got a mailing about my expired warranty on a car i had purchased new about 90 days ago.  Wanted to have me spend money on something i didn't need as I have a 4 year 60,000 mile warranty thru BMW.  So i decide to call and have some fun with them.  I asked them if thier warranty covered parts like the headlamp stabilizer sensor ?  After a minute he said, yes it does.  (no such thing as that on my car).  Asked if it covered the fuel tank filter liner under the pump, once again he said, yes it does.  Again no such thing.  So it just goes to show that they are fake and just wanted my credit card number which they kept asking for during the conversation.  Never gave me a price, just kept insisting on the CC number.

    Irritated with scam mail
Keep getting Vehicle Alert Notice/Final Notice in mail, saying your car warranty has expired, immediate response to this notice required, call these numbers.  The fraud numbers in these Final Notice are: 1-888-395-8636 and 1-866-491-9998.
The return address for the 1-866-491-998 is EWS, 400 Skokie Blvd #105, Northbrook, IL 60062.
I believe the scammers get our vehicle information and mailing address from MVA.  I am very irritated.  I am concerned a lot of unsuspecting people especially the seniors will be scared by their mail and call.  What can we do?

I also think they get your info from the MVA as we bought our car in Canada when we lived there, moved across the border, registered our cars with the MVA and 2 weeks later I get a notice in the mail from them.

No call, but postcards.  Imported my Mexican purchased vehicle last month and registered it at the local DMV two weeks ago.  Got this solicitation + one from 1-888-678-0690 and one from "American Automotive Service Solutions, Inc". 1-800-293-5048.  Suspicious of all of them.

My husband received a post card with bold red letters (I guess to look urgent) telling him this is his final notice before the offer expires.  I'm pretty sure they get info from the MVA.  We usually have a laugh and toss the junk mail.  There was no return address on the post card though.

Mine is a postcard with the same info as otgers re one if our cars "THIS IS YOUR FINAL NOTICE". VEHICLE ALERT NOTICE **Please Respond Within 5 Business Days**  Please call     1-888-395-8636. No company OR RETURN ADDRESS.  The mail "stamp" says PRESORTED FIRST CLASS MAIL US POSTAGE PAID SALEM UT 84653 PERMIT #1401. So I am also bringing this to Post Office as Mail Fraus, using govt mail to commit fraud!

Indeed same post card came with the same message on it after i had purchased my vehicle, I called and fell for it. It was my first purchased vehicle, so I really didn't know any better. No contract binded me, but was hard to get them to finally cancel and I'm still not sure they have. These places are really just out to take your money. Be aware, never by an extended warranty through ANY third party.

It's a very convincing mailing, with the way they leave out their company's name but refer to the "manufacturer's warranty".  I definitely thought it was authentic at first glance, but later after a second glance I decided to Google the 1-888 number.  This is not the only website I found confirming that it is a scam to be avoided.  Again, it's very well made and I worry about seniors and others who will fall for it.

Same postal permit listed above. After 5 minutes finally got a company name of ELERAS.  They were very evasive to answer any questions about them or how I might have an existing business relationship.

Finally, I just spiked their dataset on us by saying my car has 90k miles, rear ended with broken trunk (implied no insurance), and odd smells from the heater.  I also added that I think it is cursed since after I drive it a while I start to hear things and get headaches unless the window is down, hoping to imply carbon monoxide poisoning.

I'll be very curious if this car "history" shows up again.

I got 2 slightly different versions of these postcards on March 28, 2016. One had the sales number 888-395-8636, and the other card had 888-448-7723.  It is possible they are violating the Drivers Privacy Protection Act, which I think allows you to sue for statutory damages.

How did people get the name Eleras Automotive Group as being associated with these latest junk mail postcards? The pre-printed bulk rate permit on the card that I received today (the card with the 888-395-8636 sales number) said Salem, UT, Permit #1401, and had no name anywhere on it. Not even a generic/fake dba name like "car care division". The other card that I received today (with the 888-448-7723 sales number, and gave a Direct Agent name of Car Care Division) said Permit #436 but had no city identified in the bulk permit box.

Just purchased a used vehicle on the 28th of February and received this postcard in the mail yesterday.  Why would you call this because like myself I purchased my vehicle at CarMax and they offered a service warranty and told me there was no warranty left on this vehicle for me as a new owner.  Don't fall for this.  Also it is said that DMV would allow our information to get out to a fraudulent company or persons like this.

I got the same exact postcard in the mail just two weeks after purchasing 2012 vehicle same 8636 phone number I live in Iowa and purchased my car 4 hours away from Wisconsin , but I hadn't even registered the car yet when I received this in the mail .. I instantly Googled the number and came across this forum I'm glad I did since I was considering calling them because I turned down the extended warranty they offered me at the dealership to save money at the time but then had second thoughts thinking I should of took them up on their offer ..thanks Google and thanks y'all for chiming in!

Same MO with yellow post card and red blocks screaming ***Immediate Response Requested*** concerning the car I just registered 30 days ago. I wish legitimate businesses were as fast acting as these fraud companies. Lol. Like others I am convinced the DMV has sold my info to these people as I bought my used car from an individual and no one else is aware of my purchase. Next week I am going to the DMV to ask for my half of the profits gained from selling my personal information. To be continued ....
