- robert haneyi don't know who or what this number is but they are takeing money out of my account and i want to know who and what i can do about it
- nikki replies to nickThis charge appears from using your card on a verizon wireless prepay phone. It will automatical hit your card when your cell phone balance is below $5.00. If you do not have a prepay verizon cell call verizon wireless and ask for prepay department they will let you know what phone number is receiving the credit and can stop it.
Good luck - KrisCount me in. My debit card was hit today. 13 times from this outfit: VZWRLSS*ECARS OT 888-294-6804 CA.
- MoniqueThey did the same thing to me. Verizon is either doing this scam as an inside job and hoping that consumers blind their eyes to the name Verizon. Or someone is scamming and using Verizon's name. Verizon knows that people aren't going to be convinced that someone else is using they're name in a scam and seek compensation legally, so they send you to an automated system to brush you off. I would never use Verizon in my life.
Spoke to two nice reps who said these were prepaid cell phone transactions, but they could not say from who because they did not know. - I Bailey replies to nickThis number and name shows on my bank account when I make an auto payment over my Verizon Wireless bill using the #PYMT number they provide.
- brown sugarmy checkin acct was hit 3 times 2 for $21.37 and one for $42.74. i called verizon and they had no clue. i went to my credit union and disputed the charges. its hard to believe this has been going on for this long. you would think with an electronic trail it could be traced back to someone. debits cards are good to use. but i think i might go back to carrying cash. everytime i give my card to a waitress to pay the bill i cant help but think there writing down my numbers. the last time my card was out of my possesion soon after the verizon charges showed up.
- pissed off!I didn't receive a call from them, but my car was broken in which my wallet was taken and within minutes they made a 200.00 charge on my debit card as a Verizon Wireless*ECARS OT payment. Who or What is this ECARS OT???
- Digger DanMy wife and I were going over our monthly check statement. Both of our kids have Verizon prepaid phones and we have used our debit/credit cards to put money on their phones. On this past months statement it shows the charges 7 times for the amount of $21.60 within two weeks!!!!! We know the cost every month and what it should be. We called Verizon and our bank. We had to cancel our bank cards and fill out a police report, verizon was no help......just cancel your bank cards immediately and report the fraud!!!!!
- ReallyANGRY replies to mark- verizon wireless prepaid rep| 4 repliesNOT TRUE at all.. VERIZON took money out of my account and I do NOT have verizon wireless and YOUR COMPANY is trying to take the money IRREGARDLESS. IT put me in the negative and I'm currently seeking a lawyer and will be contacting the POLICE as soon as the bank is done.

- annoyedWe were on our honeymoon in Hawaii last week and rented a car with Alamo. My husband just received his bank statement and noticed "Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca " on his statement multiple times. I am not accusing Alamo at this time, but the charges were made on the same day that we returned the car. He is canceling his bank card as we speak... and will have a nice conversation with the shoddy Alamo location we rented from. Thank you for all of the comments on this scam thus far. We would have been investigating for days.
- Stephy replies to windy| 1 replyThis same thing has happened to me I do not own a verizon phone and have never had one. I am very carefull with my cards no one has access to my accounts. I have had $200.00 charged on my debit card as well as close $150 on two other credit cards I have. I have no idea how they would get my infomation. Very SCARY!
- Reaver replies to StephenAny luck with that, and if so...count me in! They just got me and I'm dealing with the bank as of this time. A year after your post, and I've read some from 2007 -- is the FTC doing anything at all about this?
- KimI have been seeing money coming from my account as well from this scam company how ever it started after i bought some business cards from vista print. if there is any one out there that can help. please write me back. if we ever depend on a card and go paperless in this world so many people will be screwed.
- LAMETVistaPrints makes offers on behalf of other companies. if you chose something from the list - it probably has something to do with those.
- LadyI just got this scam on my checking card, i have since frozen my account and am disputing the charges with my Bank. To bad its 12AM and nothing but my bank has people working. So Fraud Department tomorrow to handle this and then I'm going to give Verizon a few words and alert them that the card number they have for this person is stolen.
I don't understand if this is a problem why don't they do something, it makes their image and company look bad.
I will NOT be continuing my service with them after this mess and my current faulty phone.
Seriously, I'd like to see who ever it is drain my account now. Its my MONEY and you CAN't have it! - Just me replies to StephyDoes anyone you know have a Verizon Wireless prepaid phone - If they are getting transaction approved on more than one of your credit/debit cards, my bet would be that it is someone you know and has access to the cards. I work for a bank & see this all day long. You would be surprised to find out how often it turns out to be a spouse, child, relative, friend or neighbor who has used your information.
- Carolyn| 4 repliesJust got our Amex statement, and there were 17 charges to this weird VXWRLSS*ECARS OT totalling $563. I called the number [888-294-6804] and discovered it was Verizon Wireless. We haven't had a cell phone with them for years; we're now ATT. But the person at Verizon I talked to was clueless about what ECARS could be. So I called AMEX and they were wonderful, as usual. They shut down my card immediately, opened a fraud account, and cancelled the charges. Next thing I did was to google those weired letters, and what a surprise! Hundreds of identical complaints going back more than a year. WHy isn't this getting into the media???
