- Irritated Nonconsumer replies to JJ| 2 repliesWe have a new phone number that apparently was previously held by a Santander customer. Even after notifying them that we are not the person(s) they are trying to reach - and that they can verify this with the phone company since our number is listed - they continue to harrass us with calls at all hours of the day and night. So, on their website I found:
We are registered under the State of Texas and are subject to regulatory oversight by the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner. If you wish to file a complaint against Santander Consumer USA Inc., you should contact the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner at 2601 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78705-4207 or by telephone at 800.538.1579
Thought some here might be able to benefit by the information. - GregInTampaBegan receiving calls last week, maybe beginning October 1, 2010. First few calls I did not pickup because it was not identified as a valid number. When the calls showed a valid ID it is an automated statment in english and spanish asking me to call back or go to website santanderconsumerusa. The call never identifies who it is trying to contact, the purpose of the call, or what type of company they are. After reading through posts I can't figure how they got this number to use because I do not have any car loans. Sounds like a phishing scam. It is very annoying because the calls are coming to my work number and they roll through to my cell if I don't pickup.

Thought some here might be able to benefit by the information. - CaptainJack replies to GAYLE| 2 repliesSantander Consumer is an Auto Financial Company that has been buying up other Auto Finance Companies. They just bought out 2/3 of CitiFinancial and so, have my loan. They have a mix history os being very good working with their customers and also a very bad reputation for being a hard ass. So far my relationship has been good with them, but going to pay my car off as fast as I can. I don't want to do business with them any longer then needed.
Jack - sanxian replies to Irritated Nonconsumerthank you - that is quite helpful and i will certainly use it
- CamsMOMSomeone that sounded like they were from Pakistan called our home phone yesterday morning around 8:45. They talked so fast it took me 3 times playing the message back to get the number they were leaving being it was not the same # that showed up on Called ID (which I thought was strange) it did however show up as Drive Financial. From the jest of their message it sounded like someone used mine and my husbands' name as a reference on acquiring a car loan...They have not called back. I have not called them either and don't plan on it. I knew it was not anything to do with a car loan because we don't have one. I blocked both numbers from being able to call my landline phone. I really wish whomever used us as a reference would have had the respect to have given us fair warning.

- GeorgiagirlI got this call yesterday not certain who it was. So I checked. It says Drive Financial. My previous auto loan was sold to Santander. I just paid my car note last week why are they calling again. On their web site when I make payment they are asking for references and job info. Why should I give it to them. When they bought my note they should have gotten all that information. If they are calling for no reason now can you imagine they will be calling my refereces and job every second.

- Pissed off replies to Former CitiI told them that citi never charged a fee for an online payment or over the phone. These rude s,o,b.s wanted to argue with me They kept saying they charge you.. I told them go ahead and argue because I am going to just mail it then. So I put it in the mail. Screw these rude [***]. I only have 6 payments left on my truck.
- Santander ConsumerIt's Santander Consumer they purchased HSBC (whom I couldn't stand)... I will agree with the rest of you that thwy call way too much, 3 or 4 times a days, if you are one day late with your payment!
- Caller: Santander Consumer

- AnnoyedSantander also took over City Bank car loans. They call from what appears to be fake numbers that appear to be private residences to see if you will pick up.

- lgj replies to RMFLwell...actually, i tried that...they told me they don't want my vehicle back...and then proceeded to ask me what i willing to pay for it every month! I am SO upside down in this vehicle that i wish they would take it back! they have started calling my ex- mother-in-law...hmmm...they are very annoying! they need to come get he vehicle and leave us alone!
- B GoarSantander bought out loans from Citifinancial auto.
They didnt notify anyone until after they had the loans in hand. They started charging fees for paying online or on the phone unlike the company they bought the loans from. They are bold and rude and will talk over you as to not listen to what you are saying. I got a call from them wanting to know where the Oct payment was and when I was I going to pay it. I told them never and the fight was on. Finally I told her that I traded in the car just so I would not have to business with them ever again. Well they have called everyday since. I just ask them if they have ever heard this sound, they say what sound, The sound of a dial tone when I hang up. Good luck to all.- Caller: Santander
