Scam for alexa app add-on, came into switchboard today (09/23/19)  from #409-227-9969, but caller (recorded-not live) named paul left 888-841-8164 as call back #.

SCAM - Spoofing local telephone numbers

ROBO call to Home Number:  "Hey this is Paul I'm so sorry to bother you again. I had sent a couple messages last week for those open spots in the Amazon Alexa Network. Remember for example when someone says hey Alexa I need a plumber or a mechanic shop or any type of service your company is not showing up. So I wanted to follow up on more time with you before the last few spots fill up and you have to pay full price. So give me a call here at 888-841-8164 if you still have a need we can go over the details and get everything set up for your business. It is free to see if you qualify. So again you can reach me here at 888-841-8164 and I do hope to speak to you soon thanks."   NOPE!!

Left strange message about setting up my Alexa from Amazon. I don't have an Alexa.

Same as the others. Called from a spoof number that’s my local area... 661.443.4957.  Sucks cuz it doesn’t do any good to block because they keep calling from different numbers! 😡

scammer name Paul left me an voice message: He has sent a couple messages last week for those open spots in the amazon-- Alexa Network. He wants to follow up one more time with me before the last few spots fill up and I have to pay full price. My company name was not on the list, so he would like to see if I want to join before the warranty went out.

Same info as listed from all the others. Call came from a local number with no caller ID.  This was the 3rd call so I am BLOCKING it.

Same as everyone above - called my work number telling me our business isn't listed with Amazon Alexa. Called from what came up on caller ID (978-403-6924) as a local number, claiming to have left several messages recently and wanted us to call back to sign up before all the discounted spots were used up.

This is a robo caller trying to trick you into calling back for alexa phone recognition. Never pay for this type of stuff they need content to make their product work charging you for you number to be available is a scam. My son has alexa and my number already comes up for my business what a scammer.

"Hi, this is Paul with Amazon. I called a couple times last week. I wanted to let you know your business is still not listed with AMAZON ALEXA. I wanted to give you a chance to take one of the last couple spots left to get into the AMAZON network. You know, when you say, "hey, Alexa" and you're looking for a company, yours would be suggested. Call me back at ## to get one of our last spots."

They don't care if you're a business owner.  A scam is a scam.

Same as other callers have reported here.  Local number directs you to an Amazon listing scam.  "Paul" left voicemail claiming to have reached out before and wants to offer a special, super duper, one time only introductory price.

Exactly the same thing happened to us! "Paul" left a message saying he had left more messages last week...this was the first...so glad I checked the number out before calling back. Does make one wonder about voice activated searches and making sure a business is coming up in those as well as the searches on phone, laptop, and desktop.

A telemarketer named Paul has called several times now, saying he would like to try one last time before spaces fill up to get in on the Alexa network before the prices go up. His one last time has been like 5 or 6 last times now. Pretty sure this is a scam!

Everyone posting here report this number to your cell or landline provider and the FCC, FTC, BBB and tell them the 888 841 8164 is a scam operation ripping off people.  All the numbers reported that people are listing are not in service or disconnected or spoofed numbers.  Our politicians and law enforcement officials continue to ignore these nuisance time wasting scammers and will not do anything to stop them

I also have gotten three calls from Paul...poor Paul, kinda feel sorry for the guy with all the negative responses...he's a telemarketer and I have been there, done that, too, but it's not a great job when so many people feel and probably are scammed.   So, just block the numbers.  I hate when companies are SO DESPERATE to sell their junk uh stuff, that they resort to spoofing and using private numbers...GROW UP..BE CREATIVE and stop lying to and scamming people!!!!!

Called from a local number and left voicemail apologizing for calling twice.  Paul never called me.  Also, I am a seller on Amazon, but, as any Amazon Seller knows, to have Alexa suggest your product, you need an Amazon's Choice Badge for a specific keyword.  Only the Amazon Algorithm can dictate who gets that privledge.  SCAM!!!
