I called them back after first answering where they gave my first name and then asked for me to varify if it was right... I hung up and looked up the number on google. Which does say it is a debt collection thing... the site looks poor though, not trust worthy. Otherwise there's nothing else out ther about the number.
So when I called them back, they wanted me to varify my birthday and or give them my social. I obviously wasn't going to give that info to him and instead ask him to tell me what this was for... he clamed he couldn't tell me until I gave him the info... he already has my phone number which gave him my name. I went on... the most I got out of him was that the place did a lot of personal calls... no we collect debt or inform people of payments. He kept asking for my social and birthday so I hung up.

I feel like I'm being blackmailed!! A company that sent me a bill for lab services that were never mine, whom I attempted to question.. refused to ever contact me personally? or respond to any of my letters,  and now they have put me in collection for a bill that doesn't belong to me !
I believe this number is part of that collection service ?

They keep calling and I finally call back, and they say they are Rc?! Company, and they do multiple projects with various clients, and she wouldn't say ANY THING SPECIFIC due to " Privacy Concerns " for unnamed clients. DO NOT GIVE YOUR NAME ANY INFO! Just tell them to put on do not call list. She hung up.

Please read the other notes by Tamianth and BigA.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

You can also send them a cease and desist letter.

Said I owed for a doctor visit, paid $142 of a 600 amount. Then realized daughter paid all at time of visit. Need a refund. Asked birth date at beginning to verify who I was. Sneaky way to steal from people. KARMA will get you! _Bible says, Give & it shall be given unto you.

If you paid via credit or debit card, file a dispute for a fraudulent transaction immediately.  You may also wish to report these losers to your state's Attorney General.

I answered the call. He asked me to verify my date of birth or social security #. I asked what it regards to and what co. He says it's EEOCCA located in Sacramento ca. I Asked what does that stand for? He said he can't reveal it unless I verify my info. He said I'm welcome to call back when I feel more comfortable about verifying my info. He seemed understanding. Since I never gave them my info or phone # I wanted to know how they got any info of mine. I asked if he is some kind of government agency? He said no. I don't want any of these types of calls.

    Suspicious
Other people posted that this number claims to be California Service Bureau, a medical bill collection agency, and I have received calls from them for Legitimate medical bills in the past. However, I received a call from this number, the man said he was calling from a collection agency, but he gave me a different company name, consisting of several Letters. He did Not say "California Service Bureau." The call came in on my cell phone, and he insisted I provide my date of birth and social security number for "verification," but I don't give that information out over the phone to random callers.

I hung up when he got rude, so I don't know if it was legitimate call this time or not.
    • Caller: It was several Letters, not a Name, and I can't remember what they were.

They call and will not identify themselves, they just throw out some letters. When pressed, they act like dicks.
