This is the when you use your credit card to put minutes in a prepaid phone. I called and talked to someone at Verizon and if you or if you allowed anyone to use your card to put money on a prepaid phone this is why the charge is showing up. If noon of the above applies i have no idea!

This charge was on my PayPal Master Card. I placed a call to the 888-294-6804 number and selected Option #2, and spoke to a CSR who then informed me that in order to get the charges reversed I had to contact my card holder, that they could not do anything without the actual wireless number that was used to purchase the minutes. I then escalated the call to his Supervisor and then kept getting the same excuse as above, demanding to speak to the Supervisors boss.

I also experienced a charge against my charge card from VZWRLSS*ECARS OT 888-294-6804 CA.  When I call the 888-294-6804 it asks for a 10 digit verizon wireless number, which, obviously I do not have.  When it asked for English or Spanish, I pressed 0 hoping to get a human being.  No luck.  It required the 10 digit number again.  I then filed a dispute with my credit card company.  I am thankful for this site and the testimony appearing here.

I'm not being called by this number, but someone is charging my debit card at $58.13 a pop. It happened twice this past weekend. My bank has canceled my card and I'm putting through disputes to get reimbursed. They'll investigate. I'm not sure how this happened. I'm still in possession of my card.

OVERDREW HER ACCOUNT AND IT TOOK AN ACT OF GOD TO GET IT BACK.  VERIZON IS NOT A HELP, BELIEVE ME.  THE BANK IS INVESTIGATING FOR FRAUD.  THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO USE IT BUT THANK GOD HER ACCOUNT IS NOW FLAGGED FOR REGULAR REVIEW.

They didn't call me, but I had a charge of $100 twice on 12/21 on my bank statement.  I found it this morning when I checked my online account, which I do every morning.  I immediately did a google search to find what I could, which led me here.  On my online statement, the company is listed as "VZWRLSS*ECARS O" and I knew I had not used my card to pay for anything remotely resembling this.  I'm shocked if it is truely Verizon, but something tells me it is a fraudulent company wanting to look like them.  When they get busted, I hope they fry.  Right here at Christmas is a really bad time for this to happen.  I've called Verizon and they gave me the number to the fraud department.  I left a message and told them my brother is an attorney and I'm sure he will be happy to help me resolve this.  Best of luck to you all.  And Merry Christmas!

I have the same charges on my bank account from "VZWRLSS*ECARS OT", charged 3 times.  They used my credit card/debit card to charge my account.   I reported fraud through my bank and called Verizon wireless, 1-800-922-0204. They transferred me to "phone prepay".  Everyone was so nice, but I kept getting transferred from dept to dept.  No satisfaction.  My bank rocks though, I've reported this to fraud with them and the police department.

My purse including my debit/credit card was stolen and used 7 times last night, 6 at $1 and then 1 time at $54.20, all showing up as VZWRLSS*ECARS OT!  It is to easy for people to pay for things over the phone with stolen debit/credit cards!  I have to wait until tomorrow to work this through my bank.  I also filed a police report.

This happened to me yesterday. I never called any number either. The charge just showed up on my bank account. I believe that my call log will be helpful in putting this to rest, since there is no record of any call from my phone to this number.

My wallet was stolen last night in SD, and all of my debit and credit cards are showing $1 or $100 charges to this number since last night.  If anyone has any more info that leads to these thiefs, please post it here.  Thanks.

We used a credit card to fax info to a hotel in Palm Spings, then a couple days later charges for theVZWRLSS*ECARS behan showing up, but my bank recognized them as fraud and contacted me. The theifs also tried to buy pizza from two places in Palm Springs and I thing gas too, but my bank had already caught on and the charges were (luckily) declined. I see someone else here was in Southern California. It would be interesting to know if other people who posted here were also from or in SoCal when this happened to them.

Currently deployed to Iraq and made several purchases on amazon.com with my card for Christmas presents for family. That is the only thing I have used it for in the last month or two. I cancelled my card and submitted fraud clame to bank. Only thing i can think of is if amazon is based out of Cali or if one of the companies I ordered stuff from through amazon is, either way I'm going to get in touch with amazon.

Cancel your card right away! I just looked on my online banking and two charges, one for 106.50 and 159.75 came through- of course I don't use Verizon. Make sure to go to your bank and or credit card company right away because you won't get any help from Verizon I'm sure. The fraud dept will do the dirty work so report it right away. People suck!

Yep. Cancel your cards right away. Verizon Wireless won't have any idea of these fraud charges because the company's name and phone number is being used -that's why they can't help. When you call the 888 number it will ask for a 10 digit phone number before you can proceed to charge the card- to buy or pay balance - if not, it will transfer to CSR. I feel bad for Verizon Wireless as they are getting hammered by calls made by these fraud modus operandi.

I was helping my mother today with some charges on her credit card from "Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca" no one is able to track who this is.  Verizon knows nothing about it, the credit card company will only go back 60 days and the charges started in Feb 07.
