I have been recieving phone calls from this supposed "law firm" for about 3 months. My delinquent 16 year old shop lifted from target. I have tried every thing to help this boy, but finally had to send him to live with his grandparents. While living with his grand parents, he shop lifted from target. The merchandise was recovered. Now Target is sueing myself and his father under civil law for money. I told them to sue me and I would see them in court, to stop calling, but it still continues. My son will be 18 next feb. I suggested they wait a year and go after him. It would be about time that he pay for his own mess! However, all he our I would have to do is bring in the documentation of his mental ilnessess, ADHD, ODD,and bipolar.I am investigating if there is a point when a child has not resided in your home for 2 years, if you are still leegally responsible for there actions.  I asked to speak to one of the attorneys, but the people I spoke to would not let me. Going to send a cease communication letter. By law, if they feel you have an unpaid debt, they can legally harrass you. The only way to stop the phone calls and have a legal leg to stand on is to send a cease communication letter certified with a return reciept (Have to have a signature from one of those stalkers to have it stand up in court).

These people have been calling my cell phone non stop as well. I have told them multiple times that I am not the person they are looking for. They call at all hours of the day...starting as early as 7:30 am!!!!! and calling as late as 9pm!!! They even call on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They are rude and can't seem to leave people alone!!!!!

Tricky, tricky bill collectors! Somewhat of a law firm, not that you ever get to speak to a real lawyer at any point.  The website says they are trained, but now i know they're trained to trick! Not cool, beware these legal sharks who want to "help you resolve your matters"...

My Ex stole my checkbook, SSN, etc. & wrote checks @ payday loan stores all over the West coast. These checks should not have been honored, most places realized the mistake and wrote it off or have gone after him. They needed my co-operation, of course i gave it. One place convinced me that if i closed that account i would go to federal prison for years, they could work w/me through the legal dept if i wrote a check from my current account, saying they had MY best interest @ heart. Wrote the check, "bought the debt" and the legal dept is Bennet, DeLoney, & Noyse who call and threaten, but don't listen or help you w/your situation. I finally got a decent lady, did payment arrangements, she said there was not much they could do since i "bought the debt" but that she would ask an attorney how i should handle this in the future. Called back the next week to make a payment, rude guy yelled @ me & said she was fired for being too nice. Great.

I noticed a few people talking about calling their attorny generals, is that the source of correct info on how to deal w/this?

    stop calling me!
Keep getting calls from 888-832-0243. Sometimes a message is left regarding "a legal matter" and sometimes they just hang up.  I called 800-815-1177 and a woman named Ann DeLoney answered my call.  She said they would take my number out of their system.  We'll see. They are looking for my son. I guess he wrote a bad check. I will sure tell him about what I have read here, though, so he will be prepared when he makes a pmt arrangement on this debt. Thanks for all of the information I've read here.  Pretty scary stuff!!

Yes, you will call several people of the same name, in hopes that you run across the one you're looking for. Been there, done that !! And yes, they probably are a law firm. They have a collection department within who uses the law firm's letterhead. It's actually a legal scare tactic. I would even bet that those types of " law firms " depend on the collectors to keep the business a float. Funny !!

Idiots, plain and simple. They call me 1 time a day, I call them back 20 times and ask for different people. They get annoyed pretty easy and I get a mid morning laugh at work.

My man just got a cell phone, and about 4 minutes after he got it activated, we started getting calls from these guys...  the first time we answered it was an automated call, the next time was a person asking for someone completely different. We told them that they had the wrong number and they told us that we were liars and we needed to give them their money NOW!  So needless to say we hung up, and have just been ignoring the calls.  But it's not fair that every day at least 4 times a day we are getting these calls.

Actually, my wife and I have made it a policy that if there is not any identifying info (i.e. Caller i.d. name), we do not answer the phone. Basically this is the same as putting our phone number on the do not call list. Since that has expired as of late, we just adopted the "No answer" policy. It's legal enough for us, since there are so many scams going around right now, we're just protecting our own interests. I don't care who these people are ( even if they are a law firm or a collection agency) If they're not up front with who they are and who they represent, then they're not worth responding too. Have a nice day.

I have received numerous calls to my cell phone from this number (888) 832-0243.  All of the calls until today there was no response when I opened the call.   However, today there was a real live person on the phone who said something (in English I believe) unintelligible.  When I said that I did not understand what they were saying, they apologized and said we have the wrong number.

This company keeps calling my house, 2 times a day.  I am getting tired of it.  I call them back and tell them not to call anymore.  They just call that much more.  I have rights, they keep harrassing me.

I'm wondering why I keep getting calls, I have no debt that needs to be collected and it's annoying to get these calls and then when you try to call back no one picks up. Ridiculous!!!!!!!

Never left a message. I just ignore!!!!!! If it is so important who ever would leave a message. I have read the blogs above. And I would like to know if this company who proclaims to be a law firm.Is a real law firm or just another SCAM.
IT Is more likely to be a collection agency. What law firm would not leave a message. And If they are a law firm. What states are they able to work in? What is their license? Just some questions I would like answered. And if you reply back by saying just answer your phone and we will inform you. From my side you need to leave a message. WHAT EVER!!!!

    just another person being harassed
FYI - I have spoken to these jokers a hundred times.  They call for my soon to be ex-husband.  It is a debt for his grown daughter that his ex-wife incurred due to missed doctor appointments.  I have told them many many times now that they cannot reach him here or on my cell number and they STILL call.  I have given up answering the phone anymore when they call because we go through the same stuff every time and again I am promised no more calls on my phones and yet they keep coming.  STOP CALLING!!!!

I work for an office, and this number calls during non-business hours (outside of 9-5 EST). There is an automated message left on voicemail talking about legal help/assistance, and gives a callback number. These people have called at least twice a day for the past week!

These people are crazy.  I made a payment and they credited, but my amount owing never went down.  They said it accrued that much interest in a month.  That's rediculous $200 interest in a month?
