- Bang| 20 repliesThey haven’t called me but this is the number on my credit card statement for a Amazon Prime Video for $9.99 and I don’t recognize the charge. So I looked up the number encase it was fake. Looks like it might be.

- fnord| 10 repliesFrom a Reddit post:Quote:This new scam is where the merchant pretends to be Amazon.com or Prime Video and charges your credit card or debit card multiple times. On your bill, it appears as something like:
"Prime Video*8Q5UK5X93 888-802-3080 WA 10/02 (...6025)
Prime Video*IM4KW97T3 888-802-3080 WA 10/16 (...6025)

Prime Video*FW2PK26D3 888-802-3080 WA 11/02 (...6025)"
You would assume these charges were from Amazon or Prime Video but they're from the scammer PRETENDING TO BE AMAZON. If you call that number to dispute the charge, the fake Amazon.com employee will answer the phone and ask you for all the details - your name, billing address, debit card or credit card number, and then hang up immediately. They even record your voice!...
I verified this number 888-802-3080 DOES NOT EXIST WITH AMAZON.COM ...- Call type: Scam suspicion

- Smarter Then ThemI have a credit card that send all transactions to my phone. I got a 149.00 change for Amazon Music. Called the number on the charge and they had a fake system that would send you a text message to confirm your Amazon account, which is the number you called them from since everyone uses Cell phones now. I replied to the text with YES to verify then their system did it again. only after I pressed 2 on my phone to skip verification did a very think accented woman answer - I hung up immediately. Called card company, reversed charge, canceled that cad and new one is on the way. Should be here tomorrow.

- Scam for sure| 1 replyI received a similar charge for Amazon Music*MV5VH2### 888-802-3080 WA for $8.66. I don't use Amazon Music (I have Prime Music and Pandora) so I knew it was false. I called the number, and got a 'I see you are calling from a Amazon from a confirmed number. Please confirm...' type message. Then a text to my same number saying 'Are you are calling Amazon? Reply 'Yes' to this message to verify your account.' BEWARE!!!! replying 'Yes' to the text can be provided as 'confirmation' to you card company that you are confirming whatever the scammers are trying to push!! Don't be fooled. Call Amazon billing directly if you want to speak to a person (Use the Amazon site...not the email!)

- Rolo TomasiKept getting charged $3.18 a month. Called CC company & they said it was a legitimate Amazon Prime phone # at (888) 802-3080. Merchant name on CC statement was
PRIME VIDEO*MJ44Q6F50

CC company hooked me up with Amazon Prime rep over phone. Seems like monthly charge somehow jumped from one CC to another without me doing it. Everything got straightened out. I did not call the (888) 802-3080 directly myself. - Peg H replies to Raeleshia L. HarrisThey charged my husband’s BankDebit card $20.00 for

- Josh| 1 replyConfirmed with Amazon that 888-802-3080 is not an official Amazon phone number.
- Tygerkat replies to JoshAnd even if it was an official Amazon phone number, that doesn't mean a scammer couldn't be spoofing it.

- Ipadmom replies to fnord| 2 repliesWhat number are you supposed to call to reach Amazon? I called and they were asking information. I told them that I thought they should know info already and finally hung up.
- CelticDragon replies to Ipadmom| 1 replyMaybe GOOGLE IT? It's much faster than sitting here waiting!
- Blessedone333 replies to BangI woke up today with four separate charges of $3.99 and I don't own a Amazon account! This is pure fraud. The bank reverse the charges right away and told me that my card was no longer valid and they'll be sending me a new one. You need to change all your passwords and don't put any passwords on any software because it looks like they're going after people! Good luck to you buddy
- Blessedone333This number didn't call me but it was listed as the contact information for fraudulent charges that are on my bank account using my debit card. I called the bank and they said that this is fraud! And they canceled my card right away. I talked to an IT guy and he said change all your passwords and get rid of any kind of software that you have that keeps a hold of your passwords because they might have got into a digital wallet. I don't use gas stations and I don't use my card at weird ATMs where they might be stripping my data. It has to be an online use.
