Call went to voicemail, no message left.  But I was expecting a call from Earthlink support.

They must be "spoofing" the Earthlink number, if that's the correct terminology. Which is sad, because Earthlink is a reputable email provider that I've used for YEARS. It makes me angry that some scammers are giving them a bad name.

That number is a legit EarthLink number.  I have had that number In my file for over nine years.

A man called and left a message (foreign accent) that a modem was being sent to me. I have no modem ordered and do not need one. Right after the voicemail message I got text message from 866 420 2445 (when I looked p this phone number is for EarthLink) with a FedEx tracking number for this "modem delivery shipment". It is an actual FedEx tracking number for a label created for a shipment coming to Los Angeles. It is just a label so and not a shipped package as of yet. This is surely a scam where they want me to call back trying to figure out what this is, etc..... so that they would likely want me to fall from something where I owe them money.

This is a legitimate telephone number for EarthLink Support. They called and left a message to remind me of a scheduled tech visit.

If you already know who called you, why would you look up the number? Anyone getting a legitimate call from this number would have no need to come here

someone overseas must be related to someone at EarthLink technical support. It’s a scam they’re using a spoof or to try and get money out of people I’ve reported it but no one seems to be doing anything about it and I think it’s a big liability for EarthLink not to notify its customers that their information has been stolen.

I got a call from an Arab man saying I needed to pay an early termination fee several other fees totaling over $500 and that it would just be better to start a new account. my Internet is working fine and I don’t owe any money. unbelievable the links these people will go to. I canceled the card number that I had on file with the EarthLink and got a specific card with a very low limit and called into EarthLink myself to give them that number. I’m looking into how to report this to our government before they get too much money out of people that don’t understand like elderly people maybe. It just burns my blood… And they call us infidels. Right.

Received a call on a business line asking for a company that is no longer in business.  Stated that they could not tell me the reason for the call but that it was regarding an "update".  Looked up number and it led to several people with same problem.  Likely scam call.

Complained to Earthlink about massive increase in SPAM e-mails since they did "maintenance" on my account about two weeks ago.  I report the SPAM every day.  Got phone call from this number two days in a row, with guy with Indian accent asking my password to "look into" my account.  Of course I didn't give it to him!  He apologized repeatedly and said "I understand why you are displeased" but did NOTHING to fix the problem.  He would not promise that Earthlink considers reported SPAM unless I gave him my account password.  This is bunk!  No reputable company would behave this way!
