I received a call from 1-888-242-2100 which is actually the CIC number! The guy named "Peter" claimed to be a CIC agent and said I have a legal case from my back country and a "license of deportation" has been issued and I should stay home and remain "on-line" while officers get to my house. The guy seemed very serious with an indian accent. They asked for 2500$ to get me lawyers!!! and even gave me an adress to go to and pay the fee :D, when I said I have to confirm this issue with 911 they hung up.

Got a call from 888-242-2100. He said his name is Glen Morgan, and gave me a case number. He said he received information from my home country to deport me. Surprisingly, he knew my home country, he knew my Name, email ID, date of birth. He asked me to inform when I landed in Canada, when I last visited my home country, where my family was in my home country. He had a South Asian accent. I asked him how to verify that call is genuine, he asked to google the number - and sure enough the number shows as CIC Call center number. After some more discussions, he asked for Passport number, asked where I was living now. Meanwhile I checked some more google links and saw this fraud reports, and told him there is a link for fraud on this number. He started getting irritated. I asked him can I call him back to confirm, or come to visit in office - he was very evasive, said he needs to get details first, else it will be marked as incomplete case and police will deport immediately. Finally, since I was not providing information, he started threatening that police will come in 25 mins, pack your bags and be ready, they will deport you immediately.  It is very disturbing to go through this call, very nerve wrecking. Hope these guys are caught soon.

My mum got 2 calls from this number today. She is 83years old and the caller was trying to get my sisters information from my mum. My mum is very freaked out. Shes been in Canada for over 30years now and never had any problems. The caller also threatened her to send the cops on her. My mum is very upset. These scammers should be stopped from harassing people specially the elderly citizens

They told us that we have not updated our foreign control number on landing so there is a legal case against us  and we could be deported..when we asked for solution, the guy disconnected the line.

He said that he is calling from Canada immigration, you didn't update your IFCC or whatever number with the government. As a result, you will be deported, if you don't want us to deport you, you have to come to the closest airport at custom to clarify everything and bring 500$ as a security deposit in prepaid cards. During this whole call, he wasn't allowing me to put his phone on hold or cut his phone, he said that if you do so, govt will think you are running from us. fu**********************************

Guy called form the CIC number as listed above, classic Indian accent with the confident of a cool cat. Said that he needed to speak with my wife, and he had her name somehow. He said he was from 'Fedex Courier Services' and said that a signature will be needed, even asked me when she'll be home. (likely so he could try to extort me by threatening to coming to my house at that time) I told him, "I would have time to explain to you why I can't tell you this information, but I know you're busy making scam calls so I'll let you go now." I hung up on him, called the CIC just in case and everything was all good.

TIP: If you ever hear an Indian accent calling you with an already-shaky premise, you should listen for the 'Sir' at the end of the sentence for your queue to hang-up. The working class in Southern Asia (mostly India) use the term 'Sir' at the end of their sentences when talking to superiors, such as office managers or bosses. Of course, they use the same term to show endearment towards your own case. Hear the 'Sir', end the call.
