This scammer calls via a number in your local area code - leaves 888-841-8164 - and tries to sell some Amazon scam.

Yep. a scammer . Also this number comes up on my phone  516-588-5711 which is local number. I just  got a voicemail message  a few minutes ago about the Alexa app and having my business added so people can find me. etc........

A person name Paul left me an voice message: He has sent a couple messages last week for those open spots in the amazon-- Alexa Network. He wants to follow up one more time with me before the last few spots fill up and I have to pay full price. My company name was not on the list, so he would like to see if I want to join before the warranty went out. First I m not a business owner and I don't own any business, and I don't understand where he get all the wrong information from!

Call came from 202-894-8415 to my residential landline. Selling Amazon Alexa listings. Wants you to call back to score a space before the discounted ones are all gone.

Same here... I know he's a scammer because, 1) spoofed number in my area code (with "Name Unavailable" in the caller id, but callback is this number, 2) there were no previous messages from him (although I bet I get a bunch more from him now, just like the Google listing scammers), and 3) you don't have to pay anybody to get your listing in a search engine... it just comes up, and if you're the closest to them, usually you'll be at the top of the list.

These people are scammers. This is there second attempt after trying to get me to believe my “business was not showing up under google ads” first of all I don’t use google ads. Now they are calling about Alexa and Amazon still about my business. I called amazon and google they both confirmed this is a HUGE scam going on and they will NEVER call your home. The best thing to do is actually answer, tell them you know it’s a scam and you will NEVER fall for it. They will eventually get tried of talking to you and stop calling. They used to call me every single day and after I spoke with them I only get calls a few times a month. Seriously shame on these people for what they are doing.

"Paul" saying he was so sorry to be bothering me again, but he already sent a couple of messages last week for those open spots in the Amazon Alexa network for my business (which he said isn't showing up) and to call him back at 888-841-8164 before the last two spots fill up and I have to pay full price. Scammer selling Amazon Alexa ad space. Do not fall for it. First calls with local number then gives you his 888-841-8164 number lies to you saying he  "left a couple of messages with you" .

Was a robo call from "Paul" from the number 978-321-3063 (to make it seem somewhat local), trying to sell Amazon Alexa ad space, and he's tried to reach you a few times. Scam, of course.

Same as reports from others. Local spoofed number on caller ID. I did not answer and "Paul" left same robo vm msg as others are reporting with the same 888-841-8164 call-back number. Not understanding why the telcos and FCC won't do anything about this. The 888 number presumably reaches someone, somewhere which signifies that it can be investigated. Meanwhile, this particular 888 number and other access from the entity needs to be blocked. Telcos (land-line and cell) have the technology to stop this type of invasive calling where the number actually leads to an entity of some sort but apparently there is no will to do so.

I am not  a business owner nor did I receive his previous messages from last week. Number appeared on Call ID as Boston Area code 617-765-3914

Paul calling from 518-201-1839 left a voice message asking for us to return a call to 888-841-8164 to see if our corporation wanted to take advantage of a free opportunity to see if we qualified to advertise on the Amazon Alexa Network.  Said they had a few spots left at a low price before new prices went into effect.
WE HAVE NO INTEREST IN TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THEIR OFFER!

Wow! I'm so glad I thought to put this phone number in google to see if this was a SCAM!! I have had the same situation as everyone else, Paul calls up and wants to fill up the last two spots before we have to pay full price. We own a business, so I debated whether we should do this. But, was untrusting because of all the SCAM calls out there right now. I am calling Paul right now and telling him I know this is a SCAM and you're not getting this smart girl!! Don't fall for it people!

Same as most on here. Number shows as a local call and it's an automated message from "Paul" from Amazon Alexa network (which doesn't exist) to ell advertising. I called and it's just a call center (you can hear all the other callers in the background).

Got the same robocall computerized voicemail saying blah blah blah.  Used a local number on caller ID and asked me to call the 800 number back.  Not worth my time to call him but I  would rather spend my time warning others.
