- MariaA Chase Wilson ext 1418 called this morning and was very convincing. I almost sent the statement of PCI overcharge he was going to credit, but decided to google the number 888-315-9629. I told him my internet was down. He is calling me back in the afternoon. Very persistent. I had a feeling it was a scam.

- Ripley’s Appliance Repair, Inc.Received a call from this number from “Linda.” She said she was representing companies who have been overcharged with bogus credit card fees in a class action suit and needed is to send her a merchant services statement in order to refund us for over charges since June of 2018. I almost fell for it until I googled the # and saw the comments about it being a scam. I’ve been in business for over 30 years & this scam really had me fooled!

- B SharpAs a business owner, I received one of multiply calls today from a telemarketer. The lady starts off with, I’m calling to let you know about a refund of your PCI charges on your merchant account. I knew this was a scam call as soon as she started talking but I played along. She said can you pull out your Credit Card Processing statement. I told her she should have my statement if she knows I’ve been over charged. She said we don’t have access to your statement, we deal with over 400 companies. That’s a good line! So, I continued to play along. She asked if I saw a Fixed Acquirer Network Fee, I said Yes, it’s $2.00. Do you have a NABU fee? Why yes, I do it’s $0.16. What about a Non-Compliance fee, Non-Validation fee or Non-regulatory compliance fee? I said no I did not have these fees. She then told me I was owned $114.18 refund for the last 3 months. I asked her how that was possible since my fees are around $10 to $15 a month? I hardly use my account. Her words were “You are being charged these fees and you just don’t see them!” I then asked what was the name of her company. She stated it was Merchant Services. I said no really what is the name of your company and she then said it was Top Tier in the billing correction department for Merchant Services. Her phone is (888)315-9629 Ext. 1412. She proceeded to give me a Claim Code ES4558. I was to write this on the statement and fax this to her. Fax (877) 277-1875. But I could mark out the merchant service number on the statement. She wanted me to fax and she would then give me a reference code that someone would be calling me back to go over my statement and refund. I then called her out and told her, I sell merchant services and this is a scam! Of course, she hung up on me. That was my fun for the day! Merchants---Please don’t fax over your statements to just anybody. It’s a scam. My company would never call about charges and ask you for information or statement.

- Accounting DeptRecd a call from Jennifer wanting 3 months worth of statements so that we could receive a payment for overcharge. Gave me this number. We don't use this company. I googled and couldn't find any info for Top Tier Payment Solutions. Smells like a scam to me. Appears that way from the results I received on the internet once researched.

- LaurieJust received call from this number also. Google says it is for Top Tier Processing. Fast talker. Wanted me to fax my credit card monthly statements over so she could "adjust billing errors". At the end of her fast talking...finally told her that I will not be faxing anything!!! She hung up.

- JulieReceived a call from Chase Wilson with Merchant Services at Top Tier Payment Solutions. Tried to tell me we were due a refund on credit card processing fees and wanted me to fax or e-mail over a credit card statement so they could submit it to their Solutions Dept. in order to get the credit processed. Sounded very convincing and was persistant. We use another company, so I was skeptical. Put him on hold, while I called my credit card company to be told it was a scam. By the time I went to go back to him, he was gone. I was glad. Good riddance!

- Vanessa| 1 replyI work for a processor, an ISO, and sell First Data processing along with TSYS, Worldpay/Vantiv, and Heartland.
Thankfully I have incredibly loyal clients, and had a client call me today telling me someone from my office called him asking for his statement and PCI confirmation number. I asked for their name, as this was odd considering we have their merchant statements and wouldn’t need to ask him for them. The name he gave me was Teddy Drake. So my merchant Gave me the fax number the number that another lady, Tonya Young, told him to fax the statements to, which is the fax number for FirstData PCI. I live down the road from my merchant so went by the shop, and we got on the phone together to call this Teddy Baker back. When a I told her who I was and demanded to know how she got my clients information. She kept saying the statement department. I said there is no such thing as a statement department at First Data. I said did Tonya Young give you my clients information? She said yes. I said and Tonya works in the PCI department at FirstData. She said no statement department. I said who writes your paycheck? Does your paycheck come from FirstData? She said no why would it. I said then you have illegally accessed my clients statement and information without consent. I said does Tonya Young work for FirstData? She said yes, so I said thank you that’s all I needed to know and hung up. What this sounds like is this Tonya lady at PCI has some kind of kick back worked out with Top Tier processing and is getting merchants to send her the statements and sends them over to Top Tier to call on. This infuriates me to the core. As an agent that has worked incredibly hard to help the businesses in my community get away from shady processors and take care of them like they were family, and have someone try to take advantage of them, is appalling. It’s a disgrace to the good people in this industry, and crosses so many ethical boundaries. FirstData has been notified and the appropriate measures will be taken with the parties involved.- Caller: Top Tier / FirstData

- BigA replies to VanessaSpeaking from experience First Data is the biggest bunch of liars and crooks I have ever seen. They alter signed contracts and then charge you 16.6% ($83 dollars and change on a $500 sale). So it is no wonder they have crooks working for them. Good, glad to hear it, couldn't have happened to a better organization (note that the sarcasm is simply dripping off the page).
- AnitaPhone call from Tammy Davis ext 1403. Caller said we were overcharged for three months of merchant services. I asked, who she represented and she said frontline merchant services had overcharged fees for PCI compliance and I was due refund. I said, this does not answer my question, "where are you calling from". Short version, got her name and phone number, did a google search. Thanks to all who have reported. SCAM
