- ChrisEverytime I try to pay online their site doesn't recognize our account number. I am fed up to. It should be illegal for them to call and harrass you all day long. I don't want to talk to these people. I paid to citi financial and the money came out of my account but they say they didn't recieve the payment. They have to figure that out. Someone got the payment. The money was cashed by citifinancial.
So done... they call from a 216, 888-222, 469, 817, 214,800-424, and those all came in the last hour. Yea...- Caller: santander, santan, or whatever

- FED-UPSantander is not a company that anyone wants to deal with, they are BAD. They have been going around buying up everything in sight. With us they first bought our Bank that we had our checking and savings accounts in, within 3 months one of our checking accounts got hit with identity fraud and they allowed it to happen and would not even work with the detective working the case. Then they bought my car loan and the phone calls started, 4-5 times a day on every number I have. Plus every 3 months I would get a letter that I had defaulted on my terms because I had no insurance on the vehicle, even though I carry very high insurance and have not changed companies in years. This company can not even keep there own records on anyone straight. When ever you get a call from them you need to report them to your Attorney General, plus the Attorney General in the State of Texas with ALL the details. If the AG offices start getting enough complaints they will start a formal investigation against them. We are lucky with only 2 months left on the vehicle payments and we have since removed all our money from there bank.

- Danthey called on my cell phone asking for Richard (my Dad) saying that he had me listed as a business reference...wanted his phone number...I refused and the lady from Santander was polite and asked me to get a message to him...I asked regarding what and she would not specify. I assumed it was a junk mail call and checked with my Dad..he has no loans, not even a mortgage, so we felt in this case it was probably telemarketing. I decided to investigate further and came accross this forum and feel perhaps they are looking for a Richard (last name withheld) and they just call all the people in the area with that last name and ask for the person..if you are not the person they are looking for they then say that the person they are asking for had you listed as a "Business Reference." They had my name as I always answer the phone "this is Dan". In my case when they asked for Richard and I replied I am his son, they probably figured they were one step closer to getting to a Richard and perhaps the one they are actually looking for.
They are not very forthcoming, but then again the calls are probably from Standander (Driver Auto) bill collectors...if they just said to me: we are looking for a Richard $@%( that has a late payment I would have told them that is not possible in my case as my Dad only pays cash for everything, including cars. However, I suppose people who do have a late payment probably would not be as forthcoming and that is why the bill collectors are elusive. I figure, why not send a late notice followed by another they reposses the vehicle...
Bottom line for me is they are using elusive tactics to find someone and are too aggressive..as they have lied to me, I will definately be very aggressive with them if they call my cell phone again.- Caller: Standander Driver Financial

- naturalstylesThis is Santander Consumer USA calling. They took over our CitiFinancial Auto loan, and now call if I am a day late, even though I have a 10 day grace period. I just ignore the call because I have already sent them a check. Doing business with CitiFinancial was much more pleasant and they never called if the payment was not there within the 10 day grace period. I am hoping to get them paid off as soon as possible to get away from doing business with them.

- Mr. BDunno about all of this stuff that I've read on here yet. I did just purchase a car and they were the financial company that did the lending. I have recieved calls several days in a row because I missed the call, but when I returned the call they just wanted to welcome me and verify information for my loan.

- JudySantander. Took over my car loan with Citi sold their loans.
I have found them very easy to work with. I had to have my gallbladder taken out and while my request for a deferral for this month's payment was denied, they did help me make payment arrangements and everyone I talked with was nothing but nice. If you communicate with them, they will work with you.- Caller: Santander Auto Finance
- odelWhen I first answered an incoming call it was identified as "Santander" in my caller ID; then I said they had the wrong number and I hung up. Immediately, another call came in from "absentee number" and left voice message. Said the caller ID reflected my name and to please call the people they were looking for and give them a message to urgently call back before 5 PM> While I might know who the people are they are looking for I object to being harassed since I am not associated with the debt at all. They are persistent, and very annoying. I have enough problems keeping up with my bills these type of companies should not be calling me on someone else debt. something just doesn't jibe here.

- JK replies to Arlene| 5 repliesDid you know that by law once you tell them not to call your job, they have to stop or you can report them to the attorney general's office? google debt collecting and read the law that protects consumer's. You can also send them a Cease and Desist letter (google it for template) and they are required by law to stop all phone calls. Hope this helps.

- AmyI am totally FED UP with these people. My loan is due on the 1st of the month.I made a payment on 12/31/10 at Soverign (original loan holder) and it the check was cashed on 1/3/11. I got a call today saying that my loan is 5 days past due and when I told them the check had been cashed by them the representative said to me " are you sure it was cashed because we have no record". I asked to speak to a manager and she said no one was available and that I would have to fax them my bank account and proof that the check was cashed.REALLY? I know I have been late a few times by a few days, but LOOSING my payment that was cashed by them. Then the rep said that if it doesn't get applied to my account by Tuesday to call them back. Of couse I am all worried that they are going to come take my car even though its their error and I told the rep that and she said "Oh, well not yet but it could happen" SERIOUSLY??? I just don't know what to do!!!

- AMH replies to KTXI make partial payments and they accept them. I am also 1 month behind because of hardship and they refused a deferment. They will tell you that they don't accept them, but say if your payment is $400 a month and you pay $450, they will accept it. I do mine through my online banking and it's electronically transferred to their accounts so they HAVE to credit me that money.
- Irritated exMy ex has the truck that has my name on it first and it was with Citi. They sold it to Santander and now they call me many times a day. I have no idea when he makes his payments or what. I gave them his number and they still call me. I was told that it did not matter since the debt is in my name too I still owe the money. Well I am not paying for it. They said something about coming and get it. I told them it would be a really neat trick since I do not have the vehicle and have not had it for almost 4 years. That threw the caller and he asked for my ex's number. I gladly gave it to him and thought that was the end of it. Now I am getting tons of calls from them from different numbers. I just no longer answer those calls. They are unreasonable and difficult to deal with. I have no control over what my ex husband does or how he pays his bills. He owes too much on the truck to refi it. It is really unfair that I have to hear his collection calls all the time.

- RidgeRunnerDon't have nor co-signed for any car loans.
Rec'd 3 calls to my cell phone - dead air on answering.
Called back. Lady asked my name. Gave her my first only and said I was on Do Not Call Registry, and I'll be filing suit for the $5,000 penalty.
Lady was polite and said I'd have my number taken off, put there in error, sorry, etc.
2 hours later, rec'd another call from them. Told 'em to verify their information before calling, got the name of the stooge calling; and complaints to FTC, Tx Consumer Affairs, etc., are underway.- Caller: Santander Consumer USA, Drive Financial
- can you say law suitSantander - has been calling me for the last month and a half asking for someone I do not know. I keep telling them that they have the wrong number, but they keep calling me. I think I am going to file a harassement lawsuit against them. I think a good class action suit would be good for them. Then maybe they will leave people alone.
