I also received a voice message at 11:30 am today on my cell regarding fraudulent activity on my Barclay's Master Card, which I don't have.  I called back but didn't get through.  It clearly is a scam and I'm glad this site exists to warn others.

Received the same call from Barclays... asking for 16 digit ccard number to lift fraud block.

Got a call & message from this number around 7pm last night. Thought it was word since I don't have a Barclay credit card, but my hubby does, which is the only reason I called back.  Sounded fishy didn't since they immediately wanted the card number, so I hung up &checked Internet.  Glad I did& didn't give my info!

I received a call on my cell phone from this number last night.  They hung up before I answered.  I also received a call regarding my World Mastercard from Barclay's being placed on temporary hold from another phone number last week on my home phone.  I don't have a credit card of any kind from Barclay's.  Clearly a Boilerroom set up to try to scam as many people as possible.

Yep. I don't have a mastercard, or a barclays account. Saved in my phone under the name "scammer". "Do not answer this" is full.

Got a call from 877-988-5553 - that my MasterCard account was suspended etc and I needed to call back "to verify my transactonz.".  Call my card issuer and they traced it to a Chinese number (SCAM).  These SH*TS are getting bolder and smarter.  

This is a CRIMINAL act to be fraudulently getting card #'s.  They are masquerading as a cc fraud alert call. It  should be prosecuted accordingly.

Calls from 877-988-5553 are a scam trying to obtain your credit card numbers for the purpose of ID fraud. When I called the # back, it is no longer in service. I have reported this to the Do not call web site.

Called today (Nov. 20) and said our account was put on hold and to call back and give them some 16 digit number. We don't even have a Barclay's account!  So I googled the phone number and this page came up.

Total scam .. Potential hold on my account.  SCAM TO STEAL YOUR NUMBER. I dont have a Barclys card.  If you press Zero for operator they will not give a customer service rep w/out a cardnumber

Got the call from the number 877-988-5553 yesterday (11/19/2014) ~8pm when preparing dinner. They said:1. Your World Master Card account was held due to the fraud. 2.  To press 1 if you're the card holder. I press 1... then they asked for my account number....felt very weird  (thinking it may be a Scam)...I just hang up. I am glad I hang up after seeing this website.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. It is so scary that our cell phone numbers are free for anyone to call. Remember the days when having a cell phone meant no bull sh*t like this? It is so irritating. I don't have a master card or a barclay account.

I received the same call as others from an automated system claiming to be from Barclays calling me about suspected fraudulent activity on my Mastercard.  I immediately suspected this was a scam since I don't even have a Mastercard.  Glad I checked this site!  

Also just received this call, 11/21/14, that a temporary hold may be put on some card, they did not say which.  Left this number and 320-255-8888.  I'm sorry there are thieves out there who think this is a smart thing to be doing with their lives.  Don't call, don't call, don't call.  I pray for their souls to find something better to do, like going back to church and learn how to be civil towards others, especially around this holiday time.

Barclay credit card which I do not have it.  

Received a recorded message from something called Barklay Card World Mastercard Fraud Protection unit on my cell phone.  No clue who they are and when I looked them up this was not the number for them.
