Suz, not always do they use autodialers that dial numbers in sequence.  They can buy different "lists", for example, not very useful calling a 20 year old when you are trying to scam Medicare numbers.  They have "lists" that just have older people on them.  My dead, Thank God, brother-in-law was in the business and made a lot of $ selling specialized lists.  They cost more so a lot of places just use sequence dailers while others with some $ use speciality lists.  Depends on the scam.  If you are scamming "you've won a free cruise" that can go out to anybody but scamming for a brace that Medicare pays for is not going to pay off as well calling everybody.  They can all GTH!

lol, hardly an honest man showing up after the company he works for or owns, is breaking the law calling anybody on the DNC list.  I wouldn't let them on my property.  If you are crooked in one are you are probably crooked in general.

Just got home and check my phone and saw I had missed 3 calls.  All with spoofed numbers including this one.  The 800 Services change their phone number but still illegal criminals on the line.  Also received my 33rd call from another criminal who started calling on November 7 and is still calling even though my number is blocked to them and the phone rings once then hangs up on them.  Desperate criminals!!!  May they all GTH!

As of March 8, 2012,Attorney General Chris Koster today filed lawsuit against BMV Debt Management Corp. d/b/a BMV Corp. and Ran D. Barnea, individual a/k/a David R. Barnea alleging that the company used a spoofed telephone number to make 20,000 calls during a three-month period.
The spoofed number, rather than the actual number called from, is what shows up on consumer's caller ID system and this misrepresentation conceals from the consumer the identity and origin of the telemarketer.

The complaint is not a finding or ruling that the defendant has actually violated the law. The case will be decided by the court.

Missouri consumers need to contact the Attorney General's office for further assistance at 866-289-9633 or visit their website at www.ago.mo.gov.

Licorette, if that info is accurate, you need to fill out a complaint form at the FCC, FTC and the DNC list, in addition to the Attorney General in Florida.  The FCC told me the more info you have the better their chances of stopping it.  Looks to me like you have a lot of info on this group, if accurate.

I have also noticed more and more of my calls are being spoofed to my A/C or 800 numbers lately.  I guess they think I will answer more if in my A/C, WRONG we don't answer this phone it is for out going calls and our fax only.  Calling me does not even ring.

How about this one...

I got a call from this number and wasn't going to answer it but I decided to do it different this time...I picked up but didn't say anything. After a few seconds the call was disconnected. I'm not sure if "they" were waiting for someone to answer but I guess after not getting "anyone" (my radio was on in the background) they gave up. This was a definite "phishing" expedition...

I agree.  If the IRS can hound regular everyday people ... why can't they use their tactics to find and hound the h*ll out of these scammers!!!  Love your post by the way.  :)

Lol .... cell phone was in purse.  Did not hear "my purse ring."  Called over four (4) hours ago.  I am 99% sure that 888-727-1127 is just another spoofed number used by criminal scammers.

Wish he would come to my door and get abusive .............  He would be in for a very unpleasant surprise.  :)

Caller called a business, call answered with business name, caller hung up.  Looks like a waste of peoples' time.

They call, I don't know the number, goes to voice mail. If they don't leave a message, it's on them. Who cares if they call? Don't answer the phone if you don't know the number

I answered a call from this #, and no one was on other line...SO annoying!!!!

They called my number twice and never left a message.  When I came home and found the call, I called it back, it rings, but no one answers.  CALL BLOCKER   a device invented and made in the UK costs around $100 Amazon sells them, the BEST INVESTMENT I HAVE MADE IN A LONG TIME.  Once you start using it the calls seem to dwindle away.  In the 8 months I have had it on my phone, I have only had to block 46 numbers and once blocked when they call back there is no ring on the phone like with ATT call blocking service.  I think it is possible that many scam calls are coming from the same caller and when you block one of their numbers they take you off their call list, because I used to get hundreds of calls in one or two weeks and then silent for a while before they came back at me again.

This number should be shut down based on the number of complaints here alone. Just called but left no message.

Just silence on the line. I waited to see if they would say anything. Nothing.

The caller called 5 minutes ago and I did not get to the phone in time so the phone stopped ringing. Called the number back and all it did was ring and ring and ring. Toll free numbers should not be ringing like that when you call them back. I say that this person was a scam. DO NOT trust anything they say if someone does respond to you answering the phone!!!
