to some weird sounding guy, I played along and gave them a bunch of random numbers and even sounded concerned. I kept them on the phone for 45 minutes..gave them a fake name, bogus address and had lots of fun.

The guy was really nervous because I kept changing the spelling of my name.

He caught on and hang up.

Too bad, I wanted the fun to continue.. :(
