Same company calling me saying they haven't heard anything from me! I have talked to them and told them that they had the wrong person and they still calling

called stating they had a claim against me for check fraud from a payday loan compay. First I have never used a payday loan company, second they were the rudest so called professional company I have ever spoke with. Also the person who wrote this so called check was not even me!!!  

Called me and stated that if I didn't make payment arrangements within 24 hours they would begin garnishing my wages. Total scam, found out that they cannot garnish any wages without PROOF or validation of this alleged debt. If they call again, I'm demanding validation of this debt and if they can't give me that validation that I will contact my State Attorney General regarding this matter.

I have filed complaints against them, but they still keep calling like the plague. They refuse to mail me anything, but say they will email the information to validate their claim, but I get nothing. Just today at 12:05 I spoke to someone and they said they would be emailing me info on the "so called" debt. never received it. then at 1:51 pm. same company saying, I see no notes in here about the. Does no good to file complaint They even call my direct office line threatening to skip trace my number and going directly to my hr mgr and have papers delivered to my office.. If they refuse to mail you a notice of validation it's a dead give-away. They're trying to collect on a debt that they know is invalid, time-barred or pure bogus.
A fax. or an e-mail is legal proof of NOTHING! If it has not been mailed to you and if you can't verify their claims, pay them NOTHING! The last nail in these dirt-bags story is as simple as their name. That being they're in western NY. The well recognized fraud capital of North America!
Tell them that you're aware of your rights under the FDCPA & that all your calls at home and at work will now be logged & recorded. The scum-bags may doubt it, so make it so! Digital recorders are dirt cheap & if you immediately tell the caller that the call may be recorded you will have skirted any state or federal regulations regarding recording the conversation.
If they persist after being warned, contact a consumer attorney. They can be easily found and most will work on a contingency basis. Meaning no money up-front. You won't be getting much money, but it's a lot of fun & is very satisfying.

This number has been calling my mother's number now for two weeks - how they got her number who knows?  Claiming debt and threats.  I have called the number they leave and left a message with MY phone number but they never call me back.  I don't owe any debts so I know this is a scam.  
I've left a message for them to stop calling my mother's number as well - I will report them.  Funny how the number they leave to return the call is never the number on the caller id.
SCAM all the way.  

Okay so what do you do if your lawyer has told you to not answer their calls but they still call and leave messages with no name as well as call my mom at her work leaving messages

Not a lawyer here but there was a time when I racked up a lot of medical bills and several went to collection agencies and I was garnished, though I think anyone has to have a court order to do that which I recieved a couple of them.  Had to appear in court with mediator first.  I'm getting calls from this number and I have excellent credit now, when I call them and give them the docket number they provided, it had something to do with Macy's, never had a card from them nor ever shopped there.  finally after months of calls got an attorney turned out it was correct number they were calling but wrong person.  Go figure

I have been getting calls and nasty messages from these people for months.  What makes it so bad is its not my debt. A friend put me as a contact and they call me almost DAILY. They have gone so far as threaten me with jail time!!!! This is ridiculous. After telling them to NEVER call me again the calls continue. I have blocked the # but I still get voicemails. Im sick of it! I am about to result in hiring a lawyer.

Just got two calls, two days in row, same time. Voicemail is a robots asking for an aunt who i havent talked to in years so she doesnt even have my number. Voicemail said they collecting a debt. i called number back and a Matthew Brooks answered said she used me as a reference . I said i had no idea who she is and he said he woukd "update his records"....

You can take steps yourself as well.. Send them a cease & Desist via certified US mail.

Last week, it was going to be filed in court. This week, they still call. Refused to send anything by mail, only email. I replied disputing the charges and also as a cease and desist. They still call.I have contacted attorney and continue to report them. They threaten me at work, threaten to skip trace my # and go to my HR.

So, concerned citizen, you call us lowlifes that do not want to pay our bills, yet you are the only one who has given them money. This is a scam, and you being on here trying to make it legitimate is wrong. I don't think we are the  lowlifes. Lowlifes steal money from people like these scam artists and lowlifes try to talk others into it with implied threats like the one you made. In other words lies.

Thanks, they told me if I didn't pay them $250 today they would go to the Sheriff's office and serve me at the base. I told them they would have to do that then. Guess I'll wait and see. Sorry for the all caps button stuck.

These morons are all over the internet. They have many lawsuits against them. They call from random numbers, but number is the more frequent 888-710-4273. They keep changing their business name to hide from attorney's. They're known as Audubon Financial and they also go by AFB & Associates, Marvel and Associates, and ARM. They started calling me 5 months ago and I started browsing the internet to see who they are. They’re one of the largest scam artists in the U.S.  

They have been reported to the Federal Trade Commission, but they keep changing their business name. Thousands have been scammed and harassed with threats like; bank and wire fraud, there’s a warrant for your arrest, an officer is going to come to work an arrest you, paperwork is filed and you’re being sued and your wages will be garnished. However, you can avoid this all if you pay this amount. Unfortunately, they’re people who believed these scare tactics and gave out their bank account information, and this company has stolen $1,900 - $5,000. Then they’ll call again under another business name saying you owe the same debt and try to get more money from you.

People have hired attorneys and they’re several hundred open cases.

There have been reports they use Bank of America, Visa, Payday Loans, Allstate, State Farm, Mortgage Lenders to lure you in, so you believe it’s legitimate.

Per the FDCPA, if you ask for a certified validation letter providing documentation of the debt, they’ll refuse.

What I have noticed is this company knows everyone’s last 4 of their social and phone number, but that’s it. I started receiving these calls when I went online and got a quote for Auto Insurance.

I've reported them a 1000 times. Nobody does anything. Got a call from this number telling me to call back on t855-935-3681.  They "supposedly" are looking for my husband.  However, if anyone looks up both of these numbers, you will see multiple complaints about them being a scam. The company makes threats about garnishing wages, pressing charges for fraud, warrants for arrest, etc., all of which are illegal for any collections company to do.  The call themselves different names:  Investigations, Accounts Receivable, ARM, and American Restitution.  They are one of the biggest scam company in the US.  Report them to the FTC Consumer Affairs, BBB, and FBI Internet Crimes division.

These people call my house every fay at 10 am...for a Levi Marcum...i do not know a Levi Marcum and i tell them and they hang up on me yet they call again every single day.  What can I do to stop these phone calls?? Ive had this number for over 4 years! What kind of company are they? I try to.call.them back and they answer and then hang up! So aggrivating and harrassing!
