- Annoyed SeniorThis number has been on my "do not call" list for several weeks. It used to be "Capital One". Today it was "Neighbourhood security". I didn't let the caller go farther. Wish I had -- the more I think about it, the more it sounds like some sort of scam, perhaps aimed at seniors worried about their security.
- Death to telemarketingIn the past week these creeps have been repeatedly harassing me even though the answering machine clearly says that telemarketing calls are ignored at my number. According to other online reverse call sites this carpet bombing offender appears to be Capital One credit cards. There are hundreds of complaints against this scumbag outfit so don't waste your time with them. BE Warned! trying to put yourself on their "do not call" list could cause more harassment from them because it looks as though its being used as a tool to verify whether your number is active.
These guys remind me of those creepy Uncle Joe movie star stalkers who don't give up.- Caller: Capital (minus) one (or two)

- BananaI have been receiving one to two calls a day from this number for at least one month now. They never leave a message. They call on weekdays and also on the weekends, most annoying! I will not call them back, as no message left to say why they are calling my number.
- VladSince my last post, we've received 1-2 calls per day, each day; but never when we were at home. That was until this evening. Picked up the phone and a lady said she was calling from Sykes on behalf of Capital One. I told her that we weren't interested and to please take us off their call list. She was polite about it and said she would do this. We'll see what happens...

- Christina replies to KateHere is how I've dealt with any irritating sales calls. This has worked every time, and its kinda fun :)
I am a house wife, and I used to get several calls a day, even when you ask them not to call you again, it continues over and over again some days I had 20 calls. Most of this type of call is done from a call center in countries that don't have things like minimum wage. They don't care that they are bugging you, and most of the time the calls come in at inconvenient times due to the time zone difference. The most important thing to remember is that the money they get is dependant on their ability to bully people into purchasing their product, not in how many hours it takes to do so.
Let them know that you are not interested, and you don't want them to call again. When they tell you that they can and will continue to call you for the next 30 days while your name gets "removed", you take a deep breath and:
Explain that their repetitive calls interrupt your day and takes up your time, it is only fair that you now take up theirs
Explain - In the event of another call, you will take up AS MUCH of their sales person's time as possible on every call, you will ask questions, sound interested, possibly even put them on hold here and there. (anything that you can do to keep them on the line).
Make sure that they understand that and at the end of it all, you still WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING.
Realize that you may have to do this, but consider it a challenge; how long can you keep them on the line before they give up. (I have never had to get this far, but I'm pretty sure that if the first threat didn't work, once you actually followed through with it, your name would immediately be taken off the "list"
Time is money, take up my time, and I take up your ability to make money. - GusThis number has been calling my house once or twice a day for the past 3 weeks. When I call the number back I get a recording that says the company was calling on behalf of Capital One. There is an option to be put on their do not call list, but it asks you to give them your phone number and full name, which makes me suspicious. Has any one had any experience with putting their number on this company's do not call list. I can just keep ignoring the calls but I would like them to stop them completely if I could.
