Got a call from Steve Wilson also. Refuses to mail anything to me to validate the debt.  He was pretending to be someone from Cook County calling my job and speaking to supervisors.  The entire time he is not. He is not an attorney. He is someone who works for the "legal department" supposedly.

They called me today stating that they were pressing charges against me for check fraud. I asked them if they had a copy of the check. They said yes and I asked them if my name was on the check they stated yes. Funny thing is I haven't written a check for some years now.

People it is really scary that they can get your SS# and phone numbers but I do believe that they are fraudluent.

They now are calling out Texas and using 512-772-4267 or 888-266-2579 so please beware.

A lady named Stephanie from Zenith Financial called from this number and left a message saying that she needed to discuss a matter with me. They had outdated information on me for the most part, but did know the last 4 digits of my social. I told her that I would be happy to settle any matter with her, but I would need an address where I could contact them in writing. They somehow did not have this information? Also, the lady asked me to hold when I asked for that info, so I guess she had consult with someone first.. So, she says she is going to send me an email with the account information, which I never received. I'm actually already handling said account with another company so I figured it it was a scam.

They called me asking for my sister. They did not know that I was not my sister. They tried to scam my sister. I am making a complaint because they got my phone number some how but the wrong person. How can they legally do that. I don't know what type of call it was. They told me she was being investigated and they needed to ask her questions. She told my it was a debt collector call type.

What a joke.. Calling 3 times a day.. Asked to stop calling and harassing me, their answer "NO"  they will not stop the calls.. Said they would only speak to me if I had retained a lawyer... HAHAHA  They did tell me that he collections was from 1999.... Good luck to you...  One more thing.. they use local area phones to call you. So you dont see an 800 or out of state #.... Their way of conducting business, and the threats made to achive their goals... If I made those threats I be in jail.. for making threats or terrorist threats.. This company needs to be stopped.

These jokers really think I would give them my CURRENT information?! Yea right, they were rude, claimed the very loud call center was their "headquarters" and this "man" was in charge.  This is harassment and I'll be calling police to file a report.

This company called me and said they were calling me in regards of an unpaid balance of $410. They had enough of my information to make them sound believable. I, like an idiot, agreed to pay them and they only wanted to get the money off of a prepaid card. I paid them the money and they called back saying it was declined but my statement says it was taken out. What can I do to get my money back. That is a lot of money to lose.

Just got a call from them,, they say im going to jail if im already on probation for check fraud otherwise they are just going to charge me another 1350 dollars plus court fees and put me in a database,, we got in a heated argument and they hung up on me,, i verified the last 4 of my social because in the beginning of the call they pretended to be my bank

I also was contacted , he stated his name was richard goldberg , and i owed them 1600 dollars on a payday loan i did not pay back, this is such horse crud, we we are trying to make ends meet in life and scum is out there making it even harder on us.

i got a call today.  they said they have had my information for about 48 hour and if i didn't pay today they would start the process of civil law suit and that i could be charged with a felony3  for bank fraud.  while this is a legit debt i know that i cant be charged criminally for a payday loan and i have talked to my bank and they are not pursuing anything.  i just need to know what i should do to stop these people.  they also called my parents.  i have no clue how they got their number.

I just got a call at my work from them and I have no idea who they are.

These people originally called me from a phone number with MY area code.
888-266-2579 is number is the number they gave me to call them back.

This someone calling to speak to my friend's sister! They claimed she gave my phone number as a reference (unbeknownst to me). So I told them I didn't know what the heck they were talking about and to lose my phone number. The man, "Francis", on the phone was rude & refused to tell me his company's name and said he would "only take my number off the list IF I agreed to pass along the phone number and reference number on the case".

Then come to find out, 2 minutes after they called me, they called the girl's brother & left HIM a message. I told him what had happened to me, so he called to have HIS number removed from their system... he then asked for the woman who left the message, but they told him "she is the court liason and isn't available and the call was in reference to a fraudulent check case and was time sensitive and was imperative that they reached the 'debtor' immediately."

Now after reading all of this crap, I wonder what to do next!

Got a call on my job today Zenith Financial Network, Inc. with a generate number from the Orange County, CA area (949-281-1858).  I answered, and it was a recording telling me that I need to talk with them about an important matter, then the recording told me to call this 888-266-2579.  These companies hire people to fish call so that they can bait and hook a victim. I make sure I write the names/numbers down and post it in my telephone scam file.

Got a call from (805) 436-XXXX number.  The woman who left a message said she was calling from Zenith Financial on a very urgent matter.  She didn't even say whom she's leaving the message for, so I don't intend on answering the call/message.  

I do thank everyone who has commented on the type of individuals and companies who leave these messages.

First of all, i,m glad to see i,m not alone in the "HUGE" amounts of calls i get from BOGUS, so called "legal action collection company"! I, as of the rest of you, "always" let the "unknown caller", calls i get go to voice mail, which 99% of the time NEVER leave a message. (thank god for caller id)! I get calls from the 888-266-2579 number about 4-5 times a day!! I "finally" got a voice mail from the number yesterday---went something like this---"He was looking for me (said my name, & that he was working with & for the county i live in), to collect a debt. He did not specify the nature of the debt, he just said he needed an official statement from me concerning my doings in conning & defrauding a lending institution that has contracted them in collection enforcement! His name was CHRIS GARVEY, and stated if he didnt hear back from me within 24hrs, i WILL be having the proper authorities at my door!!!"----IS THIS FOR REAL???   Hope to hear from anyone with advice, & how & where do i file charges against them IF they are bogus!!  THANKS!

Every once in a while, I would get these scam calls. All the better reason to never record your own vm greetings. Anyways, I don't answer calls from numbers that I'm not familiar with. If it were truly that important, they will leave a detailed message. I got a call from a local number 240-455-0232 but the caller had stated that there was an important business matter she would like to discuss with me and to call 888-266-2579. Theres no way im calling them back. Although I will admit the called actually sounded very professional.

My mother received a call from this number, we are in OH. Claimed he needed to serve papers, that I had committed bank fraud.

For the last week or so this number 1-888-266-2579 & someone named Nina keep calling my job & once on my cell.  She keeps threatining me with police & got so rude today that she hung up on my boss at work.  I am not allowed to receive personal phone calls at work & they are monitored.  I better not get in trouble with my employer over this.  This lady is very rude.  Every couple of months it seems this happens & it's always traced to a number/company in boca rotan, florida.
