- Lee| 1 replyI was charged a re occurring $2.99 charge on my bank card. The number. 888 802-3080. It says Amazon Free time 5R9PJ2452. I tried to call the number. It was a pre recorded American male voice. The recording asked if it could call me back by my number I was calling from for verification. I knew right then it wasn’t Amazon because I have called Amazon several years ago. Immediate called the bank and canceled my card. Reverse looked up the number. It’s fraud.

- Irritated-FTCdotgovA merchant that I did business with some time ago alerted me that a script had been inserted into their "online store" and that my credit card information had been compromised. I found multiple Amazon charges giving the customer service number as 888-802-3080, all of which are apparently fraudulent. Most of them are small and mimic Amazon Digital or Amazon Prime purchases.

- No scamBy any chance we’re all of the credit cards that have been charged Credit One? I never used the card and the Amazon scam showed up on mine as well. I knew it was a scam as I have only my Prime card associated with Amazon purchases. They did not call, but that is the number associated with the charge.

- Ko| 2 repliesI got charged at Amazon Digital (Amazon Music) for $4.18 by 888-802-3080, WA on my new credit card for Amazon purchases. Never subscribed to Amazon Music. It started in March, unknown to me, and auto-reversed in April and May by Amazon. This new charge appeared in a text message which is how I became aware of it. Called Amazon, they cancelled the Music subscription and credited me the $4.18. How was the subscription made in the first place by this phony number? This number appears to originate in India. Amazon seemed to be aware of the problem.

And since this has happened more than once, you should cancel the card so it can't keep happening. - BigA replies to KoThis number is an actual Amazon phone number per their website. I searched the number using both Yahoo and Google and there is not one single mention of this number originating in India.
