- anotgher victim replies to Ticker Off| 1 replyMake a complaint to the Canadian Government. They control the licences of Rogers and Mobile Messenger.

I have made my complaint and there is an investigation. - CCTS next| 2 repliesROGERS is an accomplice to these scams when they won't help us and is really encouraging fraudulent activities by making you pay for charges you didnt sign up for.
I asked to speak to a manager and when after 35 min on hold I got through a supervisor named Amy, she said "it's not Roger's problem".
So I called 1-888-846-6939, which is the third party company that charged me. You can get to the customer service line by dialing 1-888-846-6939, use the system to take your number off of the system, then press 9 to get to the main menu and then pressing 1.)
The opeartor I spoke with (Karen) apologized for this inconvenience and is going to issue a refund cheque, and was told that I should receive it in approx. 10 to 14 business days.
I will update when I get the cheque. If I don't get it, then I'll file a complaint at https://www.ccts-cprst.ca/en/complaints/complaint-form
But seriously, I'm more pissed at ROGERS than at the third party company since ROGERS does not even TRY to offer solutions. - de alwismy Fido Bill was charged $30.00 for the unknown texts that I received !!! When I called FIDO they said they cannot reimburse the charges and that MOBILE MESSENGER °54354 Guessology has sent messages to my phone and they have charged!!
This is outrageous!!! I didn't subscribe for these messages!!! and I'm being billed.. this is invading privacy and it's a FRAUD..- Call type: Text message
- electraI too have been scammed by MyIQ Online 888 846 6969 to the tune of $10. When I took my bill to Rogers, they told me they have no control over third party 'events' and cannot do anything about it. The Rogers employee texted Stop to them so I hope the scammers won't send anymore texts to my phone.
This Rogers employee told me to call them for reimbursment but that effort was futile since all I got were automated messages and no real person! I'm taking my complaint to CCTS http://www.ccts-cprst.ca/
Everyone with this type of problem should complain to the CCTS about Rogers. When there's a loud outcry from lots of people, something has to be done!- Caller: MyIQOnline 888 846 6969

- Ariel| 1 replyI'm a Fido subscriber and I had the same issue this month when I got my billing statement online. I didn't waste my time calling Fido after reading the comments here.
I called 1-888-846-6939, which was the third party company who charged me. After dialing this number, you will be promted to enter the cell phone number you are calling about to unsubscribed. Then you should get a message that it was cancelled. In my case, there was nothing to cancel since the message I got was I am not subscribed to any of their services. After that you will be prompted to press 9 to get to the main menu and then pressing 1 to speak to a representative.
It is so unfortunate that I have to experience this. Since it was within the 30 days period, they can refund me with the cost but not the taxes since it was Fido who charged me the HST. A cheque will be issued I should receive it in approx. 10 to 14 business days. - I Got Fooled Too replies to JessieCall that number and i typed in my number at the end the asked if I wanted to go to the main menu to speak to a rep and i did and i told them my problem and they said i wouldnt be charged again and they gave me a verification number.

- younesI called, it was an automatic/computer response asking to enter the number for unsusbscribe. it was appearanlty processed successfully. i was not able to speak with a rep after that step (by dialing 9-1). it was a 20$ charge in my bill with fido.

- PattiI received my Roger's bill today and noticed 3rd party charges to the tune of $20. Trying to contact this company at 888-846-6939,MobileMessenger, resulted in no person to person contact but only a way of stating you no longer wish to receive billing from this company. Roger's says these 3rd party companies say they send you a PIN which you have to enter to join the service. I have never received a PIN and I have never subscribed to this service. They don't have a web site or anyway of contacting them. This is a major scam.

- Derek| 1 replyI received two weeks of 'service' from this 1-888-846-6939 as well, and it was reflected as two $5 charges on my monthly wireless bill.
In phoning Rogers, I got the song-and-dance described above: I was responsible for the charges, not Rogers, but if I called the Technical Support number that appeared on my bill (the number above), then they would be able to refund the money. I explained to the Customer Service Agent that I was writing a complaint to the CRTC, and would like more information about how such charges were applied, and could she please transfer me to someone more familiar with the policies around this problem.
'CRTC' seems to be the magic word, because I was transferred to another Customer Service Rep who explained the policies to me, and waived my fees right then and there. I am still complaining to the CRTC, as well as Industry Canada's Competition Bureau, and my MP. It makes me sick that people who don't know how to work the system (new Canadians, foreign students, young adults, etc.) should be on the hook for other people's unscrupulous practices. The policy loophole that allows this practice needs to be closed.
The website for complaints to the CRTC/CCTS: http://www.ccts-cprst.ca/en/complaints
The website for the Competition Bureau is offline today, but their contact information can be found on this CRTC page: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/info_sht/t1021.htm

I hope others do the same. - Potato replies to SashaDid you once take the chance for winning a IPAD or IPOD free on the net .... then you enter in a confusing confirmation of phone number and many tricky steps ...
- Alicia| 1 replyDoes calling 888-846-6939 and entering your number followed by a pound key to be unsubscribed actually stop the messages and the charges?

Tomorrow I am calling again Rogers and I will tell them that I am going to File my complain with CRTC and see what they say, I will update with the results!!.
- Andrea replies to SashaI too have been charged a total of about $90 over two months time for unwanted text messages sent to my work cell phone number. The unwanted texts came from 36397 The IQ Tester and 22636 Soulmates Name. I think it's fraud and I think the cell phone provider, Rogers Wireless, has a responsibility to its customers to NOT BE IN AGREEMENT with the above mentioned names to charge customers for this rediculousness!!! One text I received said something like "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" - that's great, thanks for the advice and for charging me $5 for it! Cell company's are out of control on this one - this is completely fraud! Any lawyer who wants a class-action law suit, give me a call and add me to your list; 403.450.3990!
