My husband used to run a small contracting business called CCF and Associates, we ceased operating in 2006 when he was disabled.  In the last 12 months I have been contacted by the BBB of NYS and the Dept of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection St of WI w/complaints filed against this debt collection company.  I have responded that this is not his company, but I feel we are being unfairly harrased, indirectly by actions of this company. CCF and Assoc. located in Syracuse NY has no affiliation with any debt collection agency, real or otherwise.
Bottom line people, please do your homework before filing a complaint and do not let anyone direct correspondence to the wrong company. it only reduces your effectiveness in getting the matter handled.

sure, anyone can start legal action but nibble on this before you get really scared:
* They have purchased a large amount of junk debt for pennies on the dollar and are tyring to get their money back anyway they can.
* They have no morals and use scare tactics or threats to anyone in your family
* They could care less about you or the law
* They don't have the money to sue you personally, so they will call and threaten you
i wouldn;t worry about ever paying them

You have to feel bad for these junk debt buyers. They were suckered in to buying a 14 year old debt, probably took a seminar on how great it is to buy junk debts and how they could become rich.

Then...

Reality hit, they bought all this OLD debt and are tyring hard to collect it. Now they have to play rouogh and threaten because no-one wants to pay them. They are mean and rude because they were suckered.

Just remember the next time you speak with these idiots, they were stupid to buy very old debt, probably didn't graduate from middle school and don't know anything about an honest days work.

By the way, when they call, don't answer, if you answer and talk to them, they will call more often. Even if they have the worng number, they will think you are lying (again remember who you are dealing with). And if you answer by accident, say something that will make them end the call like ->

"Hold on while I turn my recorder on to record this call"
"May i get your address so my lawyer can contact you as we are filing bankruptcy"
"He/She has accepted a job with the FBI, let me get your information so I can pass it along when they are finished with training"
"This call will be recorded so I can send it to the attorney general for acts of terrorism"

Use anything you want, remember the ball is in your court.

I got the same message from these people??? My advice is not to call back and ignore them, they will get tired and try to contact different people.

Got calls from 555-000-0000 and 206-418-6816 directing me to call this number, extension 1.  Claimed that "actions would be taken on my behalf" if I didn't call.  Interestingly, robocall claimed to be for someone matching my last name, but first name was garbled - I am thinking this is done intentionally to trick you into calling back.  

Note - From looking around on other, similar call reporting forums, it seems that they send their employees out to astroturf positive postings about calling back.  Guessing there are several posting like that on this thread!

You will not get a "Note in the mail" to appear in court.  If you are being summoned to appear in court, it would come from a process server, not the mailman.

The are lopoking for Joy Childress/Tabor and when I try to call back I am unable to talk with anyone or leave a message....they are trying to get person info about a person thru me.....

they tred the same thing with me with the on person that I did talk to last month looking for my sister and I don't talk to her, dont live in the same town and yet some how they got my number,,,,pissed me off! Do not respond anymore...I am trying to figure out how to report this scam!

i just got a call this morning from ccf incorp. they gave me a case number and an ext to call back. I had no idea of what was going on. I called back and the person with the ext 748 got on the line stating that he was john kelly or somethin like that. he wanted to confirm my social and information sayin it was about an allogation from 08 about a payday loan. I was like I need to research this information first before i confirm anything. He said well good luck to you and ended the call. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!??!

they are calling my place of employment .isnt that illegal if they are real attorneys they will find you at your address. STOP CALLING ME!!!

Excuse me must be nice to have money.. .YES YES YES  everyone has bills and at one time or another Life can take a Bad downfall and you lose everything and cannot pay your bills...and Know that you Probably never will be able to... and you stress and worry and feel so bad..cause you just cannot..But you do not need an [***] on the other line threatening to take your car or your food and threaten to track you down like a dog for 1500.00 dollars and tell you no matter where you go you will be watched and then threaten to take your disability checks for a measley 600.00 ..They even followed me for a whole week to the grocery stores..while im going for a walk..So dude Keep your Assinine comments to your self..

my dept is 25 yrs old and they threaten court even served me i called on it months later and they said I wasnt served..and then explained how easy it is to get one ..go to your city hall and ask for a form to take a person to court for a non paying dept. lmao.. they threaten me everytime and of course all my calls are set up for recording..so my laywers are faxed frequently.. Im Lovin it.!!!

Stating that if I didn't return the call by 5 pm "something would happen".  The message had no name just "extension 1"  After reading this post I will not call them back or accept phone calls from them

WOW!!  Maygen claims to know everyone that works for the company but her spelling and grammar are horrible!!  It does make one wonder why they would have people patrolling the message boards if they are a legal formed and honest company.  As I understand it, this is a large group of collectors from various states.  I am not sure how they obtain their information but that are certainly annoying if anything.  Be careful when dealing with them and know your rights!!!  Your local attorney general is one of your best defenses against this company.
