I've been getting calls from this 888-832-0243, and have been for almost a month or so. I've tried putting my cell phone on Restrict calls, and they call my voice mail. About an impoortant legal matter.I will not answer them, and I will not give them any information. I kind of figured it was a scam or something werd. Thsi is a cell phone, and it's kind of new, so I wonder even how they got my number.

Yeah, they keep calling my cellphone. It's pissing me off, and I'm really considering calling my lawyer. No, I'm not joking.

I manage a residential service company in Texas and have received dozens of calls from this number on one of my company's service phones used by my technicians for work purposes. Apparently, a former employee from before my time used this company phone for personal use and this collection agency tracked the number and began looking for him. I called the number to the agency on 10-26 and explained to a very polite woman about the situation and that I didn't know the whereabouts of this former employee since I had never actually met him. She said she would go ahead and delete my company's phone number from their files immediately. We'll see.

I've been getting calls from this number a few times a day for a few weeks now, between 8am-11pm.  They never leave a message, so I finally called it back and asked them why they were calling and they said they were looking for some woman named Laquisha something.
I can't get too mad at this collection agency for calling though, they are not the first to call looking for this woman since I got this cell phone number in August.  The operator said they would list my number as incorrect and that it would take about 48 hours to correct so we'll see if it works.
If not, I'll probably just call my cell phone carrier and ask for a new number because apparently more than one person is looking for this woman, so even if this number stops, I'm sure others will start.

Google "Bennett and Deloney" and the picture that emerges is radically different from the one "Rick" (above) has been painting - and it's not for the easily nauseated.

There's this: www.ripoffreport.com (search for "deloney" and you'll find over half a dozen interesting and unflattering pieces).  Then, there's this: www.debtconsolidationcare.com.  (Search for "deloney" and more sleaze pops up).  But if you really want an eyeful, check this out from Bud Hibbs' website:

"Bud Says [of Bennett & Deloney]...

"Hold your nose, get ready to wash your hands, the smell from this assortment of wasted law licenses makes a garbage barge smell like perfume. These are TOXIC WASTE debt collectors, some of the worst in America.

"The following individuals are still licensed to practice law in Utah and work under the name of Bennett & DeLoney aka Stinkum & Smelly:

    "Richard H. DeLoney
    "Michael B. Bennett
    "Douglas R. Short
    "Derek J. Barcla
    "Michael J. Young

"These disgusting low life's, give a new meaning to con-men and scum bags. They are the lowest...of the low!! Vultures, con-men, thieves, dirty, disgusting, wasted law licenses, I can't conjure up a phrase that adequately describes the sheer ugliness and disgust of this group of lawless holders of bar cards and law licenses.

    "TO SEND THE CEASE-COMM LETTER:
    FAX: (801)963-9955
    Email: mbennett@benlaw.com

"DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS LAW FIRM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! THEY ARE LIARS, CON-MEN, THIEVES!

"They were recently fined more than $50,000 by the state of West Virginia for ripping people off on bounced check fees. These losers of law must be snorting something that fogs their abilities to count from 1-10, because the way they figure a debt is to add on fees that boggle any rationale thinking individual.

"Bennett & DeLoney come across in their letters as nuts and wacko's! They are so far out there that they can't even justify their dealings.

"Use the FREE cease-comm letter, get rid of these crazies, they are too far gone!

"Also, below are updated e-mail addresses & website for Bennett & Deloney:
    www.bennett-deloney.com
    rdeloney@bennett-deloney.com
    mbennett@bennett-deloney.com
    myoung@bennett-deloney.com"

Sounds pretty gruesome.  Apparently, you deal with this dreck at your own risk.

    Mr. Green
I received threatening and abusive calls to my office from 1-888-832-0243 asking for somone that I don't know. when I tried to explain, the caller indicated that they would "split" the bounty with me, and that I should just tell them what they want to know. Very weird, I am very thankfull to have found this site so that I can feel better about knowing who is calling my office.

    Mr. Deloney,

I have spoken with your supposed "law firm" several times and have been hung up on when trying to make payment arrangemts.  You may be very nice (I will give you the benefit of the doubt), but several people I have talked to in your office are very rude.

They have been calling several times a day for the past few weeks.  We run a business here, and the number they are calling is a very new home number for us.  There are probably three households, and NO businesses who currently know our home phone number.

If Mr. DeLoney wants to contact me about removing my phone number from their calling campaign, he can email me at blake@blakesdesigns.com for the phone number.  Given what I have read on this thread, I have no plans to call and deal with the people answering the phones.

Surprise, surprise!  They called again today and hung up on the machine.  I refuse to pick up the phone, especially since the one guy who supposedly is a partner there acts helpful here, but won't respond to my email.  I've started calling them the law office of Felonious Baloney!

Gosh these people are so freakin rude and ignorant.  As all have said they call at all possible hours that they can.  Nothing like waking up my child at 8:30.  I have told them 4 times wrong number.  They still call.  I have since reported them to the attorney generals office.  maybe they can get to the bottom of this.  They informed me they have had lots of problems with people ofthis nature and reccomended that this be the action you take if you can.  Besides what can it hurt!!!!

Oh, my.  It IS a collection agency.  In disguise. LOL  We have very little debt; are not and have never been behind on anything, so there is no reason to call, not leave a message, and hang up.

Called a telephone forwarding service number we use twice in the past three days.  Since the forwarding service has no directory listing (they do not know who owns the phone number they forward to) it is obvious this caller is not screening based on any criteria but just calling all numbers in a block hoping for a hit.

    Rich,

Your firm has an account with my business.  We stopped a check paid for goods that were not useable.  We agreed to pay for the useable goods, but were refused, the vendor in question would not accept anything less than the amount we were charged.  We still have the goods that we could not use, and have a right not to have to pay for them.  Again, we would pay the difference if given the option.  We constantly get your calls, and there is no resolution currently.  I asked the gentleman I called to please take us to court or stop calling.  He stated that you could not take us to court.  Are you misrepresenting your collection agency as a "law firm"? This is illegal Mr. Deloney, if I do not get an answer of why you have neither taken us to court or stopped calling (which costs our business money), I will be notifying the attorney general of Utah and Massachusetts (where my company is located).  We are completely prepared to argue in court, and at this point, the continued phone calls will be considered harassment.  I will be sending you written notice via certified mail that you are requested not to call us again, and any further calls will be illegal because of our request.

Yeah, been getting calls from them about a debt I settled LAST YEAR!!!!  Called the company I settled with, and they don't even know who the B&D freaking is!!  If they call again, I am suing.  This is ridiculous.  I've had to change my cell number twice, yet they find it out AND say my name!  Not just this is a business call or whatever.  Starting to royally anger me.

They call me at least 2 times a day now and just hang up.  I have requested they not call.  They are extremely rude.  The law states they cannot call if requested not to.  They only need another way to contact you. They have my address.  They have mailed items to me.  They need to quit harrassing me, which is what the hang ups are.  Harrassment, even to collect a debt, is illegal.  They are not a true law firm, that is just what they say to intimidate you.  They bought of paper from companies and are trying to collect the balance.  I had a health spa membership that in the contract stated I could cancel at anytime.  I cancelled because I lost my job, they now want me to pay for the rest of the year plus collection fees.  Not going to happen.

I receive these calls at work almost everyday, today I spoke to Kyle and he was somewhat rude, I told him I need a letter regarding the matter he is charging me for and he said they don't send letters.  Well I don't give out credit card info over the phone nor do I give out my account info, how am I supposed to know if you are legit or not.  Send me a letter, I even asked for a fax and he said no. Not to accommodating to collect money.
