I've been receiving calls from 888-240-0182 for two weeks now. At least once or twice a day, always Beth from Global Services. Also received robo calls.  I called them back & got a man who identified himself as Mark Maxwell, he knew my first name without me giving it. He said the matter involved my daughter-in-law, he referred to her by her maiden name. I said she hasn't used that name for 10 years.  He said it was about a case that involved her & he couldn't discuss it with me. He asked for her number but I didn't give it to him. He gave me a different number for her to call him back on.  She & my son researched it & discovered it was a scam so she didn't call him back.  I thought that might be the end of it but today I get another message from Beth at Global Services!

Beth from Global Services has called my cell phone a total of 38 times as of March 9th from 11 different numbers. Some are from my own area code. 1 from Illinois 1 from Pennsylvania and the rest came up as unkown caller. I really wish there was a way to find Beth and her friends. They're a constant source of aggravation for an over active imagination.

You have to find them first.  My suspicion is that they are an off-shore group.  Possibly located in the Caribbean somewhere.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

have blocked on alll phones at my house including my teenagers same as all other comments being beth from global services. However its definitely a spoofed number as it shows with my area code (207) .  I hate these people with a vengeance

Same as everyone else 3 times today alone - Beth form Global Services call back regarding a personal matter.  I don't intend to call back as it is a guaranteed scam.  We have been on the DNC list since it began but nothing stops these idiots from trying get your hard earned money.

Calls started coming yesterday, and have continued today.  They are from a Portland, ME # in the digital read-out, but Beth asks that we call the same # others have referenced.  First calls were on our answering machine, and the one today, we recognized the # and did not answer.

I had the same exact voicemail too. Never answer it.

Well, no, being on the DNC list doesn't stop scammers from calling as they are criminals and could care less about the law. Try a call blocker.

Called me from an Astoria, OR phone number.  I live in Oregon, so they're likely spoofing area codes/prefixes in the same region as the target to try to boost legitimacy.

Got the call over the weekend from an Astoria OR phone number, voicemail was cut off at the beginning but said "...400182 regarding a personal matter."

Received 1 call yesterday, one today from: 888-240-0182, Global Services.  They said that "Elizabeth Wiley" had used my name as a "reference".

I would like information how to file a law suit against these people. Who do I talk to, who do I have to see????

I keep getting calls from a women named Beth with Global Services asking me to call 999-240-0182 in Idaho please report this number I think it is a scam.

Just like the other callers, the message is the same.. To call Beth from global services.  Call generated from 916 and 530 area code...very frustrating... Definitely a scam call!!!

Keeps leaving a message to call back at 888-240-0182. Her name is Beth. I will not be calling back.

This is how the call goes. (Automated voice) Hi, this is a call for "blah blah blah", if this not "blah blah blah", please hang-up and disregard. If you are "blah blah blah", please press "0" or call us back at 888-240-0182. Once transferred to a person, they tell you its Global Services, and you took out a Pay Day Loan on XX/XX/XXXX date in the amount of $XXX and they're trying to collect and they are offering you a "settlement" in order to clear this up. That's when I told them to kiss my [***] and hung up. I'm sure they're going to tell you something about a warrant being issued and legal problems. I believe it's SCAM!!! /i will post this under the call back number also.
