Sept 2007 - Earthlink Account Services for Earthlink ISP. Displays as unavailable but they do leave a message.

I answered and it was a gentleman confirming my earthlink.net account... he did not ask for any personal information other than my name.

They have called twice in the past 2 days saying that they are the billing department for Earthlink. After yesterday's call I checked my account online and found everything up to date and paid in full yet they insist it is not. When I asked to be transfered to the United States they told me they could not since they were closed here. They have twice asked me for information and I in turn asked them for my password to verify that they were who they stated to be. They were unable to provide me with my password. After 3 transfers between supervisors, I figured I have had enough fun for the day wasting their time and call fees.

They called at 8 am on a Sunday morning. When i answered the phone heard nothing.  Called the number back.  Heard a vague message that they "can't answer the phone at this time."  They never identified thenmselves.  I'm on a don't call list.

Claim to be Earthlink billing.  I DON'T even have an Earthlink account!!!!!

They did not call my phone directly, instead I got a voicemail on my cell supposedly from Earthlink Cable Service saying that they do not have an order scheduled to install internet cable, and if I am no longer interested to call them at 888-327-8454 so that no cable charges would appear.  I never called Earthlink, don't have any Earthlink services in the first place, and won't be calling that number.

I also saw this number in a post that said it was a collection agency.

I have caller id and won't answer any number I don't recognize. Especially 877/888. I am on the do not call registry AND have security screen. How these people are getting through I would love to know. But I am not going to answer so there efforts are wasted.

At 8:00 PM, overseas-sounding woman from "Earthlink Finance" said my bill wasn't paid 'cuz credit card on file was cancelled by my bank.  She had LOTS of info about my Earthlink account, but had only part of my previous credit card number.  She repeatedly insisted I give her my current account number.  I said I'll give it if I make the call!  She argued awhile. Odd thing is, Earthlink has billed my current credit card with no problem for several months.  

I don't have caller ID so I dialed *69 for "last call number" and it was 1-888-327-8454.

Re. my previous post, the call was from Earthlink; my account was overdue 'cuz my credit card issuer failed to block my previous credit card as they planned last year.  When they finally blocked it, Earthlink did need the new card number... but they sure went about it in a phishy-sounding way.

the number keeps getting generated i guess by a computer and no one answers and they keep calling.  I guess they have lots of time on their hands.

I just had a call from this number.  It was an automated survey about my most recent call to the Earthlink service desk at 18003278454(1800Earthlink).  I was asked 3 questions that were answered using the keypad.  Nothing phishy this time but I am always on the alert.

Have received calls daily, no message is being left, no answer when I pick up either. However, this is being sent to my cell phone and I'm being charged for it. If it is Earthlink, then I do have an account with them and no unpaid balance and the card on file is up to date.

They're a bunch of idiots. They called my cell phone for about a week straight multiple times daily.  They'd block their number (unavailable, restricted, 0)and then call right back 2 seconds later with the 888 number.  I don't answer blocked numbers or numbers I don't know, and they didn't leave a message.  I googled the number and found these sites.  I had never heard of them until I looked it up, so I most definitely do not have an account with them.  I finally got through to their customer service (or lack thereof) and upon me giving them absolutely none of my information, they concluded I had no information on file with them.  The only info they might've had was my phone number on their caller ID. I told the lady I wanted to be put on their do not call list and she told me she was unable to do that.  I told her if I received anymore calls from them that I would be filing a complaint with the FTC.  They called me again about 3 hours later and the guy was looking for a person I'd never heard of (I've had the same number for 3 years) and I told him that and to stop calling.  They kept calling over the course of the next few days and I kept telling them time and time again that I don't know the guy and not to call me anymore. They would apologize and say they wouldn't call again.  Half of the time nobody would be there when I'd answer, or else it would go to voicemail and the voicemail would be dead air.  I just stopped answering the phone because I was being charged for their stupidity. I made sure to put my cell phone number on the government's Do-Not-Call list. Upon doing so, I knew they had 31 days to stop calling me because I had not done any business with them and therefore had no agreement with them allowing them to call me.  Within just a few days, they stopped!!

I missed the call from this number and hit "redial". It IS indeed Earthlink. I had changed the credit card on file that pays for my account and they were calling to verify that I made a change.

this number has called multiple times at inappropriate times like 8A.M. this sunday morning. i have already called the number that is supposed to eliminate telemarketer calls and i want my name taken off this list immediately.

Initially, I filed phone complaint with Earthlink for overbilling charges.  Within a few days, I would get on my phone message recorder strange robotic voice stating, "You are being called for a survey" (calls occurred for at least 3 days).
I would just delete.

Today, I get a call with NO Message left on recorder.  I hit *69 for #ID and entered it on this 800Notes website which is awesome for research info.  After reading other postings, I was amazed to find that it was indeed, Earthlink.  I am also on a Do Not Call List with FCC; yet, it's strange to get telemarketer calls.
