Got same call.. person was Lindsay Schaffer.. called from 808-797-2452. Said I need to be available tomorrow between noon and 5pm.  sealed documents that I need to sign for.  If I want to resolve this with the company I need to call 888-732-5818.

I received at call from a private currier, stating that I need to make myself available between 12 & 5 the next day. The number that they called from was different, than what they wanted me to reply to. 800-706-3210 is the number they called from??

Criminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.

Got a call from the number. Lady named Audrey left a message and claimed she was a private courier. Told me to make myself available from 12-5 tomorrow. And if I wanted to end the service to call another 888 number. I have no idea who she is or what she is talking about but if some one shows up on my porch I would gladly welcome them with my baseball bat. I don't play these stupid games with debt collectors who get their information from unreliable sources and victimize people for other people's problems. Just report calls to the police

I just received a call from this number with a woman saying, "We need you to sign legal documents. Please give us a call back at (888) 732-5818."   I feel really horrible for people getting these calls, especially the elderly who are the most vulnerable in getting scammed.

Received a message from some lady. She did not give her name or say who the legal papers or for. She called the office and did not leave a name to give the message to. This is a huge office and we cannot be bothered trying to tract down who the call is for. Only said to call back 1-888-732-5818. It must be a scam. In my office, we leave a message for whom the call is for. We don't keep calling everyday several times a day without at least a simple message.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

This person called my stepdad ( unsure how they even got his number) on a Sunday night looking for me. I do not know what they wanted and when I called I got a voicemail only stating his name. I do not have any outstanding debt. I suggest as I am going to report these scammers and hopefully they will eventually get shut down

The call stated for me to contact them on a legal matter immediately that day of the call.  Or action would be taken.

Received a call from this number 888-732-5818 and the message this was regarding a legal matter and to call them back at this number immediately.  This is some scam I believe.

got the same call from a Paul Mason with call back # 1888-732-5818.  Caller ID shows 866-680-8956.  Got the call on Oct 24, 2016.

Same as all the others. About someone delivering a letter between 12-2pm tomorrow. To stop this action to cal 1-888-732-5818 caller is if shows from Delaware and I'm in Alaska. Time to shut off answering machine again. Sad when you can't have a phone for your own use anymore.

I got the same message yesterday

Glad all of you wrote these comments.  I was getting nervous, but my gut told me it was a scam because as mentioned in an earlier post my name was never mentioned.  Plus I know I don't have any unpaid debts.  unbelievable that they can get away with things like this.  Elderly people get targeted a lot by bottom feeders like these.  Paul Mason can go to hell!!

"Lindsey" called and stated they were a courier and I needed to make myself available between 12 and 5 pm and gave an 800 number for me to call to "stop action."  She didn't state a name for whom the call was intended nor an address to be available... I have no debts and am on the do not call list.  Glad I read that this is yet another lovely scam.  Hope they get shut down before people get scammed!

Yup, thank God for the internet.  I typed in those exact words and this is what i found.  Thank you, Anon, whoever you are, for confirming my suspicions about this call.  If they call back I'll ask them what my name is :-)

It sounds like the company is either ARG or NRG. The woman does not leave a name but says she needs to speak with me or my attorney. 888-732-5818
